This was a must on the list of places my sister wanted to take me to and I'm glad she did. Walking up to the door, I could already smell the aroma... smelled heavenly. I love the smell of good coffee in the morning. What made it even better was that the staff was really friendly, and I loved the vibes of the coffee shop itself. They were pretty busy too, good sign. It's a tiny shop, spacious enough to stand around and wait for our order, but not big enough to have enough seats for everyone who was there who ordered, or was waiting to order drinks (but most folks did take it to go, aka us). There are a few tables/seats up front, a cute area in the back, and a couple small tables just outside the door. We both ordered one of the specials, the Cinnamon Croissant Latte. Not gonna lie, the tiny little croissant in the photo is what reeled me in-- luckily it wasn't a false advertisement... it was a yummy little guy! & the drink was really good! Oh, and they got it out to us quickly despite how busy they were. If it wasn't so far from my sister, we'd probably have gone back another round but we couldn't quite fit that extra drive into the schedule. So yes, they get a 5/5 for me. Please note though, parking is sparse and from what I've noticed, they're not in the best of areas... but from my experiences, those places have always served up the good stuff. Hola Café caught my eye with their signature cold foam coffee and matcha lattes! They had unfortunately sold out of their Fall special, the cinnamon croissant latte, by 2:30 pm on a Thursday. I opted for the horchata cafe, which was a combination of rice milk, cinnamon, espresso and sweetened with condensed milk. It was somewhat reminiscent of a Vietnamese iced coffee, but I wish it had a stronger espresso taste. It started tasting like sweet milk as the ice melted. The interior of the cafe is super quaint and artsy. There were a few small tables and one long table in the front, as well as a more casual seating area in the back. It was a great spot to do some reading/journaling, and several others were studying. I wish they were open later! I'd come back again to try one of their cold foam drinks. read more

Ordered: Iced Dulce Latte (~$6): condensed milk, brown sugar, cold foam, espresso Iced Strawberry Matcha (~$7): Japanese matcha and strawberry puree Aya's take: I was in downtown Dallas for 2 days and came here both days as we didn't find anything better or in the same caliber. The first day, I got the Iced Dulce Latte which is typically overly sweet but they were able to make less sweet which I think is the way to go. It was still sweet but more balanced by the espresso and creaminess of the cold foam. The second day, I got the Iced Strawberry Matcha which was more up my alley. They use a good quality matcha and the strawberry puree which didn't taste artificial at all. It didn't need any additional sweetener since the strawberry puree did the job. Hole Cafe is a vibe. I went on an early Saturday morning and it was buzzing. I can tell it's a stop after a Pilates class or a meet up with friends spot. Aesthetically it's simple yet tailored by choice. As it was later in the morning only one loan cookie was left...I nabbed it. I ordered a matcha, dolce latte and drip coffee. When I view the pictures I had hope for the matcha but for my taste buds it didn't meet. It's a very manufactured taste lacking the essence of matcha. I didn't ask for it sweet and forgot to say not to as I am use to it coking sweet automatically. The Dulce latte even with an extra shot is super sweet. I get why it's popular but for me to sweet to enjoy. The drip coffee lacked flavor but was piping hot. The order was the fastest I have ever had fulfilled though. After I paid less than two minutes they called my number. All in all for me Hola Cafe missed but I still say check it out as many seem to enjoy it as a spot to spend catching up. I really tried to like it, I just couldn't. The coffee was not good. It was incredibly bland and flat. I got a strawberry latte that had no taste of strawberry. Needed a matcha fix while in town visiting a friend and this place was nearby. The line was long but they moved quickly! I decided to try their cinnamon roll matcha latte but disappointed that I forgot to ask for oat milk. Normally, baristas ask which milk but I was kind of overwhelmed and already lacking caffeine! The drink was pretty good but even at half sweet, it was a tad too sweet for me. That's just my personal preference. Im one of those that likes to taste the grass! Haha. Picked up a couple of pastries but pricing was good on everything and service was fast and kind. Parking can be a bit of a hassle since it's street but dont let that deter you from stopping in to support! I even brought a sticker back to DC with me for my laptop collection. The inside seating isnt the largest but people seemed to rotate pretty quickly as I was waiting in line. It was a bit loud but that doesn't bother me. If you want a quiet cafe to work from, I would probably not pick early mornings here. Just avoid the rush. Otherwise, I could see myself sitting in to enjoy my matcha on my next visit. read more

My first thought walking in was that one, it smells really good, and two, it feels like I walked into a museum. Their shop has an artsy ambiance with its still-life paintings and minimalistic furniture. The aesthetics continue to carry on into the bathroom - beautiful decor and very clean! They have hand lotion as well, which is always a nice touch. DRINKS: Hola has a permanent menu, but they seem to be known more for their rotating seasonal drinks. I've been here 2x so far, both times getting an item from their specialty menu. The first time I tried a drink off their Valentine's menu where I got the Strawberry Chocolate Latte - I thought it was a solid drink overall and visually appealing, although nothing to stand out ish in flavor. The second time around, I got to try the Peanut Butter Latte on their PB menu. I wasn't sure how well PB would pair w/ coffee, but they crafted the drink so well I LOVED IT. It was a perfect balance of PB and espresso. All the flavors balanced each other out with a smooth texture. Probably one of my favorite lattes I've had. Parking - can be competitive, given that it's street parking, but I think it's worth the struggle. I went on a weekday and it was still pretty full. Finally finally finally got to visit Hola Cafe!! Spent a lovely late morning here co-working with my colleague and absolutely adored our visit. Nestled on the edge of Oak Cliff/Bishop Arts, this is the newest location after they moved across the street. When you walk in, it just feels like you're hanging in the streets of LA. The vibe is just dope. There are large, bright windows that bring in beautiful, natural light and the perfectly monotoned decor just seals the deal. Best part? The coffee is flipping delicious. Iced latte here was exquisite. I also splurged on a glazed donut because why the hell not? Fluffy goodness! I can't wait to come back and just hang here for a few hours. Hola Café is one of the few coffee shops open early in Dallas. After an irritating search that populated nothing but Starbucks and a bunch that were opening soon, I decided to pop in to this one. The atmosphere when you walk in super cozy, with locals chatting, different styles of tables and chairs set up for a second office space or just to lounge and enjoy a good brew--which is what I'm enjoying right now! I tried the Dulce Latte iced with a Banana Cold Foam (i know, right?. It was the perfect balance of sweetness, without the diabetes you get from Dunkin Donuts, and espresso. (i was sooooo aiming for a warm coffee after my workout because i was cold, but the barista suggested that the banana cold foam tastes mid when it's warm, his service was awesome as well!) When you search for their address it will show you the location right across the street, I think they moved to other side recently. They have plenty of street parking and not many people around. When you walked you, you felt so peaceful and you will vibe with the environment immediately. It's hard to find a spot to seat because every seat were taken, some were doing work and some were just chilling and enjoying coffee. I love that they have no computer zone.
