Haven't visited in a long time. Not sure but I'm thinking there is new ownership? I tried asking but they wouldn't elaborate just that they're no longer doing points. They weren't too friendly with the customers after us which was a turn off. I had the café con leche and it wasn't the same. You really can't go wrong with this drink. Not sure what happened here. It wasn't great. My friend had hers iced and she said it was okay. She also had an empanada and couldn't finish it. It was supposed to be ham and cheese. There wasn't much ham, just lots of cheese. I stopped in at Espumoso with my husband and brother last weekend when we were exploring Bishop Arts for an hour or so. We had gotten in late the night before (well, 2am that morning, really) due to delays and then had gotten up early that morning to attend a high school graduation. So by the afternoon, I needed a coffee. Badly. So we stopped in a Espumoso and grabbed a couple of coffees (we didn't eat, because we had dinner reservation in just an hour or so, but I'd love to try their food another time). My espresso was exactly what the doctor ordered. The cafe is small but comfortable, and the service was fantastic. Just a very nice experience. Great spot to duck into and grab an iced coffee as you continue exploring the Bishop Arts area and all it's charm. While shopping for vinyl down the way I was ready for a caffeine kick I noticed Espumoso Caffe. Popping in there was no line so we were able to get our iced coffees super fast. Cool spots to sit and hang out for a minute if you got sometime. There was also a nice couch spot in the corner with free magazines to read. As I read other reviews I am sad I didn't take advantage of ordering and having an empanada. Next time I am in the area I will definitely come back in and try one. read more

Espumoso Empanadas! This little communist themed coffee shop seems to be the place on Bishop to get coffee and empanadas! When I stopped in, I didn't realize it was the clerk outside having a cigarette that she jusst lit up... I went in, and she seemed annoyed right off having me in there. I got an empanada to go, which was pretty dang good. It was a light fluffy pastry around some picadillo ground beef, fried to perfection. The empanadas are pre-made, and kept hot in a special heated box. They offered a wide variety of coffees, but I declined. The decor seemed to be locally themed art, with neat and interesting stuff. I thought the place was cool and had good music, so I jammed out on the patio with my empanada instead of taking it to go. The clerk got back to her smoke, so everything worked out. read more

The coffee was fair. Kind of expensive. $7 after a tip for one lg flavored coffee. It was very sweet also. The Cuban coffee was not very strong and was also very sweet for my tastes. The empanada was small and just ok. They have great pastries! I ordered the Romeo and Juliet, which is guava and cream cheese. The breading itself was extra flaky but still held sturdy. The only complaint I have was that the inside feeling could've been more warmed up. The cream cheese was still somewhat cold, but I was glad that this was not lava hot. The lemon bar was ok. While Im glad it was not sickly sweet, its lack of pop in lemon, sugar, or a buttery crust left me in buyers remorse. While I will not completely dismiss their lemon bars, I personally cannot recommend them. Nor would I buy them for myself. If you are craving a lemon dessert but want it mild and tame for your tea time, then this is a great match for you. While I did not try their smoothies or coffee, it seems like everyone was in there ordering drinks. That seems to be their main business, even though their empanadas are specialty of theirs. read more

Beautiful was their "Caffee Con Leche". Amazing was their guava and cream cheese filled "Romeo & Julieta". Tasty was the filling of "Beef and Potato", sadly the crust was hard due to it was overheated. Wow, what a great empanada! I get the beef and potato ones and they are so flavorful - even without any additional sauce or salsa. I really love coming to this cafe and the most recent time I was pleasantly surprised that they didn't have the AC blasting and it was still comfortable. The only downside I'd say is that their wifi network was giving me some issues but I just used the hotspot on my phone and I was able to work just fine. read more

Situated in the very heart of Bishop Arts, this is one of my favorite coffee shops. The coffee is wonderful and they have a full selection of Latin American pastries as well as ice cream. The window seat is the best spot for people watching in the neighborhood. I like that they have local art hanging on the walls and a bulletin board for community events. During COVID they've set out some sidewalk cafe tables which is much appreciated. A few caveats: MIND THE STEP! Even when I'm looking out for it, I feel like I stumble over it every time.
