We loved the food. From the salsas, to the queso, to the beef fajitas, we enjoyed them all very much. The food has good quality and great taste to it. Beef fajita is very tender!!! Frozen Mango and Strawberry margarita has nice balance of alcohol and fruity favor. Fun environment and amazing staffs. read more

La Hacienda Ranch - Tex-Mex Near Me - Dallas, Texas

My family & I love La Hacienda Ranch but not this location. This was our first time at this location & everything could've been better. The worst part was the service. Our server would ask one person if they needed anything they leave & not come back for 10-15 minutes. We had a group of 12. You can't just ask one person if they're okay and not all 12. My husbands fajitas were lacking. He usually gets more steak than this. Shrinkflation I guess. My food was good. My cousin had to ask for the sauce that came with her order 2 times. We were confused why it wasn't with the food since it came with the order, not an add on. But then to have to ask multiple times. Getting drinks was a challenge. These are just a few examples of where our expectations weren't met. In general the food was good. Didn't take long to get a seat. But the service really made the visit unpleasant. read more

La Hacienda Ranch - Can - Tex-Mex Near Me - Dallas, Texas

I have been a customer of La Hacienda Ranch for over 30 years, eating at the Frisco location before the mall was built and the only thing nearby was a small wooden church across the street. I have loved this restaurant for years, taken family and friends, celebrated anniversaries and birthdays, taken home salsa....etc. We usually order the Sundance Steak, which is no longer on the menu, but we've been eating for 30+ years and is still available on request. It is above the bar, excellent and has stayed that way all these years. We even had the little card for eating there and getting punches toward free food....I think it was money off or a free queso and chips, which is no longer offered. I stopped at the Preston Rd. location this week for lunch and was horribly disappointed. The lunch offerings were small and I ordered the green enchiladas. The menu said chicken, etc. Well, there was very little chicken, no cheese and when you cut into the enchilada, the corn tortilla fell open with nothing to hold it together. I've never had an enchilada with no cheese! I think there were maybe 4 small, flattened pieces of chicken in the entire enchilada. Lots of sauce, raw onions, small amount of tomato, but no chicken or cheese of any substance. It was not terrible, but certainly not the quality of food I have come to expect from La Hacienda Ranch over the years. Additionally, the service was not as expected. The waiter, Hugo, took my order and did not appear again until my meal was over. No checking on me, no asking if I liked it, needed anything, no offer for additional iced tea......I realize I was alone and not drinking alcohol, so no big tip, but to be totally ignored until the time of presenting the bill was also not something I was expecting. It was a little after normal lunch hour, so the place was not busy, so no excuse. This experience has made me question going back....which I never thought I'd do. This has always been one of my go-to, celebration or take new out-of-town people to restaurants for 30+ years. I'm now wondering if La Hacienda Ranch is reducing the quality of it's food for price cutting measures or whether I just hit a bad day. I don't normally do reviews unless I am thrilled or extremely disappointed, but since I was extremely disappointed this week, I am putting this out there. read more

Been to this location a couple of times. Both times I got the fish tacos. First tried them panko crusted, 2nd time blackened. I really liked the blackened seasoning. You get 3 to an order and it comes with 2 sides of choice. I love their seasoned veggies. The zucchini, yellow squash, mushrooms, broccoli, bell peppers and cauliflower are crisp and seasoned well. I was very full. read more

We have been dining at La Hacienda Ranch in North Dallas since it opened in the early 2000's and it never disappoints! We had such an awesome experience today celebrating a special occasion with our family. I spoke with Mgr. Tyler earlier this week and he helped set up our reservation and a plan for 20+ people. When we arrived today Mgr. Rafael made sure everything was perfect for what ended up being 26 of us. The servers were great and took care of all of our needs. We chose family style chicken and beef fajitas that were fabulous and a family favorite. Thank You so much for making our family memory perfect! La Hacienda Ranch is the best!! read more

We have been coming here every Thursday for the past 2 1/2 years. Sarah, our server, is the reason we continue coming. When we came in this week, Sarah wasn't here. Guess we're gonna have to find a new restaurant, or find where Sarah is going. I would have given a 5 star rating, but with Sarah gone, I'm only giving a 2 star rating She's the best server and most personable we've ever had. read more

It was my partner's and my first time dining at La Hacienda Ranch, and we will definitely be back because the food was delicious; our server, Becca--who was very professional and friendly--recommended the Spicy Chicken Verde, and my partner ordered the Brisket Tacos, both of which were a delight to our palates. The ambiance was amazing, perfect crowd and nice atmosphere. We also learned about the history of the margarita machine from the manager on duty, Rafael, who explained it in detail and made us feel welcome and right at home in the restaurant. We will certainly return and recommend this place to friends and family. read more

La Hacienda Ranch - Spicy Chicken Verde and Brisket Tacos - Tex-Mex Near Me - Dallas, Texas

