Even though it was 90 degrees outside, hotpot still hit the spot :) It was my first time here at Yonny and their concept is so nice. You would fill a bowl with whatever toppings you want, then choose your broth, and they'll weigh out your toppings and that's how much you pay at the end ($15 per pound). They have different types of beef, lamb, pork, chicken, seafood, fish balls, rice cake, noodles, and lots of veggies. Just be aware to switch out your tongs when you scoop meat vs the rest of the items to avoid cross-contamination (there was no sign for warning at all). They also have a sauce bar where you can make your own dipping sauce, and rice is free. We loaded ours with tons of stuff and the total at the end was only $22+$15 for 2 portions. I got the Spicy Chili Oil broth, and my boyfriend got the Singapore Laksa broth. The spicy broth was delicious, it doesn't numb you at all and was very flavorful (not too oily either). The Singapore laksa broth was like a creamy curry broth, but it was't too creamy at all and was very light in flavor. We loved both our broths and will definitely try the Tom Yum or Tomato Broth next time. Even though it wasn't an AYCE hotpot, I still highly recommend Yonny because it was so cheap and you'll get really full!!
We found this newly opened place on Google and were impressed! They have a make your own hotpot plus sauerkraut fish soup as 2 different options to choose from. We got one of each and I especially liked the fish soup! So much good flavor, good amount of fish, and not too spicy for my tastes. Would definitely come back!
I've been to Yonny twice now. Both times my meal tasted great, I do enjoy building my own hotpot bowl. I will say this spot is not "beginner friendly" though. They don't help you to understand the process or provide any guidance. If my first time I didn't have a friend who had already been familiar with Yonny, I would've been confused with no help! Their staff always seems to be missing or too busy for you, even when there are barely customers. Sadly we picked a hair out of our food. Wild thing is the staff wears these little caps that cover half their head. I expect better from this establishment.
I'm a big fan of malatang and I am overjoyed to have another option in the area. The atmosphere was very coherent and the service was pretty good, but the malatang was exceptional. The variety of ingredients was impressive compared to other malatang restaurant. I even found my favorite item, the fish roe fortune bags. This great variety comes at a very reasonable price of ~15/lb. If that was not enough, there are also free rice and fruit for dine in customers. My only criticism is that the classic soup base wasn't as flavorful as I would like, but the sauce bar makes up for that. This place is so good that I was already thinking about what I would order when we returned to Yonny in the near future.
Boyfriend and I are regulars of Yin Tang and Hotpot Fairy, and were delighted to find new malatang in the area! We came on a Friday night for date night. It was PACKED, so make sure you come early if during a peak time. The process was simple, with waitstaff taking our drink orders and then redirecting us to the ingredient bar once we indicated we wanted malatang. The wall was extensive, with way more ingredients than Yin Tang. Be careful not to have eyes bigger than your stomach! All ingredients seemed appropriately fresh. You then go up to the counter where they weigh your ingredients and you choose your soup. I got the classic herbal bone broth for mine. They also have a side area, where there's several rice cookers (self serve), a mini sauce bar, and some fruit. I found my soup very enjoyable for the price. There was a lot of scum at the top, but I got a lot of fatty meat, so that was understandable. It's only slightly more expensive per pound than other malatang we've had. I enjoyed the taste overall. My bf noted that the soup he got had less flavor/spice than he was used to, but as someone who hates spice, I was more than satisfied. After we were done, waitstaff were quick to help us package up leftovers and offered us complimentary ice cream in vanilla, chocolate or strawberry to round out the meal. Overall, we were pretty impressed with our experience here. Bf is already talking about everything he wants to try next time. Would recommend!

