Food is great, service was good even thought it was busy, the girl taking my order was very nice. Also the food came out fresh and delicious. The carne asada w/broccoli is my favorite.

Customer service was great! I came in at a slow time and the food had been out so they made a fresh batch!

Bistro B - Complimentary soup, REALLY good

The fact Bistro B is only rated a 3.5/5 is unfortunate. I'm honestly so upset I haven't heard of…read morethis place before now, but am very grateful to be in the know because I will definitely be a regular (so long as the issues I've seen in some of the reviews has been permanently resolved). The inside of the restaurant is really spacious & beyond what you order to eat, there are additional grocery items and other knickknacks for purchase that you can enjoy. There's large windows running around the perimeter of the building, so you can see into infinity and beyond...as far as the parking lot and nearby stores go lol. Since it's close to the Lunar New Year there's extra decor they've placed both indoor and outdoor, which is really cool to see. When it comes to food, they have an extensive selection to choose from. I really enjoy that they have a lot of photos to reference in their menu, especially for people like me that like to get an idea of what I'm ordering. During this visit I ordered their salmon vermicelli dish (Ca Hoi Nuong) , pork belly spring rolls & their Nem Chua Heo aka "vampire meat" I found over in their grocery area. Everything was made fresh to order & absolutely delicious. The vermicelli dish is quite huge portion wise, so come hungry or plan to have leftovers. The spring rolls were to die for. I've never had pork belly spring rolls and just loved the crunch from the skin bits they added in there, the moistness and rich flavor of the meat, chewiness of the rice paper & really well made peanut sauce. I'm so tempted to drive back over there just for those. The nem chua was also good, but just good lol. It's very similar to salami in taste if you've never had it before, but has a slight sweetness to it. I must warn that it is on the spicier side once you eat it as intended with the garlic & chili on top so have a drink ready. Overall I think this was the best $30 I've spent in a while. I can't wait to come back.

Don't expect exceptional service at any traditional casual Vietnamese restaurants. The focus is the…read morefood because that's basically all you're getting. Bistro B has always been super well known in the Vietnamese community. Growing up, every time I would come-I would get the basic pho and spring rolls. I haven't been since 2017 that I've gone and now I have a friend who's a super adventurous eater like me, so I got to choose around the menu. The menu blew me away because what place has a Vietnamese household's traumatic childhood staples like bittermelon soup?!? This entire meal was incredibly nostalgic and heart-felt for me especially since I haven't been back to Vietnam since COVID has happened. This is truly the most authentic Vietnamese restaurant that I have ever been to. Food ordered; - 707. Periwinkle in Spicy Tamarind Sauce (ỐC HƯƠNG SỐT ME): I have never seen a Vietnamese restaurant with snails before. I remember eating this all the time in the streets of Vietnam. The sauce and Vietnamese coriander were incredible along with the snail texture. - 23. Asian Crepe with Shrimp and Beef (BÁNH XÈO TÔM THỊT): It tasted like a solid definition of what Banh Xeo is supposed to be. The size of it though is insane to me. I've had Bánh Xèo at other restaurants-which are made to normal sizes, but this size is insane. Definitely ended up being leftovers. _ 119. Angel vermicelli served with grilled pork, and roast pork belly (BÁNH HỎI THỊT NƯỚNG VÀ HEO QUA): It tasted like how it is supposed to take. Definitely great dish as well. Portion size is also huge as well, so leftovers as well. Drink order: 413. ARTICHOKE BOM - NƯỚC MÁT (Artichoke Drink, Jelly, Basil Seed): I often get artichoke tea, so I was super excited to show my friend who has never had this before. It was way too sweet for us, but adding water into it definitely made it better. BTW, he ordered the durian smoothie which also tasted good, but it was less naturally tasteful than other places. Overall, this is the best authentic Vietnamese food I've had in a very long time. If you're an adventurous eater, I would definitely recommend trying something different other than spring rolls, pho, fried rice, or chow mein. Everything is super acquired though, but I truly do recommend if you're opened to it. ALSO, this has also been the best service I've ever had at a Vietnamese place. You don't come in ever expecting service. However, the lady who took care of us brought us new fresh plates for our new dish which shocked us especially as servers from an upscale restaurant. Water did take a while to refill, but the change of new plates blew us away. Thus, the food, service, and the super authentic and nostalgic ambiance definitely was an amazing experience. We are definitely coming back for more snails and other dishes!!

It's…read morerecently removed sushi from the menu, so they now only focus on authentic Taiwanese dishes. This is my updated review. My Overall Rating - 4 Stars (Atmosphere, Service, Food, Return) Atmosphere - You'll find Genroku in the same place it's been for years. Inside, there's a tree - yes a tree. There are a number of tables in the front and larger booths in the back. There's also an a sushi bar - although they no longer serve sushi. I never forget that iconic tree. 1 Star. Service - For an Asian restaurant, service is efficient. Once you are seated a server will take your order. If you're expecting smiles and recommendations, you won't find it here. But you will have youg food brought out quickly and drinks refilled. 1/2 Star. Food - I've been ordering the same dishes here for almost two decades because it's so good. Start with the Salt & Pepper Tofu. Tofu squares are perfectly fried on the outside while maintaining a piping hot soft inside that pairs perfectly with the soy based dip. I also order the Clay Pot Chicken. I read my review from 2013 and I describe it. Thirteen years later it's still super tender, hot, and pairs perfectly with rice. 2 Stars. Will I Return? - Not as often since they no longer serve sushi. Full Disclosure - I never at the sushi there, but it was nice that it was an option. But 13 years after my original review I'm still ernjoying the same fantastic dishes... just not as often. 1/2 Star.

Dropped $215 for 3 people for some really average/bad food. My husband wanted to go there because…read morehe heard they sous vide steaks when the owner is there, he was excited to get a nice steak. 1) Pan Fried duck $32- Dry, overcooked, unseasoned. Skin looked crispy but was not. Supposed to come with a mandarin sauce. Sauce I got had to be just soy & hoisin. No citrus flavor at all and very thin and salty. Oversalted potato slices, gummy rice & no veg. 2) Secret steak menu $63 - Sous vide ribeye was large and my husband liked it. This was also served with oversalted potato slices, no veg. 3) Slow braised pork $28 - Pork cut was pork belly which would have been nice to mention on the menu. My son wouldn't have chosen that entree if he knew that was the cut. It was a gelatinous mountain of darkened fat in a salty sauce. The bok choy was fine, simply steamed and unremarkable. Gummy rice. 4) Scallion pancake $8 - greasy and very light on scallions. Meh. 5) Blue crab & cheese wontons $12 - Very little filling, though what was in there was good. Mostly hard crispy wonton, not light or airy. The dipping sauce was giving mango baby food vibes. 6) Cocktails - Lychee Grapefruit Martini $13 and Baby Boulevardier $15 were good. 7) Bathroom was dirty and trach can overflowing onto the floor at 7pm on a Sunday night. 8) Had at least 4 different servers approach our table to take our orders and every time we tried to order they said they'd come back later due to the time it would take for the sous vide steak to finish cooking. It would have been nice to have a single server coordinate that timing with the kitchen instead of a parade of different people ask us to order and then leave when they heard there was a steak working. 9) Table had a view of a wine room that looked more like a storage room with lots of random cardboard boxes. 10) When they cleared the table and took the steak board away there was a greasy puddle under it that was never wiped up by anyone despite us remaining at the table for some time afterward. Overall yes on the steak & cocktails and that's about it. Would def not return. At that price point I was expecting fine dining and was sadly disappointed.