Historic longevity. It was 1971 in the Old Town center that I discovered Mariano's Mexican restaurant. That was the year the owner, Mariano Martinez, invented the world's first frozen margarita machine. Instantly, it became the "go to " restaurant in Dallas. Today the greatest continues. The addition of wood fired grilled steaks will all the traditional Mexican dishes is unique. The smell of the grilling steaks and food coupled with the ranch decor is incredible. Tylar Smith is the manager and his decades of experience here makes your dining experience memorable. The menu is so broad it makes you want to sample it ALL. The enchiladas with rice, beans, and a taco was a great choice. The chips and two salsas were good. Seeing the servers delivering steaming fajitas and other plates to adjoining tables planted the " I want that " feeling. The food , atmosphere, and service deserve your patronage. Make it sooner than later. See you there! read more

Being from Arizona, I'm a spoiled on our own type of Sonoran food, but this place is exceptionally different in its flavor style a presentation. I suspect they use flank steak, but whatever it is it's extremely tender and flavorful. The flour tortillas are very fresh and the beans and rice are extremely exceptional in flavor and texture. The staff is very accommodating and friendly. The inside is very rustic, typical of a Texan style restaurant. They have Ample Parking. I always go out of my way when I come to Dallas or the surrounding area to eat here at there are several locations. If you're looking for some tender fajitas, this is the place you need to try. read more

Super service but went there for their steak. Disappointed it had been removed from the menu. Bring it back.

We stopped in at La Hacienda Ranch for the first time and had a truly great Tex-Mex experience. The atmosphere has warmth in abundance in addition to being universally inviting, thus presenting a definitive ranch-style vibe, which creates a feeling of home for each individual. We shared beef fajitas which have the nice charred flavor you want in tender and well-seasoned meat. The dish included freshly made tortillas, and the flavorful sides delightfully improved it. It's great that they give you 6 tortillas the first time even if you only ordered the fajita for 1. It was a perfect size for sharing As an appetizer, we started with the Texas Torpedoes; it was a good mix of crispy, cheesy, as well as spicy. The jalapeños had a good kick. They were stuffed just right and weren't too much. We drank a single Fire & Ice Margarita, a genuinely fun and flavorful cocktail. The drink, which had the perfect sweetness and a tequila punch, served on-the-rocks style in a special way. Service was attentive, and our food was served in a timely manner. read more

We are regulars and decided to try the new Chimi Tacos (recommended by my Rafael). They were OUTSTANDING! Puffed flower tortillas cradling the most delicious beef fajita meet in the DFW area. Get the Cilantro dressing (again, recommend by Rafael) Highly recommended! Oh, and the margaritas are incredible, as usual! read more

Came in with a party of 6 on Father's Day and was busy as expected. We had no issue waiting and the host was really nice taking our information to put us on the waitlist. Meh. Service was so-so. Fajita nachos were average, but why eat them when you can go next door to Rio Mambo and get some REALLY tasty ones. Margarita was sour and obviously made from a mix (but still $13 even with the happy hour discount). I won't be back when there are so many other great options nearby. Definitely too pricey for the average food and beverages you get. read more

The food is so good. Service is great. Love the guacamole made at your table. Enchiladas are delicious

While so many Mexican restaurants are trying "upscale" menus, La Hacienda Ranch stays with the basic fare and does it better than anywhere else. You can always depend on getting the very best, fresh meals. The wait staff is also the best. Most of them are long term employees and know their stuff. And let's not forget the great margaritas! read more

We are regulars in the evening at this La Hacienda location. Rafael always stops by to say hi and check in. What a fun surprise tonight to have the Mariano margarita special to celebrate Mr. Mariano's birthday! We love our bartenders/servers Walker, Ricky, and Julitza. Jackie always works incredibly hard with a smile on her face! They know our "usual" order and deliver with a friendly attitude. Maybe Mr. Mariano will have half-birthday special in 6 months. We enjoy coming here and have introduced many friends to our "La Ha." It's one of our local traditions. See you again soon. read more

Our family goes to this restaurant on a regular basis, atleast 1-2 times a week! The frozen margaritas are the best, the food is great and the service is above par. This place wouldn't be what it is without Ralpha, Hugo and Dolce, but everyone is great! They have become family. read more

The place is busy, make sure you plan ahead. If a restaurant is really busy that's usually a very good sign. Definitely was in this case as well. Our work group (8) went to enjoy a dinner together after a long work day. Loved the laid back atmosphere, just made you feel relaxed and comfortable. We only had one waiter for our party, he absolutely rocked it, couldn't have asked for better service. Let's jump to what we came here for, margaritas and food! The queso was by far the best I've ever had. Texas Torpedoes were great as well. The margaritas were perfect, just the right balance. Table side guacamole was excellent. I believe everyone at the table got something different, consensus with everyone was great food! I had the Spanish style enchiladas, they were amazing. If you're in the area make sure to stop by! read more

