Quail egg spare ribs clay pot
    Brandon D.

My family tried out this new restaurant right outside our house called Wok House in Wylie. Their location is pretty hidden so you wouldn't know about it unless you were looking for it. Their name gives off Chinese Americanized fast food vibes, and while they do have that option, they have a really authentic menu as well. We ordered the quail egg spare ribs clay pot, seafood tofu clay pot, beef with eggplant, salt and pepper tofu, and walnut shrimp. The claypots were both pretty good. Spare ribs were tender and with some nice fatty pieces mixed in, loved the sauce for it too. Loved the tofu in the other clay pot. I think next time I will choose the one with the brown sauce though as it's more savory. The walnut shrimp was so good and the shrimp they have is sooo big. Beef and eggplant was solid, both really easy to chew and I liked the sauce. Salt and pepper you had a nice outer crisp and soft inside. Good balance of salt and pepper flavor. Could use more onions and peppers though. We loved everything we had. They also serve Chinese dishes here as well, the waitress knew both Chinese and Viet. They also have soy sauce and chili oil at every table

Wok House is a really great surprise tucked into the most unassuming part of town. I honestly did not expect to find this kind of menu in Wylie, but I am so glad we did. Since it was cold out, we started with the crab and fish maw soup and it was comforting, rich, and full of flavor. The shrimp fried rice was solid and well seasoned, but the seafood clay pot is an absolute must order. It comes out hot, packed with seafood, and they definitely do not skimp. The staff was friendly, the food came out fast, and everything tasted fresh and satisfying. We will most definitely come back.

This new restaurant popped up on my Facebook feed and it's right behind the Golden Chick off of FM544 across the Target. I gave it a try and the food was delicious and authentic. I came a second time and looking forward to coming again. I tried their honey walnut shrimp and salt and pepper tofu. Both tasted very good and perfectly seasoned and flavored. Can't wait to try their other dishes including the canh chua and ca kho to! I would say it does get kinda busy since they just opened but definitely give it a try! UPDATE: I tried the canh chua and ca kho to as well as the suong. DELICIOUS! My fiancé and I enjoyed it a lot.

Great authentic little restaurant tucked away on FM 544. We've tried quite a few dishes already & since their menu is pretty extensive, we will keep trying more. Great service from this small family restaurant. Not pictured but we always get their coffee with salted foam, so so good, perfect amount of coffee & salted foam. So glad they opened up here!!!

Tried out Wok House in Wylie this week. Here is everything I ordered. 10 points being the highest. The Mapo Tofu did not have the traditional Chinese flavor so I give it a 6. The beef flat noodles was an 8. The stir fry garlic water spinach was a 8. The clams with basil was a 7. And the braised catfish was a 7, on the sweeter side. I'd go back again.

Got the whole family together to try the newest Vietnamese in the area and it did NOT disappoint! The restaurant had an aesthetic design and very clean. IT WAS DELICIOUS! We thoroughly enjoyed everything we ordered. They had a special for the canh chua, cá kho to, and water spinach with garlic with $50 something that was a really great deal. We enjoyed the wontons and ca kho so much that we ordered 2 of each. The salted cream coffee was legit Vietnamese ca phê. I'd rank their ca kho as #1, better than Bistro's and 286 Noodle House (2nd place). I'm super excited to have authentic Vietnamese dishes closer to home instead of traveling out to Richardson/Garland/Plano. Go support!!!

Don't let the name throw you off -- this new Canto-Vietnamese boutique spot might just serve some of the most authentic Cantonese/Vietnamese food you can get in DFW. I'm Cantonese, born and raised in China, so I don't say this lightly -- it's legit. The flavors are spot on and taste like home. We easily went through three small bowls of rice (yes, three ) with the savory eggplant, claypot spare ribs, and fish. Every dish had that comforting, wok-hei depth that's hard to find. The black bean clams -- my must-order at every Cantonese restaurant -- were especially on point. We intentionally over-ordered so we'd have leftovers for lunch and dinner the next day. It's that good. Definitely worth the drive.

We got the Thai Green Milk tea & the Earl grey matcha w/ boba. Both were splendid and great quality. The boba is perfectly cooked (which I can't say for most places) and the matcha is insanely high quality straight from Uji, Japan! What sets them apart is the high quality and how seriously they take crafting each drink. I highly recommend anyone to give them a try. I highly doubt you'd be disappointed.

I've been going here regularly, and as someone who's tried matcha drinks from other hyped up cafes in DFW, I can confidently say Boba Lush is one of the best. They told me their matcha drinks take longer to prepare, but it's so worth it since they whisk-to-order. The matcha is incredibly vibrant, and the flavor doesn't get lost with the other components, such as the milk, syrups, fruit, etc. I also like how because this is a boba shop, you can also use the standard boba sweetness scale for the matcha lattes. You can even purchase some tins they have on display; they have highly regarded and coveted brands like Marukyu Koyamaen, Kanbayashi Shunsho, etc. My favorite matcha drink so far is the crème brûlée matcha; the crème brûlée here is so delicious! The other matcha drinks are very solid too.
