    707. Periwinkle in Spicy Tamarind Sauce
    Michelle C.

Don't expect exceptional service at any traditional casual Vietnamese restaurants. The focus is the food because that's basically all you're getting. Bistro B has always been super well known in the Vietnamese community. Growing up, every time I would come-I would get the basic pho and spring rolls. I haven't been since 2017 that I've gone and now I have a friend who's a super adventurous eater like me, so I got to choose around the menu. The menu blew me away because what place has a Vietnamese household's traumatic childhood staples like bittermelon soup?!? This entire meal was incredibly nostalgic and heart-felt for me especially since I haven't been back to Vietnam since COVID has happened. This is truly the most authentic Vietnamese restaurant that I have ever been to. Food ordered; - 707. Periwinkle in Spicy Tamarind Sauce (ỐC HƯƠNG SỐT ME): I have never seen a Vietnamese restaurant with snails before. I remember eating this all the time in the streets of Vietnam. The sauce and Vietnamese coriander were incredible along with the snail texture. - 23. Asian Crepe with Shrimp and Beef (BÁNH XÈO TÔM THỊT): It tasted like a solid definition of what Banh Xeo is supposed to be. The size of it though is insane to me. I've had Bánh Xèo at other restaurants-which are made to normal sizes, but this size is insane. Definitely ended up being leftovers. _ 119. Angel vermicelli served with grilled pork, and roast pork belly (BÁNH HỎI THỊT NƯỚNG VÀ HEO QUA): It tasted like how it is supposed to take. Definitely great dish as well. Portion size is also huge as well, so leftovers as well. Drink order: 413. ARTICHOKE BOM - NƯỚC MÁT (Artichoke Drink, Jelly, Basil Seed): I often get artichoke tea, so I was super excited to show my friend who has never had this before. It was way too sweet for us, but adding water into it definitely made it better. BTW, he ordered the durian smoothie which also tasted good, but it was less naturally tasteful than other places. Overall, this is the best authentic Vietnamese food I've had in a very long time. If you're an adventurous eater, I would definitely recommend trying something different other than spring rolls, pho, fried rice, or chow mein. Everything is super acquired though, but I truly do recommend if you're opened to it. ALSO, this has also been the best service I've ever had at a Vietnamese place. You don't come in ever expecting service. However, the lady who took care of us brought us new fresh plates for our new dish which shocked us especially as servers from an upscale restaurant. Water did take a while to refill, but the change of new plates blew us away. Thus, the food, service, and the super authentic and nostalgic ambiance definitely was an amazing experience. We are definitely coming back for more snails and other dishes!!

Bistro B!! I LOVE YOU!! The pork eggrolls are hands down the best eggrolls I've ever had in Texas!! Not only are they delicious - but the PRICE ($0.50 cents per eggroll), FOR THE QUALITY!?!??!?!?! UNBEATABLE. I came and grabbed a box for a family get together and they were such a hit!! Also - the customer service was great and the decor was so cute and classic!! 100000000/10 HIGHLY recommend!!

Our experience at Bistro B was wonderful. The service stood out immediately--our waitress was friendly, attentive, and always smiling. The menu is huge, almost overwhelming if it's your first visit. They have American fusion breakfast served all day, they have pho, Vietnamese, Chinese, Thai, and Korean dishes. The food portions were generous, and everything we ordered tasted delicious. We ordered #33, #66, #76, #128, #209, #211, #519, We also tried three drinks, all of which exceeded our expectations. The hot Thai green tea, even without boba, had a rich, creamy flavor that was excellent. The regular Thai tea with boba was perfectly prepared, and the avocado mango smoothie with jelly was thick, flavorful, and refreshing. Overall, almost every dish was delicious, just slightly sweeter than I expected. If the chef could reduce the sweetness in the dishes (drinks excluded), our experience would be completely perfect.

I went here for a work event and ordered a sandwich and some egg rolls, a bowl of Pho, and finished it off with some avocado boba. Overall this was a good experience! This restaurant is very reasonably priced and you get so much food. The broth was flavorful, the egg rolls and pork belly sandwich were delicious and crispy, and all the toppings on the table made it easy to elevate your plate with the flavors you like. The ambiance was nice, but nothing social. Our waiter was attentive and we all got our orders quickly and correctly. Overall a good restaurant. I wouldn't go out of my way to come here, but if there was gathering here, or I needed cheap, good food... then this is the place.

Salmon Vermicelli dish (I think this was #100 or 103 on the menu..can't remember).

