The matcha was fairly watery and pretty pricey given that it did not taste the best. Additionally, the cortado was really bitter and also more expensive than other local options. Someone said this cafe was a work from home heaven, and I'd 100% agree. This cafe has lo-fi music and nothing wordy or loud. Easy place to concentrate. Does feel like an upscale corporate office. a wfh paradise, except i dont mean it as a compliment. the shop is cute, but in a sort of vast, stale way that makes it more of an office than gathering space -- the shop was dead silent the last time i came in. I know the design district is expensive, but the prices push it even for the neighborhood. to add to that, the wifi rarely works, defeating its one strength as a good place to work. the staff was very kind though, and of course the coffee is high-quality. if you're looking for somewhere with a little bit more soul, i would just go down the street to triumph's. read more

I'm so glad I stumbled upon Wayward Coffee Co upon searching for a coffee shop to get some work done! The space is very big, bright, and welcoming with lots of beautiful greenery, making the study/work experience much more enjoyable. There's plenty of seating, including large tables that can fit up to 8 people, small 2 seaters, and couches. There's also a private community room, but I'm not sure if it requires a reservation or fee. Drinks were priced on the higher end. I ordered an iced chai, which was pretty standard. The service was also fairly average. There is a private parking lot available in the front and extra available behind the building. Overall, I'm really glad I made the trip from Fort Worth to here! I highly recommend this spot, especially if you're needing to hanker down and are looking for a productive place to study/work. read more

They had your usual coffee/locally supported beer draft options. There were some baked goods for nibbles. Seasonal menu lead me to a choice of pistachio latte float. The foam is pre-made. I got my latte with oat milk. It came cold. Only a star off for off flavor. The foam tasted sour. Barista was cool with remaking it hot. Second try/time was the charm! They had WiFi. The day I came there was a catering popup by Molino Oloyo who were serving tacos (from breakfast to wagyu confit and more). You may be in for a treat depending on when you stop bu during the week. It was a little tough to have someone crack a smile behind the counter... and I feel like that's just something you need when you're spending $7 on a coffee. The coffee was excellent! I even purchased beans to go! However, it took a bit for the ladies behind the counter to even acknowledge me, and when they did let's just say "beige wall". Not your typical super warm and inviting vibe that you'd typically get in a neighborhood coffee shop. It felt more like a club where I was an uninvited "guest". I came here for my birthday a few weeks ago after a friend recommended them. I really loved the atmosphere here, it was calm and inviting! The choice to have plants all throughout is such a good one, I really liked the decor. After asking tons of questions, the baristas never seemed put off by it and they answered all of them kindly. Dropped by here (OK, in fairness, made a trek) furthering my quest to find top tier espresso in the Dallas area. Spurred on by their menu stating "rotating single origin options", I had high hopes. Upon arrival, I found that they do offer single origin espresso, but typically just one espresso option (other than their default used primarily for milk drinks. Today's offering was an Ethiopia Yirgacheffe Chelbesa by Parlor, with notes of honey, bergamont, and raspberry. Since espresso was what I was here for, but knowing that I also love a great cortado, I opted for the "one and one", a great option to get both. It's a split shot, half neat, and half with milk like a mini cortado or macchiato (in the Italian sense, not the Starbucks sense). This turned out to be a great choice. It's really two tiny drinks, coupled with a tiny sparkling water palate cleanser, but if you're after flavor and not a thirst quencher, it's just the thing. The espresso was bright and fruity with no hint of bitterness. The cortado was creamy but not overly "milky". Both very nice. As for the decor and overall appearance of the place, well, it's nice, but it's a little utilitarian in terms of seating and tables, and the lighting could use some upgrades. In fairness, it does have two large skylights to let in natural light, so that's good. But the tables are accommodating for laptops and other tools of coffee shopping, and there were plenty of folks (myself included) doing just that. Really, though, I was here for the "for here" coffee, and it did not disappoint. The bagged coffee selection was a little sparse, and many of the bags didn't have roast dates, so I passed for this visit. read more

Stopped by Wayward late Saturday morning, and it was decently busy inside. I ordered an iced lavender latte. It had a less strong espresso flavor than other lavender lattes I've had, and a nicely prevalent lavender flavor. Overall, I think it was pretty good. My latte came out to about $6, which I believe is pretty standard for coffee these days - especially from aesthetic cafes. There's neighborhood street parking nearby as well as some parking spots on the side of the building. read more

My husband and I popped in here for an afternoon pick me up. This was our first time visiting. The coffee shop was super busy, almost every seat was taken. We both ordered a vanilla latte and enjoyed our drinks. I absolutely loved all of the plants that were inside! Literally, plant heaven. I liked that there's a conference room in the pack of you were wanting to work with a team/group. My only gripe is that I think charging $1.50 for flavoring is a bit steep, personally. We bought a bag of coffee beans and it was probably the most expensive bag of beans we have ever bought ($19!). They were very good though, as we tried them the next day. read more

QUALITY COFFEE! My husband and I went here for the first time this morning after hearing great things about it. He ordered a cold brew light ice, and they listened (which almost never happens at other places); he also got Costa Rica Finca from Proud Mary. The cold brew was so smooth and rich: no bitter or burnt flavors. I ordered a lavender latte with fat free milk. It was also delicious, not surgery sweet at all. Finally, as a breakfast snack we got the bacon, chive, and cheddar scone! It was rich and savory! We will definitely be back. There's lots of space to work or chat with friends. On a whim I drove up - it's pretty far from where I live but I decided to run an errand and wanted to check it out. I used to work at a place that had an employee who had connections with wayward so I was super excited to try it. Overall I enjoyed my time here. It was pretty quiet even though there were a good amount of people. It would be a good place to study and get work done. It's simple yet eclectic in a way. You would understand after walking in. I got comfy on a couch but had to charge my laptop at a table. Con- The tables along the wall all are super packed together and I was almost touching one of the poles in the place where the outlet went. I don't like sitting that close to other people because I like space and privacy but someone sat right next to me and so I left shortly after. Coffee taste- I tried a new latte but didn't like it so asked to replace it with a honey latte which is my usual and it was great! I ended up adding more sugar bc if I'm going to drink something with sweetness I prefer it sweeeet. The staff member that greeted me was super nice and the barista that remade my drink was not as easy to talk to but still kind. If it's on the way for me I'd definitely try out the other Wayward location. read more

I love the smaller Wayward in Oak Cliff so much and was excited to try this new location over in the design district. The biggest difference is that this place is huge! There is endless seating from couches to tables to bar stools. The place was filled on the weekend, but the noise level was not so hard to deal with. The aesthetic is a lot glossier than the the older one, but it makes sense for the neighborhood. Just like the original location the coffee is excellent and I enjoy the specialty drinks like the A24 menu and some of the specially cold brew cocktails. I do wish they had a few more vegan pastry options, but I don't hold it against them. The baristas are always friendly and pick out great music. While I prefer the cozier Oak Cliff shop, I would not hesitate to come to this location especially because it is open later. read more

Just beautiful. This is the first time I've ordered a decaf oat milk latte, and it was really strong and bitter. I don't think I drank even 1/3 of it, but I'm not sure if that's because it was decaf or because of the beans they use, the technique, etc. So in terms of drinks, it was a miss, but that was that one drink.
