This is a new spot - serves both coffee and alcohol. I was so thrilled to see an option for a drink with clarified milk - the berry dreams was great for me. All the sweetness of a milk in a fruit based alcoholic drink was music to my taste buds. It was expensive, but bland on top of not being very filling; there was one slice of tomato about 2 inches around on each slice. The avocado was sparse, which is odd considering that is supposed to be the main staple of this dish. My friend ordered her own and didn't like it, either. It feels a little European bistro-y.. casual outdoor seating nestled between 2 buildings along a bustling shopping street in the Bishop Arts District. Boutiques, bakeries, and bars, oh my. My friend and I had a couple mimosas (orange + pineapple, mmm), and I also had a double espresso. Delicious coffee. My favorite part is that they served the espresso with a shot of sparkling water in a tiny crystal glass. It's the little things that you remember and make you want to go back! I have never been to Bishop Arts late at night until this past Saturday. One of my friends had suggested this place and it was great that it was still opened past mid night while some places in the area were closing up at 12:00 AM. The exterior was cute, but the interior was even cuter! We went on a cold and sprinkling Saturday night, yet the aesthetic and vibes of this place radiated so much. I was told it was a nice and classy coffee shop during the day time, but at night it's more lively, yet still had the coffee shop vibes. Seeing the decor and the demographics, I just felt so comfortable. I ordered the Espresso Martini and the Peaches, Peaches, Peaches. I had also tried my other friends' drinks including the Pep In Ya Step and Chai Again Next Year. They were all pretty good! I personally didn't finish neither of my drinks because my body was still digestively-traumatized from all the liquor from the night before, but I know that if I didn't full send the night before, I wouldn't 100% enjoyed and finished the drinks. The bartender was very nice and fast. Even though it was busy, I could tell that he had a nice and friendly aura plus he was very pleasant to watch since he did some bartending tricks. At the same time, there was live music. A little band which was very lively and very interactive with the guests which I liked a lot. Overall, it's a nice, classy, more-intimate, chill place to have a night out at. The staff as well as the clientele all made me feel very comfortable there. I visited La Reunion over the weekend and had a terrible experience with the service. The bartender was visibly annoyed and incredibly rude when we simply asked for water and ice. To make matters worse, the pricing was completely unreasonable--we were charged $33 for a single shot of well tequila that wasn't a full shot... and an espresso martini that came in the tiniest glass I've ever seen. The drinks were watered down, and my cousin couldn't taste any alcohol in hers. It felt like the staff was intentionally overcharging us and under-pouring to make us feel unwelcome. It was cold and sterile unfriendly and bougie in there even though it was hot outside. Save your money and go somewhere that actually values customer service. The whole Bishop art District was snooty bougie and unnecessarilyoverpriced. I think they want to be eclectic cool and trendy but it's a real stiff vibe not worth the experience. read more

I ordered an espresso martini and it was small but strong and it tasted like it was made with high quality espresso. I came alone to read a book and have a couple drinks, but left quickly after one martini due to 3 things. It was very hot because of the indoor/outdoor design that made me feel like I was sitting on the patio even though I was inside. Because of the open area, there were a copious amount of flies buzzing around me the entire time. But ultimately, I got up and left because of how unbelievably loud the music was. In my opinion, this is more of a bar/lounge than coffee shop. I would go again to grab a coffee togo but I wouldn't come here expecting a nice study or relaxing space. read more

My friend had the chicken tacos which she ate the whole thing but the BEC was a definite disappointment. No caramelization on the bread at all. It could have been toasted. And the cheese seem to be Velveta cheese. Really didn't see the avocado. The potato chip really threw me. The sandwich to elevate the dish could have been served with some type of fried potatoes with rosemary. This was a no dish for me. I got a large iced oat milk latte with honey & cinnamon & honestly my coffee was so milky... The regular and the large have the same amount of espresso shots so you're really just paying for extra milk & yeah, you can taste it. Ordering was a little awkward.. she just didn't seem very friendly but that's fine. The doors are open.. I don't know if it's because their AC is out but there are so many flies everywhere even in the bathroom. Had the pleasure of visiting this place in Bishop Arts late night scene. We had a few things off the menu which was chicken pizza, cheese pizza and two different types of wings. All in all the food was good I would suggest they cook the wings a little more cause they was just too soft but not undercooked. Drinks were good it was cold so we started with an Irish coffee. The service sucks. The coffee is so so. The food is good. The live music is great. I visited for the first time on a business trip and visiting the area before purchasing a condo nearby. This place is literally less than 1000 feet from my place and I've never gone back because of the experience. I sat down at the bar and I saw a bunch of people eating, and I saw someone in the kitchen bringing food out to people. And I saw a young woman working behind the counter. I thought OK I can place an order with her. No one greeted me or said a word to me. The young woman gave me the Gen Z stare. After 15 minutes of being ignored, I finally had to ask a customer next to me, "how do I order here? There are no QR codes? Everyone is ignoring me? Do I just go up to the counter? It's laid out like a restaurant. I'm confused." Yes, for the people visiting for the first time! You must go to the counter and order or they will ignore you. No soup for you! The breakfast burritos were very tasty and reasonably priced. I ordered my usual latte with oat milk and it was so so. I think Palmieri next door has the best coffee in Bishop arts. Always go Italian. Lesson learned. A happy customer will say very little to anyone.. An annoyed one well tell at least 23 people. How hard would it have been to say "hey sir, you have to order at the counter?!" I can hear their live music in my living room. I don't have to go in person. It's pretty good. I might sound harsh, but I worked every job in a restaurant in college and high school and I have high standards for service and this was just crap. Not only is the area so eclectic and enjoyable to just be present in, La Reunion provides a welcoming atmosphere that lets you be comfortable and relaxed.