The hype is definitely real. Between four of us, we ordered the Suancai Fish, Linyi-style stir-fried chicken, and two 2 lb malatang bowls, which was more than enough to share. If I could redo it, I'd go for the large Suancai Fish since it was easily the standout dish and skip the chicken. There's also a self-serve station for rice, sauces, and even fruit. We couldn't help but think that we're in China because of the authentic experience! Overall, it came out to about $30/person including tax and tip, which feels reasonable for the portion sizes and quality. Great for sharing, fun experience, and I'd definitely come back to try more from the menu. **The napkins are in the drawer beneath the table btw.**
Came here with family of all ages and it was enjoyed by everyone. They have some items you can order that they have preset and make it to order. However, the fun part is their wall of ingredients that you can pick and choose from to build your perfect bowl. There is a large assortment of protein's, veggies, and noodles you can choose from. Everything is charged by the pound before you add the broth. I do like that they have a handful of well seasoned broths to choose from. I find at a lot of similar/hot pot places the broths are never seasoned right and you have to add things yourself. Here, while they do have a sauce bar, the broth doesn't need seasoning. The laksa broth is good but the kimchi based broth is much better. That's what I know I'll get next time. Good for groups, easy to navigate, and staff is helpful if you have questions. I love that they have these little drawers were you can find extra napkins and chopsticks if you need them.
We've come here both times on a weekend and we were able to get seated within 15 minutes. Once we came as a party of 3 and the other time we came as a party of 8. I would say it's pretty kid friendly with a non spicy tomato base option, high chairs, and small toys to keep them entertained! With our party of 8, we had 3 kids and it was manageable! The kids sat in their high chairs until we were finished with dinner. Don't remember if they had a baby changing table tho. Parking is also plentiful! Food wise, I was impressed with the rich, flavorful broths! We got the original and the tomato base and both were wonderful. They didn't taste watered down and I didn't feel like I was going to slip into a food coma after either. There is plenty of veggies, meats, and carb options to choose from as well. I appreciated the dipping sauce area that also had a small selection of desserts (2 fruits and white fungus soup). We have also gotten the coconut fried balls both times and they were amazing! The rice cakes with peanut powder were also great!
Honestly this restaurant is really nice and spacious. There are many toppings to pick from, and definitely a lot more unique options compared to the other pick and choose hot pot spots in DFW. There is unlimited rice, appetizers, a complimentary sauce bar, and the sweet fungus dessert. I tried the chili oil based soup and it's what you would expect. Pretty flavorful and not too spicy. Will definitely try a different broth next time, but all the toppings were really fresh and displayed beautifully. I recommend trying the lava coconut balls, a mini coconut explosion. Staff were very nice and friendly. You pay at the very end. It can get SUPER crowded though so expect a wait time. A little overwhelming with everyone standing up trying to get toppings and sauces, but once you sit down it's fine. Will definitely be coming back.
We ordered their signature dish hot oil Suancai Fish . It was really good. Spicy and full of flavor. The golden soup beef slices was also very good. Portions were good for the prices they charge. They have a bar for sauces. For dessert, bar counter also had a couple of fresh fruits and a dessert thingy. Service was really good. Vibe of the place is cool. We will definitely be coming back.
Great hotpot spot! Yonny Hotpot is an awesome place to eat. The food is delicious and super fresh, with lots of great options to choose from. The ambiance is clean and comfortable, making it a great place to enjoy a meal. The customer service is excellent--everyone is friendly, attentive, and makes you feel welcome. On top of that, the prices are very reasonable for the quality and portions you get. Definitely a great value and a place I'd happily come back to. Highly recommend!
I was excited to try this place for the mini hotpot, and this place was amazing! There is a variety of meats and veggies to pick from! Hotpot is weighed by pound and you can pick your broth. I chose the bone broth, very flavorful and delicious! What I like most about Yonny is that there are so many options you can pick from, perfect to customize your hotpot the way you like it! With dine in, you can go to the self serve station to build your own sauce. There's also purple rice, white rice, mung bean soup, cucumber and fruit! All so delicious and complement well with the hotpot. Staff is very friendly and the store is clean. I can't wait to come back and build another hotpot!
Friendly, fast service! AND delicious food! I've tried boiled beef slices, princess tomato fish, and laksa malatang here so far. Although the boiled beef slices had three next to it, I didn't find it that spicy which was a pleasant surprise (and I'm just OK with spice). The princess tomato fish is VERY tomato-y, so only get it if you want to taste mainly that vs more complex flavors. I loved the laksa malatang because the coconut milk was there and not overpowering. Overall, fresh ingredients and they offer multigrain rice! Will come back. read more