The fact Bistro B is only rated a 3.5/5 is unfortunate. I'm honestly so upset I haven't heard of this place before now, but am very grateful to be in the know because I will definitely be a regular (so long as the issues I've seen in some of the reviews has been permanently resolved). The inside of the restaurant is really spacious & beyond what you order to eat, there are additional grocery items and other knickknacks for purchase that you can enjoy. There's large windows running around the perimeter of the building, so you can see into infinity and beyond...as far as the parking lot and nearby stores go lol. Since it's close to the Lunar New Year there's extra decor they've placed both indoor and outdoor, which is really cool to see. When it comes to food, they have an extensive selection to choose from. I really enjoy that they have a lot of photos to reference in their menu, especially for people like me that like to get an idea of what I'm ordering. During this visit I ordered their salmon vermicelli dish (Ca Hoi Nuong) , pork belly spring rolls & their Nem Chua Heo aka "vampire meat" I found over in their grocery area. Everything was made fresh to order & absolutely delicious. The vermicelli dish is quite huge portion wise, so come hungry or plan to have leftovers. The spring rolls were to die for. I've never had pork belly spring rolls and just loved the crunch from the skin bits they added in there, the moistness and rich flavor of the meat, chewiness of the rice paper & really well made peanut sauce. I'm so tempted to drive back over there just for those. The nem chua was also good, but just good lol. It's very similar to salami in taste if you've never had it before, but has a slight sweetness to it. I must warn that it is on the spicier side once you eat it as intended with the garlic & chili on top so have a drink ready. Overall I think this was the best $30 I've spent in a while. I can't wait to come back.

To me this restaurant is an experience and I love the ambience. The Curry Shrimp is a little spicy but not too spicy. The quail appetizer was spiced so well it was one of the best things I had eaten there. Very little wait time for a sit. Fast customer service

Man, we were really looking forward to tonight's dinner... We were not expecting our food to be served as quickly as it was! Unfortunately, that didn't help, it seemed like everything was pre-made & served lukewarm. Their General Tso chicken was hard, as if it had been cooked earlier that day and just sauced & served when we ordered it. For some reason my kid ordered pho, and it was not served until we were 1/2 way done eating. The egg rolls we ordered were not fresh... overall this was not a pleasant experience. This will likely be our last time we eat here. Hopefully we can still pick up their egg rolls and be happy with them.

#72 and Bo Kho (beef stew) with glass noodles instead of egg noodles were both excellent!! Served piping hot with super fresh ingredients. I eat a LOT of Vietnamese stew and this is as good as it gets, in the metroplex. Food was 5 star. The menu is extensive, largest Vietnamese menu I've ever seen. The plates and bowls were noticeably higher quality. Service from our waitress seriously lacked, only saw her when we ordered. Another waiter actually gave us good service by topping off of water and bringing an extra bowl. We were the only table in sight without a lazy susan of condiments (soy sauce, fish sauce and sriracha). Waitress never returned to check and I never saw her to flag her down. I had to flag down a different waiter to get the check and pay. One star deduction and my tip should've gone to the other waiters who helped us. Ambiance is trendy Asian, bright, busy and LOUD. Warning to those with sensory issues. My elderly mom with dementia was overwhelmed with the environment. Busy and loud are expected when a place stays packed because the food is crazy good. I highly recommend.

I came here on a Saturday morning and let me tell you, this atmosphere was electric at 1pm. They had deli food ready to go also and a lot of authentic Vietnamese treats and food. We got the BBH and I got the steak platter. The service was awesome and the food came out quick. For all the food you get its prices are also great. I give this place a 9/10. Can't wait to come back

    Fried tofu
    Kelly W.

This place has an extremely extensive menu that I really do think there is something for everyone here to eat. There's a lot of bright, colorful lights upon entrance, and the place seems always packed. The fried tofu we ordered was crispy, lightly flavored with salt and pepper. Perfect for vegetarians. The fried pork we ordered was also delicious. It's bone-in if that's not something you're looking for. We also ordered snails in coconut sauce which is a rare menu item to be found. It was really creamy and delightful. It did take some time for us to get the waiters attention for the receipt so we can go to the front to pay. Not pictured here but we also bought some matcha cookies at the counter. The cookies are huge! It's still soft on inside but crispy outside and we really enjoyed it. Overall all the dishes we ordered were really delicious with ample portions, and I highly recommend the restaurant if you're looking for a solid Vietnamese place to try.

