I stopped by Hello Dumpling while visiting Dallas. When you walk up they have a humongous dumpling with huge chopsticks and as you come around the corner they have a really cute outdoor dining area. When you walk into the restaurant, you are welcomed with really cute decor, soft inviting colors, and really fun hanging lamps. They have a pretty good variety of options on their menu, my husband went with the chicken dumplings and he said they were no better or worse than any other chicken dumplings. He ordered me the chicken basil bites because it is one of the gluten-free items that he was able to get for me and they were absolutely amazing, very hot and fresh with a nice crisp and perfect amount of seasoning. And I absolutely loves the crispy basil that was hidden between the chicken! We also got the chicken dumplings steamed in rice and I wish they had a crispy option because the soft mushy rice was really weird. The flavor was good but the texture for me personally was just very offputting. My kids got the pork dumplings which they absolutely loved, they said it had way more flavor than the chicken and they wish they would have ordered more. Went here after seeing Triple D show. As this place is on the outskirts of an Asian area in Dallas the hopes were high. Unfortunately this place was a little disappointing. Small clean restaurant with polite staff. Food was served quickly after ordering at the counter. Came for the hand made noodles and dumplings. Whilst noodles were good, the dishes (braised beef and Peking style pork) missed the mark. The dumplings (pork and leek, shrimp and zucchini and pork soup) all had different thickness in terms of dough. Soup dumplings had little flavor. Found the food to be too westernized. When you have more Chinese and dumpling houses in the area, can't say I am rushing to go back to Hello Dumpling. read more

So when we stepped further down to order standing right in front of both young gals neither of them acknowledged us whatsoever for something like 2 minutes. Not one iota of recognition. Not looking up whatsoever at either one of us. It was as if they were deliberately ignoring us and wishing us go away. So we did. Found another good dumpling place elsewhere. This is quite the hidden gem. Not visible from the street, but worth the short walk to get here. It's bright and clean inside making it very inviting. The only issue I had with them is that they were lukewarm. As for the boba...I drink a lot of boba so I am aware of how fresh boba tastes-this boba was smiley and hard. It's a decent amount of food, and I was definitely full by the end of lunch. Pricing seems reasonable for what I got. Flavor-wise, everything tasted good. The pork was seasoned well, the dumplings were crisp but still juicy on the inside, the noodles were light and the sliced carrot/cucumber/bean sprouts were refreshing.
