I recently visited Sticky Rice in Richardson and had a solid experience overall. It's definitely good, just not quite great. Let's get into it... I ordered the basil fried rice (spice level 2) and the pork fried crispy rolls. The spice level 2 gave the rice a subtle kick - noticeable but not overwhelming - which is just the way I like it. The basil fried rice was packed with egg, bamboo shoots, baby corn, mushrooms, bell peppers, white onions, fresh basil, and garlic. The flavors were balanced, and the portion size was VERY generous - this was way more than single meal for me. The crispy pork rolls were also very good. They were filled with pork, green onions, glass noodles, carrots, white onions, and cabbage, and served with a thin sweet & sour sauce that complemented them nicely without being too heavy. Even though I ordered them as an appetizer, they arrived midway through my meal, so not the best timing. The fountain machine wasn't working, so drinks were $2.50 for a can of soda with no refills. That felt a bit steep for a canned drink. I count that as a downside of the visit. Overall, the food was flavorful and generously portioned. With small improvements on the drink situation and meal timing, it could easily be a 5-star experience. read more

Stopped in here for lunch today and ordered the pad see ew. The sauce isn't right. Speed of service s was fine, customer service was poor and the location was ok. Price was.a bit high for the food quality. I didn't like the sauce and the chicken was dry. I might give them another chance if I'm in the area, but i certainly wouldn't go out of my way to eat here. They do give you a decent amount of food but i don't want a large bowl of just ok or not very good food. We'll see how the leftovers taste. Maybe other things here are better. read more

Great food, but if you dine-in they only have cheap thin plastic utensils that immediately break. I asked for a real spoon and an Asian soup spoon. Told they don't have that, not even for dine-in. Didn't have a solution for the cheap thin breaking spoons. So never come here to eat here. You can only do takeout so you have utensils you can eat with at home. No working utensils here. I've never had Nam Kao before but that crispy rice and everything it was mixed with was so good in that lettuce wrap, that will be a must every time I go. Really loved that I had leftovers to take home because it was really that good and the I've already mentioned the portion size, but really, you're paying for at least two meals! The service was great and everyone was so nice and thoughtful, it was a great place to dine in for a casual night to catch up with a good friend. The herb chicken was super flavorful and perfectly crunchy, I'd absolutely recommend it if you're in the mood for some good friend chicken! Got a level two spice pad Thai to go. The atmosphere of the restaurant was casual crowded by the lunch rush. I got my order pretty quickly and the portion size was great so no complaints there. In terms of the actual dish, I found it to be pretty average. Maybe if I had taken a higher spice level the dish would have been more flavourful but I found it to be very flat with the noddles stuck together. However the dish elevated with the peanut crumble and lime of course. I still see myself coming back a second time because it's close to work and thai food is a weakness of mine. read more

We had got the thai tea, chicken pad thai (level 3) and the beef pad see ew (level) 1. The thai tea had a good tea flavor and not too much half and half. Both the noodle dishes were on the sweet side and the level 3 was not as spicy as I thought it would be. The portions were great and I liked that they pack to go boxes with aluminum to make sure the food stays warm. The chili oil sauce that they had was a good addition to the dish if you like more garlic and spice. The cashier was a bit short when taking our order but it seemed like she had a bit stressful time when there was a big group that had came in. The inside is a bit small but manageable. Very nice service. Fast casual. Easy no frills. Small portions and high prices for Thai food. Came here for a quick late lunch one afternoon. Ordered a couple of items to share. Some of it was good but some of it wasn't very good. Started off with a papaya salad, and it was definitely swimming in sauce, and the sauce was very sugary. We then got the Tom Yum soup and that was also super sweet. The cream cheese appetizer was decent, but instead of cream cheese I think there was way too much mayonnaise in there. Before you place your order at the counter, you need to tell the cashier/waiter how spicy do you want, by number or no spice at all. I ordered one of their entrees, chicken and pad thai with chicken for my wife. The chicken entree is ok, not expecting that the chicken was minced. I thought sliced. Met a friend for late lunch during the week. It's a good location for people traveling by the train and was very clean inside. The seating is limited so during peak times, seating may be hard to come by but it was perfect for a late lunch. The staff was very friendly and patient. I had previewed the menu ahead of time and was a little disappointed when some of the menu items were not available (or even listed at this location). However the food we settled on was amazing. The order of Tom Kha was giant and I had plenty to take home. It was great the day of and reheated well so I consider that a double win. The crab cream cheese rolls were freshly made and crispy.
