Me, my wife, son and daughter went here to have a nice Pho dinner. There were two others tables occupied. But I thinks this elderly lady is the owner also sat us down. Then as we were trying to eat, she suddenly came to our table and start talking about religion and then went on to preach and trying to convert us. It was so uncomfortable sine I had my teen kids with us. I had to finally tell her to let people live and let live. Why did this lady and for that matter, why would anybody try to force their beliefs and their religion on other people? I just don't understand. Pho Truong is definitely one of the better Vietnamese restaurants I've tried in the DFW area (specifically Richardson). I LOVE Vietnamese egg rolls, so I always order them. The Crispy Pork Egg rolls at Pho Truong were exactly how I like them! The outside was crispy and perfectly fried, while the inside meat was still moist and flavorful. Honestly, they were some of the best egg rolls I've had! I would highly recommend. I also tried the P1 Pho Dac Biet. The Pho broth was very flavorful! This may just seem like a simple description, but I've had several bowls of pho that just didn't meet my flavor expectations. That was not the case at Pho Truong, as I just needed to add a pinch of salt to accommodate my taste buds. My only critique was that some cuts of meat were a little over cooked for my liking, but it did not heavily impact my overall enjoyment of the dish. read more

This is a little store in a strip mall. I came here for late lunch on a work day. Not too many people. The inside looks like an authentic Vietnamese restaurant so I thought that was a good start. The owner (lady) took my order and said the Bun Bo Hue is her favorite so I went with that. Skipped the pork leg but asked for the blood. The soup was pretty flavorful. Tasty home style food! This was one of my favorite places to go back in college. I stopped by recently to pick up food for the family and it's the same quaint and welcoming family diner. The taste of the food is still cozy and comforting. I have had the BBH, pho with everything and tom yum. Admittedly I'm a regular for one of these three items. But my sister is a huge fan of the cold vermicelli bowls with pork. My one sad point is that the prices have steeply risen, even compared to other pho places with respect to inflation. That's not a deterrent for me since they're just trying to stay in business but it will definitely result in my going less often, sadly. There is cheaper pho in Garland but if you're close by at UTD or working in the area it's a much more convenient location for the same quality of food. read more

Expensive pricing, and mediocre service. I understand that this place may be understaffed, and busy, so I don't mind that aspect. But when the food is starting at $12 for a small bowl of pho, that is excessive. As a server myself, I understand that COVID has increased the costs of restaurants and an increase is something I can understand. So I decided to just go with it and try. But the pho was not good at all, I could taste the excessive amounts of MSG, and I could tell the meat was not fresh at all. The chicken curry pho has so much flavor, it had me spooning out every last drop of broth. I adore coconut milk and spice together. This dish is a winner for me, and I probably won't ever get anything else here because I like this combination of Pho so much. As is, it isn't very spicy, but there is a plate of toppings that includes fresh sliced jalapeño peppers. Place a few of those in your bowl and let it steep. It will definitely kick the spice rating up a notch or two or three or four depending on how many and how long you let it soak in. There is also a bottle of siracha sauce that you can add, but I loved mine with just the fresh peppers added to the mix. Definitely tear off some fresh basil leaves and add bean sprouts. I didn't bother with squeezing fresh lime into the mix, but it is nice that they offer slices. For my dish, I had a choice of white or dark chicken. Since I was undecided, he offered me both. The shredded pieces were ample, and other than one small bite of grizzle, the chicken overall was nicely prepared. The rice noodles were plentiful. Even though pho means wide, the noodles were very narrow, but with so many mingled together, I had a mouth full with each and every slurp and bite. My husband and I shared some pork spring rolls. These were tasty, especially with the peanut dipping sauce. This was our second time here, and I definitely see myself returning as the weather cools. read more

I tried this place out last week since I was in need of hangover food, and it definitely delivered! I ordered the combination meat pho. The meats and the broth were all excellent! The cool thing about this place is that you can order small, medium, or large. So you get to pick the size depending on how hungry you are. They only gave me a small amount of toppings though (bean sprouts, basil, lime). Other pho places I've been to give you a larger amount. I do like the fact that they keep chili oil on the table without you having to ask for it. Actually, some pho places don't even carry chili oil at all, just chili paste. Great food. Clean place.
