It's one of those places that's easy to return to because the experience is consistently solid, not just the food. The cucumber and spinach salads are almost automatic orders for us at this point. They're reliably bright and well balanced, and come out quick. We also make a point to check out the specials whenever they're available. They tend to reward repeat visits and usually give us something new to talk about on the way home. What really keeps us coming back, though, is the staff. They're consistently well trained, kind, and attentive without being overbearing. Even on busy nights, things move smoothly and calmly, which matters a lot when you're fitting dinner into a full family schedule. At this point, Hello Dumpling feels dependable in the best way. Cute spot off Garland Rd in East Dallas. Parking can get a bit tight but well worth the trouble. Small location with plenty of seating for small and larger groups. They have a small patio designation that wasn't available when we visited. The staff is friendly and efficient. Ordered a beef soup and tasted the pork and cabbage dumplings, as well as the pancakes and the Hunan rib. Everything was delicious and filling. We came here on a whim after searching for gluten free dumplings in our area. It did not disappoint. Although, I do wish there were a bit more gluten free dumpling options, but the rice dumplings with chicken were still extremely tasty! My spouse got soup dumpling and wished there were more soup dumpling options than the pork. The pork ones were a tad over greasy, but not terrible. The highlight of the meal was for sure the cucumbers. Absolutely delicious. And the Thai tea was the top 3 I have ever had! The workers were extremely friendly and patient while we made our choices. Went here for an early dinner after a beautiful day at the Arboretum. Minimal line. Super casual atmosphere - you order at the counter and they bring it to you. We had several specials and usual menu items. Pickled cucumbers (so yummy and crunchy), Crushed veggies with sesame/peanut (flavor was good, it was crushed kale so interesting), scallion pancakes (crisp, delicious, my husband said flavor wise they were the best ones he's ever had), pork XLB (loved them, skin was thinner which was nice and the broth/meat were very good), pan fried pork dumplings (absolutely fantastic and savory), Peking style handmade noodles with pork (loved the fresh veggies, ground pork, seasoning, and texture of the noodles), chicken bao buns (while the outer bun was soft and tasty the meat was unremarkable - this was the lowlight of our meal and only thing we wouldn't order again). For dessert they had Taiwanese shaved ice as a special - we got the classic and shared - red bean, mochi, boba, etc. it was a perfect end to an excellent meal! The staff was friendly enough, but the food was just OK. The noodles were not bad for the price, but the skewer might had lemon or something marinated into it which gave it a somewhat sour taste, which was really off. The chicken bites had more breading than meat, but seasoned pretty good. First off, if you've ever eaten a rib, you HAVE GOT to try their Hunan Ribs! OMG! The rich and in-depth flavor of this rib is out of sight, next level. I highly reccomend them. My daughter and I decided to check out Hello, Dumpling after attending a nearby event. We were greeted warmly the minute we walked in the door. Service is counter service with table delivery. Everyone was super attentive and kind. Our food was delivered as quickly as, or maybe even quicker than, one can expect from a fresh, scratch kitchen. We were the only two customers at the off hour we went (2:45pm on a Monday), but I suspect this level of service would be consistent during a rush. The food was out of this world. Instant comfort the moment you bite into one of their house made bao. We tried the vegetarian and the chicken bao. We also shared a Chicken Chuanr skewer and Shanghai noodles. The noodles were house made, not just in claim but in taste, and their accompanying sauce had so many savory layers. The chicken skewer was expertly spiced with just a little edge of heat. If we hadn't been so full, we would have ordered more of everything. The space is modern and bright, with greenery complementing this naturally lighted space's vibe. The pickled smashed cucumbers were great and very light/refreshing. I order the pork soup dumplings which were a special. I don't think I would get them again as most of the soup leaked out and they didn't give a sauce to go with it. The soup dumplings are fresh, juicy, full of flavor, and piping hot! They offer a variety of side dishes. We didnt try anything we didn't like. The service was the best. They were all attentive and made sure we know what sauces paired well with each dish. The open outdoor seating is nice. If you want to get out the weather outside, they have a converted green house. A quaint little place. Parking in the complex is kinda difficult, we went on a weekend had parked on the other side and crossed over because the lot was full. We got the soup dumplings, beef noodle soup, peking pork noodles, and thai tea with boba. Soup dumplings: 3.5/5 they are just okay. Not the best but not the worst. I would not order again because they are two dollars per dumpling. Beef noodle soup: my favorite dish of the meal; beef is tender and the soup has a good spice that is enhanced by the bean sprout and bok choy. However there's a place in plano that has a chokehold on me for their beef noodle soup and this does not beat that. The noodles are a bit too thick for my liking. 4.3/5 Peking pork noodles: 3/5 not horrible but no where near my favorite and I would not order again. Spicy level was good but the minced meat in the noodles had an interesting flavor that wasn't my favorite. Thai tea: 3/5 the drink itself is solid BUT the boba is horrible, would not order again. Having an activation at the bar next door; I knew I was in dire need to eat something (since I don't take care of myself, especially when the husband is away.) as I had not eaten in 72 hours. But Lo and behold was I in for a solid treat. Here's how it went. Me not being to the bar next door, I didn't know if they were open but I'm always at something earlier than right on time. I paced back and forth and saw the dumpling signs; similar to a tardis, this place is a lot bigger than it looks on the outside. Immediately walking in, I was greeted with such enthusiasm. Being helpful the lady was giving me recommendations and I settled down with braised beef noods and some soup dumpling specials. As I got the dumplings she asked if I wanted the traditional dipping sauce and the other; I opted for both because why not? She then told me the noodles were going to be spicy if I kept the chili oil and that this would be a huge portion for food. I really appreciate that because some people are all about the money and not the experience. After ordering, they give you a little number that you prompt up on a stand at a table and the food is delivered to you. Upon getting the food here are my thoughts on it. Braised beef noods; broth is just about there. Needs a dash more salt or a bit more soy to be reduced. Quite tasty but just needed a tad more. The bok Choi was cooked a little too much for my liking so I didn't get to enjoy the crunch of a semi-cooked veggie. The beef melted into my mouth and fell apart every time I grabbed it with my chopsticks. Solid 8/10 Soup dumplings; it needed a bit more soup but it was truly delicious. Maybe a small spoon or pipette to squeeze into the dumpling itself. It was tasty and enjoyable and sort of messy. But I loved it. Would I come back? Yes. I'll bring the husband next time. read more

I'm used to the traditional spicy dish, but it was very mild if you're wary of the heat. * Handmade dumplings: We got the pork with napa cabbage and chicken with mushrooms. These handmade dumplings come in 8 pieces with either the option of pan-fried or boiled. I would say probably get a mix of pan-fried and boiled. We got all the dumplings pan-fried and it had a great crunchy texture, but would prefer to have some boiled dumplings to change it up. Location wise, they have a private parking lot, making it very easy to find parking. You order at the counter, then find your own seating. They have high stool or standard seating. Service was fast. I went to Hello Dumpling after a few years because I wanted to get some soup dumplings for my elderly mother. The employee updated me on the menu and pointed out specials, which was nice. I've tried this place twice and keep being disappointed. Tonight was the last straw Also, the peach dumplings are great but the peach dipping sauce tasted too chemical-like.