I went to there out of sheer curiosity and I was pleasantly surprised by the variety they offer. It's similar to Mongolian grill but instead of grill, it's hot pot. So basically you choose your own ingredients. For those who are on special diet like keto, this is recommended. They measure the price by pound, which can get pricey but worth it. The service was pretty solid from my experiences and I personally prefer when I don't get interrupted every 10 minutes, to me that's a plus. Overall, since I was a mainland Chinese, this place feels like a slice of modern mainland China, which is a welcoming vibe. I have already recommended this place to several of my friends. read more
Green peppercorn sauce is szechuan, expect tingly mouth like as if you licked a 9volt battery. Delivers on the peppercorn! I like cabbage as thr bok choy can be large pieces. Cilantro is a nice option but long strings on stem. Potato slices are great. Both beef and pork are offered, I find the beef to be more delicious Can't go wrong here, great value. While there was a bit of a wait to get seated, the experience afterward was great. The staff clearly explained the ordering process, which made everything easy to follow. The interior is bright and clean, with tables arranged in fun rows to accommodate the space. The sauce bar is well organized and offers a wide variety of options. I ordered the malatang with the original soup base. There were plenty of ingredients to choose from, and I found myself enjoying the soup more and more with each bite. read more

Place was nice, cute , decorated well. Service was great, there was lady asking us twice if every was good and no , she wasn't the waiter. Free sauce bar - 5/5 Free fruit 5/5 Free rice and pickle 5/5 To go containers 5/5 impressive made of higher quality plastics and bags Utensils 5/5... actually super impressed by bamboo straws provided , environmentally friendly. Food bar 5/5 where you pick your own ingredients and weigh it. So many selections to choose from. Extensive selections Food portion was ok. Note place serves Sichuan soups. Sichuan food flavor is very strong : very spicy, sour and salty. If you don't like Sichuan soup, this may present a challenge for you. Ordered 3 soup types and all of them were sour , spicy and salty. My hubby simply doesn't like it salty.. so not coming back. But I don't see it as the restaurant's problem. Rather, it's just taste preference and what you are used to eating. Definitely recommend if you like Sichuan soups I saw table next to us 3 people eating and I think they spent less than $100 with only 2 dishes. but they received lucky draw and prizes. Here's what went wrong: when we paid, we were expecting the same thing: where's the lucky draw and small prizes like mug, small paper fans? Unfortunately our waiter despite speaking English pretty good. Could not understand us. Tried to explain 3-4 times and he finally said the table spent over $100? And we were ineligible to get it . I'm obsessed. 5/5 Went yesterday with my husband and some friends. I LOVE this place lol. They have a ton of different soup base options, and you can build your own hot pot bowl or order a bowl that's preset with ingredients. We each did a build your own. $14.95/lb for whatever proteins, veggies and carbs you want to add! Then you take it to the cashier to get weighed, relay your table # and which broth you want, and they'll take it to you once it's done. :) It's definitely easy to go ham on the ingredients. My bowl was about 1.2 lbs (before soup), and I loaded up on fish/bok choy/etc. Picked the princess tomato broth base (bc I'm a weenie when it comes to heat). DELICIOUS. I want to go back already lol. They also have a self serve station for white or multigrain rice, fruits and sauces. Tip? DO THE MULTIGRAIN!! It made me so happy to see that as an option. I had enough for two meals. Their take home containers are also solid (no leaking). I'm finishing my leftovers and already thinking about when to go back. :') read more
We thought the food here was alright, we had got the Singapore laksa and it was absolutely delicious with rice but was very salty but I enjoyed the coconut flavor. I had heard the fish was much better though and plan to return to try the fish dishes. The service was really great, it was our first time and had multiple servers come up to help explain for us. The environment and restaurant is neat and well organized, A very beautiful place. I do plan to return! read more
happy to see plano getting more and more hotpot restaurants! i love the large variety of hotpot ingredients that they offer. the classic bone broth has good depth of flavory but it is on the saltier side. i would also recommend getting the traditional suancai fish with snakehead fish and golden soup beef slices! the fish dish had a great balance of sourness and the classic numbness from the green sichuan peppercorn without being fishy. the golden soup beef is a popular chinese dish with a distinct savory, spicy, and tangy flavor from the pickled peppers. the portion is also really good for the price. one dish is definitely enough for two people. read more
This place has a lot of unique toppings for your personal hotpot, more seafood than other places, even have king crab legs. You can either order one of their pre-made fish soups, or build your own by choosing your toppings and broth, $14.95 per pound toppings. They also offer unlimited white rice and purple rice which is a big plus. I honestly think this place is better than yin Tang, which I went to before. They also have a really good cucumber salad, and a fruit dessert, all you can eat. read more

