I was in the Irving area running some errands and came across Lao Thai kitchen. I thought it had shut down, but it turn out it's under new ownership. The place's was clean, and the staff were friendly. I ordered the khao Pek Sen, and it was delicious with nice authentic flavor. Lao Thai Kitchen is the new go-to place right before flying out of DFW. They're less than 15 minutes away in Irving if you want a satisfying meal before you board a plane. Yelp didn't lead me here, it was the local Thai community that highly spoke of this place. I still checked to make sure the comments were on par with the word of mouth. This is a hole in the wall an unassuming place. Order at the counter and they will bring the food out to you. People come here for a quick authentic meal and items are self-service. They are also a small mini mart and have a variety of cooked and raw ingredients for you to take home. Everything is made to order. I watched them cooked things fresh and their kitchen is visible from the dining area. The key items which I really enjoyed: fried chicken skins, lao style pho, lao style papaya salad. The flavors were all there and their spice level 3 on a scale of 5 is pretty good in my book. Also highly recommended is the lao style coffee. read more

Ever bite into a dish and it just brought back childhood memories! Well that happened to me today! Their tum mak tua (long bean salad) was amazing! The perfect authentic taste I like! Long bean salad 10/10 Laab deep - raw beef salad 8/10 loved the extra cow skin that gave it an extra star. Most restaurants around the DFW doesn't add this! I was happy with the sticky rice but very disappointed with the Laap! I ordered chicken and it had beef!! To add to that it was over cooked and chewy!!!! Leo Thai Kitchen is a small restaurant and store in a strip mall. Staff were very nice. We ordered the Fish Mike, Pad Thai, and Pork Laap. The Pad Thai with Tofu had a good flavor. It was good but I would have like a bit more peanut butter flavor. The Pork Laap was excellent and probably some of the best I have eaten. Had an issue with the Moke. It had been made previously and heated. The majority of it was cold. We returned it. Even after reheating it still had some cold spots. Overall the food was good and a full of flavors. This restaurant is by far the BEST LAO restaurant in the Metroplex! I've been to most of them and this one stands out. The food is so fresh and amazing with the perfect balance of flavors and spice! I especially love the Green Papaya Salad, the Pad See Ew and the Pad Kana (crispy pork belly with Chinese broccoli). The portions are generous and the people are so friendly! I saw Lao Thai Kitchen on uber eats and thought that I would try it. I ordered my usual Pad Thai. I can honestly say that up until now I had never had a Pad Thai I didn't like. The dish itself had no Pad Thai sauce(a slightly sweet sauce). To me this dish tasted like only beef stock was added. I asked that it would be a level 3 in spice level. This dish had absolutely no spice to it at all. I had also asked for a combination of tofu and shrimp. They gave me chicken and beef, so clearly they didn't read my note at all. This is the worst Pad Thai I have ever had and I would not recommend it to anyone. The restaurant had a good uber eats rating, so perhaps their other dishes are awesome(just stay away from the Pad Thai). read more