This place is a drive from where we live in McKinney, but worth it. We've been there a couple times with fairly decent sized groups so we had the opportunity to try a lot of things on their menu. They have a dish (#117) that has 3 types of beef rolls which come with vermicelli, fish sauce, and an assortment of pickled veggies and lettuce. This is one of my favorite dishes and not a lot of Vietnamese places have this on their menu. I knew this is what I had to order and I was absolutely satisfied. I left filled to the brim even after sharing with others in our party. Their beef dishes were delicious, the fish sauce wings are huge and still crispy despite being drenched in sauce, and the chicken and salted fish fried rice was good. The papaya salad is not flavorful at all so we doctored it up with the condiments at the table. The salt and pepper squid was ok, but I've had better. They have a lot of dessert drinks/boba that are really good. Service is not good over all. Once seated it takes forever for someone to come back to take the order. The last time we had to go and grab someone after waiting so long. The first time our server was kind of rude and didn't really check on us after the food came out. The second time, our server was much nicer, friendlier, and more helpful. I say this so that you know what you're getting. Even with that, this place is worth it. Huge space, great for groups, a little over stimulating with the decor and sounds at times.

    Honey Lemongrass Chili Spare Ribs
    Lindsey C.

I go here often and the last time I went, got the Fried/Steamed Dumplings, Shaken Beef Fried Rice and the Honey Lemongrass Chili Spare Ribs. Everything tasted fantastic! The Fried/Steamed Dumplings turned out to be the perfect appetizer, I wasn't expecting to like it as much as I did. I have to say I definitely enjoyed the fried ones more. Both entrées had lots of flavor and the meat was cooked to perfection. The portion sizes are excellent at this place (I've almost always gone home with leftovers) and prices are great! Plenty of seating inside and they have some tables outside as well. It's a pretty good spot with tons of options, there's something for everyone!

My photos aren't the best bc we were all starving a fried rice in photo

    Open on Christmas?

Just called them and christmas is normal business hours

Are they offering dine in now?

    Yes they are.

Is this good for a group dinner of 50 to 100?

They have several tables, but they're round in the middle for 10. and along the sides are long booths for 6. So you can't all sit together. And you'll prob take up the whole restaurant. It's all one dining area and no separate party rooms.

    Do they have gift cards?

Not directly but you can make a gift card through websites and use them there. https://www.giftly.com/gift-card/bistro-b-dallas

I had two seasonal signatures that were perfect summer refreshers. My first was a pineapple rum cocktail called Lewis Street Daiquiri. The second was a very creative spin on a Negroni made with tequila instead of gin. Lewis Street Daiquiri uses a pineapple rum combined with Yuzu Kosho cordial. A yuzu kosho cordial is a sweet, syrup flavored with yuzu citrus and a spicy Japanese chili paste. It's a creative way bartenders add sweetness, acidity, and a spicy kick to recipes. It definitely had all of that along with a bit of a sour feel to it with some light froth from some vigorous shaking. It's really tasty. The second cocktail is JuJu's Negroni. I've never seen a tequila Negroni variation. They use a Blanco tequila, JuJu's coffee, Pamplemousse (grapefruit), and coconut. JuJu is a local East Dallas coffee shop around the corner from MHB. I love the local touch to use a neighbor's ingredient. I cant remember why is has a red tint given the ingredients, but it must be the combination of the coffee and grapefruit liqueur. I think i remember them saying they clarified some combination of the ingredients, but i cant remember. Regardless, it was delicious ams you should definitely try it. You don't need an excuse to go to MHB because it's one of the best restaurants in Dallas and is Michelin recommended. I would go@back for both of these cocktails like we do for the world famous garlic noodles. Go try these beauties and visit our hood because it's one of the best joints we have to offer in Dallas. You can tell they brew it and it doesn't come from a syrup. When I sat down, I was instantly greeted, and there were like four different people serving my table, I think that they all work as a team to make sure everything is covered. The service was just amazing. Restaurant is beautiful, the booths were , small and intimate and you feeling that you in place with privacy and yet part of the group ....kind of interesting how they've done that. But the food! The food was outstanding, first they gave me a complementary appetizer of Jasmine sticky rice with this eggplant chutney, that was very tasty, a teeny bit spicy, but really good depth with flavor. Then my beef Samosas arrived. There were four, wrapped in like a triangle rapper, smaller than the Indian version of the same, and the flavor was very tasty, and corn and small chopped potatoes, yum! The two chutneys that came with it one was a cool cucumber, and the other was this sweet and spicy plum sauce. They made samosas!!! They could be soft and cool, or they could be delicious and spicy, depending on chutney you had them with and you had a third option.... There was a bed of pickled radish and carrot that really sit off the samosas as well and we're just delicious on their own. I devoured the entire thing. Then get the entrée. I had drunken noodles and I added the shredded pork... It was devastatingly tasty!!! the noodles were obviously done it a wok that's been seasoned to perfection.