So glad we finally got to try this place! Apparently Yonny's is super popular in China, how lucky we are to get this in Plano! The fish soup was definitely great, but I especially loved the individual hot pot! The variety of ingredients options were mind blowing, and I loved having mine in the spicy dry option. Theres also the cold cucumber appetizer in the sauce bar area, don't sleep on them! read more

We came for dinner over the holidays. This place was packed but we were able to be seated quickly. The waiter staff were really nice and gave good suggestions. To order you can choose to do a personal hot pot (choose your toppings by a from the bar and pick a broth) or to choose one of the suancai fish soups. We got the traditional laotan suancai fish (large portion for 2 people). We ordered the snakehead fish which was soft and tender. This soup was really flavorful with a forward suancai (Chinese sour/pickled vegetable) flavor. We also ordered the large Princess tomato fish with snakehead fish. This one leaned more on the sweet side but was not spicy so it's a good option for kids! Overall, the place was very clean and busy. The food came in big portions (large sized) and both broths had good taste and flavor. read more
Yonny has a really good variety of seafood options for your malatang. I got some scallops, mussels, fish cakes, tripe, beef, starch noodles, cabbage, and enoki. I like the broth, but I wish it was less oily. I ended up having to scoop out a lot of the oils. I would give the overall soup a 7.5/10. I do like the spicy fried pork. It was a nice appetizer. The complimentary rice and cucumbers were very yummy. I give the fried pork a 8.5/10. Our servers were very busy. This is a good place for families or parties of 4-6. I would come back. read more

Wanted to try this new hotpot place and it did not disappoint! When I came, it was super packed, but we were still able to get sat immediately and the staff was super quick. The food was delicious and it's the type where you choose your own toppings and they weigh it and cook it for you. read more
This establishment just opened but we wanted to see if it was good to make it a malatang spot to come back to. I always crave soup during the cold and today Yonny hit the spot. Their pricing is $15/lb for malatang and they also have menu items to order like the suancai fish or golden beef. We got the original bone broth & princess tomato soup. Both are delicious and did not disappoint! I would compare the tomato to haidi soup broth. Bone broth is very warm and comforting. Not too strong mala flavor if that is something you dont like! (Me) There is many many options to choose for malatang ingredients and the dining area is spacious. I will be coming back^^ Service is pretty lackluster and at most times, absent. We were always looking for staff to help us because if we had a server, then we couldn't tell who. Had to check ourselves out at the counter while we saw other tables had their bill brought to them. read more

My go to is Ying Tang as it's closer to my house and it's reasonable at $15/lb. Well, this place is the same price but it has even more selections of meat and veggies. But they also have this desert drink along with rice (white and purple) and some fruits that are all included. Right away, it was a deal for sure. Once we get our food, the broth in both my wife's and mine were a bit salty. Perhaps if you're sharing the dish and pair it with rice, it maybe better, but eating it straight as I had noodles as well, it was just salty. Next time, I may get the lesser spice as mine was quite spicy as well. Overall, it's still a fun place to try. Just wish there was one closer as it was about 40 min drive from my house. read more

