Please note that parking in this area is particularly difficult but if you come in the morning, it should be easier to find. They have a small but mighty menu for breakfast and lunch. For my first time I decided to try their The Monte Duro, which is a pastry style "hot pocket" with smoked prosciutto, mortadella, mustard and jam. Ambiance: It is a very neighborhood coffee shop vibe. There is such cute decor inside but very minimal seating. I feel like the majority of people stand around or take it to go. The staff is not really friendly but the vibes were still peaceful. Mushroom grilled cheese: This was so yummmy!! The bread comes perfectly crispy and buttery. Such a gem of a coffeeshop! I definitely recommend getting one of their house specialties, though you can't go wrong with customizing your own latte (they have a variety of milks, even pistachio milk)! My favorites were the iced banana horchata latte and prickly pear matcha. So creamy and smooth, and such balanced flavors. I savored every sip! I've also tried the espresso grapefruit spritz before, which was unique and refreshing! I stopped by Cafe Duro to try their banana horchata matcha but they were out of it today. The two people behind the counter were nice and helpful. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I like the vibe of this place, it is more of a casual place to stand and drink coffee or wine.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]There is no seating in the cafe, but there are some standing tables.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I ended up getting a vanilla oat milk matcha latte and one of their italian sausage kolaches which were both great. The matcha was smooth and did not have any clumps which is always a great sign. The kolache was served hot and was nice and flaky with its croissant crust. The parking situation here is that there are limited spaces behind the store. When I went (10am on a Tuesday) there were several spots open. They also have valet parking but I am not entirely sure of the details on that. Overall I enjoyed this place they have a pretty standard vanilla matcha latte. To be completely honest, I heard the matcha at this spot was really good, so we decided to spend a morning bopping around lower Greenville. On our way in, I had a craving for an espresso tonic though, so that's what I ordered and it totally hit the spot. A good espresso tonic is the drink that really signals the start of summer for me and they executed it perfectly! I also really liked the banana horchata my cousin ordered. Cafe Duro has a charming and beautifully designed interior. It gives off a trendy, cozy vibe. The staff are friendly and welcoming, which is always a plus. However, it's important to note that there's no traditional seating available--only a few standing tables. So if you are planning to stay and work or relax, this might not be the best spot. More of a grab-n-go kinda spot. Parking can also be a bit of a challenge. They do have a small lot tucked away in the back, but it's very limited and often full. I tried their Banana Horchata Matcha, and while the concept sounded unique and intriguing, the execution left a little to be desired. The drink was visually appealing with its vibrant green color, but flavor-wise, it leaned heavily on the banana horchata side. I couldn't detect any matcha flavor at all--it felt more like a banana milk with a splash of horchata, dyed green. Not bad, but honestly, I couldn't taste any matcha at all. There's a lot to like about Cafe Duro. It has a cute ambiance, and the drip coffee was quite good. Service was relatively quick (although a long line grew after we arrived). The parfait and the banana horchata matcha were both quite sweet, no surprise. The matcha wasn't as sweet as it could have been (a good thing in my book), and the flavor was really nice. I'd get it again if I was in the neighborhood, but I wouldn't go out of my way for it. They were out of the McDuro breakfast sandwich and a couple other food items by the time we got there around 1 pm on a Sunday. So, that was a bummer. The mushroom grilled cheese was pretty delicious, though. Limited seating is one of the big drawbacks here, but that also might be a good thing, because the #1 reason I'm giving 3 stars is that when we left, after sitting on stools by the window far away from the kitchen (where we moved immediately after I took this photo) for about 30-45 minutes, our hair and clothes REEKED of cooking oil. I mean, it was so off-putting that we had to go home and immediately throw everything we were wearing in the laundry. So...yeah...I guess maybe grab-and-go is the move here, unless they can get their ventilation fixed. read more

The line does get a bit long on a Saturday morning, but it goes by quickly and we waited about 10 minutes for everything to come out. We ordered the cortado, spice latte, and banana horchata, chicken panini, raspberry lemon bar, and breakfast pizzeta. The pizzeta was my favorite as it was light, fluffy, and full of flavor. This is the second time I've came here and the same skinny short guy that's taken my order and doesn't put in my order and had me waiting for 2 items from the breakfast menu for like 30 minutes before I had to go and ask them myself and they never had put in my order. This second time I came in for only one coffee I ordered and saw everyone who ordered after me get theirs first after 20 minutes I went and asked them if my order was almost ready and they proceeded to ask me what I ordered because my order was never put in but for sure did take my money those both times. It was a delicious take on McDonalds' famous McMuffin sandwiches with fresher, tastier ingredients. The coffee was also of high quality. Found this shop on Yelp and it didn't disappoint. I was sold when I saw the Apple cinnamon matcha, unfortunately it's a seasonal drink. But they had a prickly pear matcha and it is so refreshing and bright. I really really liked it. We also got the huckleberry flash brew. To be fair put "huckleberry" on anything and I'm sold. So glad we popped in here for coffee! After lunch down the street we were looking for good coffee and this place did not disappoint. This has quickly become my go to weekend morning coffee spot! I have tried a few of their options and landed on alternating between the B&B or banana horchata lattes. The syrups all have rich flavor without being overly sweet, and the espresso is robust yet smooth. Unfortunately, I am not as big of a fan of their matcha, but would recommend any of their espresso drinks. I have yet to try any of their food but it always smells good when I arrive and i have seen a few plates that look appetizing. Their staff is very kind and willing to give recommendations. I will say that this is NOT a fast service place with expected wait time on a latte being 10-15 minutes. By no means is that a negative as the drinks are made fresh, but if you are in a rush, this might not be your best option. Lastly, the cafe itself is very aesthetically with options to shop for wine, candles, and other housewarming gift style items. This place is so dreamy. I love it here. It's like a cute Italian getaway in the heart of Greenville. Don't judge me but we came here 4x one month (oop sorry wallet). My fiancé isn't the biggest matcha fan but he's been recommended by a few ppl to try the prickly pear matcha from here and now it's the only drink he gets lol. We've had a few items on their menu, but our favs are their polenta bowls (I might prefer the mushroom one more than the meatball one), chicken panini and salmon bagel. My fav drink is their banana horchata! But it's better to be had to dine in than to-go. Their sister restaurant (literally called Sister) offers covered patio seating during the day. The mid century modern, European aesthetic and unique beverages make this place one of a kind and absolutely worth a visit! The have food, wine, coffee and cocktails. I went with my sister and brother-in-law the day after their wedding and we desperately needed a caffeine pick me up. Originally we were going to get our coffee and leave but it was so inviting that we hung out and had a wonderful time! I tried the Nutella blackberry nitro cold brew and it was soooo good I got a second one for the road.
