The new Dallas location of Inclusion Coffee officially opened today, August 1, 2026, at Trinity Groves, located at 2350 N. Beckley Ave, Suite #100.
The grand opening featured prizes, free perks, the ever popular "Bookish Bazaar" vendor market hosted by Pretty Little Things Market NTX. Despite the enormous space, it actually got pretty crowded.
This shop expands on the original flagship near the University of Texas at Arlington. The 5,500-square-foot space has the same multi-level mezzanine layout (called "The Grotto") built for studying and remote work. The huge loft was developed in partnership with the national developer Mill Creek Residential, which selected Inclusion Coffee "as the anchor tenant to satisfy the city's Mixed-Income Housing Development Bonus (MIHDB) zoning requirements, which mandate an "active ground floor" and I can say it was very active.
The menu matches the Arlington store, using a rotating multi-roaster coffee system alongside food items like handmade rosemary sausage, everything bacon hand pies, and picadillo tacos (what I ordered today - basic but satisfying).
It's an exceptionally good spot for studying or working. And location near the Trinity Riveris pretty unbeatable.
On a very side tangent, the founder Joshua Levi Moore was there with his family. He is actually a writer and is published under the name J.L. Moore. He regularly hosts book-themed markets like the "Bookish Bazaar".
He has said that he uses real customer interactions to shape his fictional characters. For example, "the stressed students and remote workers in his cafes inspired the protagonist, TC Beaudreaux, in his first novel, Stranger in the Crowd and also includes real North Texas travel routes such as Interstate 30 and Dallas Love Field.
My notes here:
1992 - 1996:
Joshua Levi Moore attended the University of Texas at Arlington (UTA), earning a Bachelor of Business Administration and Management.
2009 - 2017: Coffee Apprenticeship & First Novel
Around 2009, Moore took a job at Buon Giorno Coffee in Grapevine, Texas, training under owners David and Leyna Clarke. Despite not being a coffee drinker at the time, he spent years learning European roasting techniques and craft espresso preparation.
Moore specifically sought out the early 5:30 AM shifts so he would have a schedule conducive to writing his debut novel. He drank copious amounts of coffee while spending his off-hours writing his young adult fantasy book, "The Missing Prophet"
Publication Milestone (October 20, 2017): Writing under the pen name J.L. Moore, he had his book acquired by Aethon Books. On October 20, 2017, the final chapter of the book's audiobook adaptation was completed, which was notably narrated by his coffee mentor, David Clarke.
2018 - April 2019: Business Conception & Planning
Inspired by David Clarke's community-driven shop and his own memories of the "coffee desert" near UTA when he was a student, Moore decided to open his own space. He wanted a massive hub where diverse cultures and ages could gather without homogenizing.
Struggling with a name, he realized "Inclusive Coffee" sounded awkward. During a shower, a prayer-like realization hit him: "Some things that should go without saying, need to be said the most". He chose "Inclusion Coffee" so patrons would know they were accepted exactly as they are.
Regulatory Filing (April 24, 2019): Inclusion Coffee LLC officially filed its public bid
Mid-2019 - Early 2020: The 9-Month Physical Buildout
Instead of hiring a full-service general contractor, the nearly 7,000-square-foot space was built largely by hand over nine months of continuous manual labor.
Moore was supported by his wife, Mary (whom he met just one week before securing the site), who wielded hammer drills and steamed milk. His father acted as a primary investor and co-builder, working alongside Moore to hand-build a 2,000-square-foot steel and wood mezzanine. Staff members also pitched in, including a barista named Patrick who helped paint the interior, and designer Daniel Camomile who built their website.
April 24, 2020: Original Flagship Opening (101 Location)
The flagship 101 E Abram St location held its soft opening right at the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic. No ribbon cutting then sadly.
Late 2022: UTA Campus Branch Opening (Inclusion Coffee Express)
UTA conducted a campus-wide survey asking students which local businesses they wanted as campus partners, and Inclusion Coffee overwhelmingly won the vote - opened a compact satellite kiosk inside the SEIR Building on the UTA campus (655 W Mitchell St).
Post-2020 (Ongoing): Launch of the Mobile Coffee Cart
Managed by coffee cart coordinator Ethan Moore
2023 - Early 2024
Second Novel (Stranger in the Crowd): Moore co-authored a fast-paced suspense thriller and media conspiracy drama titled Stranger in the Crowd with Elizabeth Caunter with characters directly inspired by the people Moore observes in his cafes.