This place feels like it was teleported or transplanted straight out of China The menu graphic design, the paper napkins pouch, and the staff all feel so Chinese, honestly an incredible feat The service is simple, its self serve pick what you want and pay by the pound hot pot / dry pot (aka malatang) We got the tomato and green sichuan soup Both were great, but the tomato soup has the distinct taste of tomato seasoning packet, similar to what you'd expect from asian ketchup chips If you expect this, this is great, but if you are expecting a more tomato flavor, you might be disappointed The green sichuan broth is very numbing, and not great with leafy veggies, but excellent with meat Overall this makes a great addition to the area and is incredibly authentic to the modern casual Chinese dining experience that you would find all across China today. read more
Fun Hotpot Experience, each person get their own bowl, you run down the line and select what you want and it's priced per lbs of the raw ingredients. Select a broth I got the Green sichuan green peppercorn, was delicious, spicy a bit lip tingling but would order it again. Then they bring it to your table. While you wait there is a serve yourself sauce/rice bar that has white & purple rice, cucumber salad, mung bean soup, and fruit for after. Crispy pork was a good appetizer. Staff was helpful answering all our question and helping us with our first time, very attentive with refills or any requests. Highly recommend! This is the first time I went to this place since they are very POP UP on over social media. I really like my choice that is Spicy dry mix. It is seasoned nicely not too salty. My friend got the tom yum broth and classic one that is best selling and they are so good. We also order some side dish that is deep fried pork and Chinese sausage. However i dont like them that much since they dont taste good I like the way they giving free rice so we can eat with hot pot. Overall Rating: 5 stars WOW (0 = good, X = bad) 1. Atmosphere: O Atmosphere is very modern and warm with multitude of sitting arrangements to accommodate for all types of groups 2. Service: O Service was fair, the only problem I'd say is that some of the employees had difficulties speaking English which makes things sorta lost in translation, but that's something I negate because it's not that big a deal + they're nice anyways 3. Food/Products: O The food bar selection has a ton of ingredients to choose from ranging from meats, to noodles, to vegetables though I'd suggest you stock up on only the meat lol. After choosing the ingredients, you can then choose a broth which they add and bring to you. The broth I had was a Korean spicy broth and was very flavorful. Another addition that stands out from other places is that they have a rice area that you can use to add into the leftover broth to make the best of the broth which draws me in as someone that hates to waste, especially good broth. 4. Pricing: O The pricing is still on par with most places that have this type of service in which you choose ingredients and it's $15/lb so you must careful with which ingredients to eat. Because of this, the pricing is perfect for everyone due to the price being in your control (granted you'd have to eyeball it but can make your meal range from as low as $5 to however high you'd like) 5. Overall Experience: O I highly recommend this place to anyone that is a fan of this style of eating, wants to be flexible when it comes to how to much you'd like to pay as well as what to eat, and actually get your moneys worth if eaten with rice. Highlights/Recommendations: I rarely give out 5 stars but I really like this place because it checks off the rare box of mine that I don't include in these reviews which is if the place will leave you full for a fair/good price. The service here is great. We were greeted right away and shown to our seat. They explained the menu to us and we both chose to do the hot pot. We also got a crispy pork appetizer. There is a complimentary rice and sauces bar. We got to pick all our ingredients from the food wall. They charge by weight. I only wish they had pumpkin to add to my hot pot. The restaurant is clean, comfortable seating and music plays at a decent volume. read more

I hope I don't have to update this review but first time here and the food was absolutely amazing! They let you choose your own ingredients and hot pot sauce or you can order premade hotpot from the menu. We decide to make our own and we weren't disappointed. The ingredients were fresh and they kept them stocked. I think the best part about this place is you paid per pound and get to take what you don't finish home. The first bite, the hot pot flavor was divine! I didn't even need dipping sauce. Definitely can't wait to try it again. read more
