Staff was nice and friendly, the place was packed, and while the latte was good, it was a bit too milky for my taste.

The vanilla latte was so good! It was one of the silkiest and smoothest lattes ever. I'm very impressed by their skill. Latte was also good. I think next time I will ask for more vanilla because I didn't get any vanilla flavor at all and vanilla is usually subtle. Wow! Such a cute lil coffee shop inside of a church. I stumbled across this place via Yelp! I'm currently out of town and visiting Dallas for work, so I was happy to see Yelp point me in the right direction once again. So I've been here the past two mornings getting coffee while my fiancée goes to the gym to train with her personal trainer. The first morning I went was a lovely experience. The barista that day was so lively and just super nice. She served me up a espresso shot on a cute little wooden platter with a shot of sparkling water for the taste buds and a little spoon to get the foam off the espresso. Such a nice touch that made the experience pleasant. The espresso shot was good and I made conversation with some of the church goers and ended up trying some of their brew that was on drip. It had deep and fruity flavor tones. I loved every sip! Today I went and it was a little more packed. They had a couple baristas behind the counter. I got a cold brew and a water. Cold brew is basically like any cold brew you'd get, not super special but it hit the spot still this morning! With a hint of cream and a little touch of honey it was still great. I love the atmosphere here. That's what keeps bringing me back. It's just so peaceful and relaxing. Most likely because they're doing prayer and worship in the other room, but the vibes are great here, nice natural lighting coming through the windows, etc. it's just a nice place to start your morning and also get some prayer in while you're there! All the folks are super nice here, so don't be afraid to ask questions or ask for drink explanations. They'll gladly help you decide what to go with. :) Stop by if you're close! read more

Cute, small, hidden coffee shop that is connected to a church. Plenty of parking, easy to find if you look for the large UR sign. I was there on a weekday morning and it was a bit crowded/ loud with regulars chatting before class and parents dropping off their young ones in the (also connected) daycare. So great place for socializing or doing light work but perhaps not the best for serious studying. Overall, I liked the community and homely vibes this place has though I felt a bit out of place. Most importantly, I had an AMAZING drink - one of their specialties - the Velvet Orange. The barista described it as a layered coffee drink with an orange Italian cream foam top. It was delicious. Loved the balance between the hot coffee and cooler foam. Would definitely recommend this drink to those who like orange-flavored, citrus tones in their coffee. I love this cute little spot. It's located inside a church (Upper Room). The latte I got was so delicious & Staff was very friendly. The interior is decorated with glass crystals hanging from the ceiling & wooden tables. I wish they were open longer though, because this would be the ideal place to hang out & study for a bit. Hands+Rose Coffee is part of The Upper Room, a Christian worship/prayer venue. That being said, Hands+Rose is often frequented by members of their church and Christian music can be heard from the speakers and from next door. The barista and everyone there were very friendly. If you're looking for a place to study though, this place is not it. There are only 2-3 main tables, wifi is pretty bad, and it can get loud because of the above mentioned. I got an iced honey lavender latte, and the drink was good. I would recommend this place if you're just chatting with a friend or picking up a drink. If you need to study or get work down, you should probably go somewhere else. read more

I've drank a lot of chai teas, this was the best I've ever had. I got it iced because it was hot out. My only complaint was that I couldn't connect to the WiFi. I ended up restarting my computer to try to get it to work. It didn't. I had to leave and find a Starbucks that I knew had reliable internet to get some work done. read more

I am a USM student and I am in the prayer room for many mornings, noons, & nights. I love receiving from here and the bonus is there being Hands + rose. This isn't just a coffee shop, they are family and I feel so welcomed. The barista's are amazing and they serve with humility and intentionality. One of my favorite things is seeing them smile while they make coffee, because they love making coffee. The coffee does the job and man I love it here. Ordered a Cortado here. Espresso was wonderful, and the staff was very friendly. Spent about an hour in the seating area. It was comfortable. Only complaint is that all the cups are to go/paper. I personally prefer my coffee out of glass/ceramic- it looks like their space was fairy limited so perhaps there's no room for a dishwasher. Really great wholesome gem that is connected to a wonderful church. The interior is very modern, and there is a decent amount of seating available. You will also have the opportunity to meet several members of the church staff as well. In regards to the coffee, it is very reasonably priced, and you can get half off your first drink when you check in on Yelp. The staff is very professional and welcoming, so definitely give them a tip for great service! I ordered the iced honey lavender latte. Although it was not the best coffee I had ever tasted, it did have a nice hint of lavender throughout and a balanced level of sweetness with the honey. THIS PLACE IS A CULT. You think it's a coffee shop you're wrong. The coffee shop is a front to get people in the door for this "world famous church" It's a non-denominational church, with lots of people holding prayer circles around you. Be prepared to smile and have spiritual conversations by everyone. Jerry came up to me and showed me the music room with all the seats. He said this place is world famous and holds world class dancers, musicians and artist BUT god is protecting it and keeping it safe so it won't grow and become a Megachurch. The coffee was good actually but the whole atmosphere was so off. If you're serious about your religious beliefs or you're an atheist, this place will not be for you. So it was really tough to find but the vibe is chill and laid back. Coffee is goo and the barista was knowledgeable. Asked for my vanilla latte half sweet and the vanilla was hardly discernible. Rather not sweet enough than squinty your face too sweet! I think it might be connected to a church. I'd go back and get sweeter next time. read more