While this place is a little pricey, my goodness the food and drinks are amazing!!! The "Mariano" margarita is probably my favorite at any restaurant! Soooo yummy!!! It includes fresh squeezed lime and a 2.5 oz pour of top shelf tequila. I love the hand cut sun-shaped lime they use to garnish, too! Chips and salsa are served promptly upon arrival and the service is very good! We sat once at a table and once at the bar; both times solid. We had the beef fajitas for two and everything was amazing!!! The steak was tender, everything super fresh and tasty. One of my favorite things were the corn tortillas!!! Omgoodness they were AMAZING!!! And they're made in house just like the chips. So good! Two things I didn't love... the table was rather sticky. The tables were cleaned so I'm not sure if it's because they were older or what... I used my linen napkin as a placemat to solve that sticky feeling. I also felt like the chairs were quite shallow. I could not sit back all the way and felt like I was slipping forward. Neither of these things had an impact on the food or service, just things I don't like. It was very dark inside which I don't mind but big shocker to my eyes upon entering and exiting that took time to adjust to. They have a filet and Mariano special that I'll be back to try as well as an apple pie dessert that looks insane!!! The apple pie is supposed to be really good and is half off on Sundays but we didn't have an room left either time to even get to the dessert course... next time!!! 5/5! A must try! read more

My first visit here since Mariano purchased and started operating. I'd visited literally decades ago, when it sat in a field on a country road,by itself! Wow,how things change. The food wasn't memorable back then so,I haven't returned until now. I first ate at Mariano's original restaurant on Greenville Ave in Dallas Texas. That was before he invented the frozen margarita. Him and his family have done a great job of maintaining and expanding his operation over the years while maintaining quality This particular place designed to look like a mountain lodge, serves hundreds of diners . Pretty amazing they can sling that much Tex Mex every day Our dinner was excellent and I'd say representative of traditional Tex Mex served ( and craved) in this part of Texas. Just be aware,if you go at prime dinner hour or lunch on weekends, you'll wait. I'd advise visiting around those hours so as to not wait. Otherwise, get some fantastic food and drink... Go! read more

I used to love their steak and skillet potatoes. Sadly, we went this evening and discovered that they no longer offer steaks. They've switched to the Mariano's menu. I love Mariano's fajitas, but I had my taste buds prepared for the Ranch's steak tonight. read more

I went to this restaurant yesterday for the first time because the ratings were so high; however, we were told we had a 20 to 30 minute wait. After 30 minutes, my date asked how much longer, and they stated they could seat us immediately. It seemed they were they waiting for us to ask for them to seat us again - irritating, but okay. Next we were seated in Toni's section. We got water pretty quickly, but everything after that took time. The later the evening wore on, the more time it took to receive service. Yes, the restaurant was busy when we first arrived, but by the time we left, it wasn't busy at all. The food was on point, but the service was needlessly slow; therefore, I give this restaurant a 3 out of 5. Hopefully, if we ever go back, and we will give them a few months minimum, we hope they will fix the service issues. read more

Not what it was. Given them 3 chances over the past year and I'm done. Used to be a regular. Portions half size. Quality declines each visit. Prices up at least 30% and the service? Practically non existent AT THE BAR! They ignore you. Actually left zero tip with a nasty explanation why. Never again. Not even if offered free and half our HOA agrees. read more

It's Tex Mex but with a focus on quality. Tableside guacamole , huge panino carbon, stuffed spicy cheese enchilada and a huge sizzling apple pie with brandy butter sauce. Only gave 2 stars because I love their warmed Smokey salsa, fajita steak meat and the sort! Hubby and I have been to this location twice in 2 1/2 weeks and service is zero stars! What a disappointment! Never got refills unless we asked at least twice, if not three times. Never offered fresh or more chips and the salsa. Had to ask for pickled jalapeños several times and food took forever! The restaurant wasn't busy today at 4ppm either. The happy hour not very happy! At least Mariano's (the original restaurant) offers one 1/2 priced margarita all day on Wednesdays. The manager today wanted to tell my husband what any amazing server our waitress was today....we didn't see her or care to hear this. She was grumpy and did bare minimum. We will tip 25% on good service. Shouldn't have left her the $5 we did! The couple with us agreed and thanked my husband for speaking up. We won't be back to this location. Well go to Mia's down the street or LasPalmas! We'll make the trip to Mariano's too from now on......bummer. FYI....I've been in service industry for years! I know what is normal expectation. read more

My first experience was on Sunday May 10th. Thought the food was totally average and a little pricey for the quality compared to other Mexican restaurants like Muchacho, Las Palmas, Pappasitos, Doce Mesas. But why I am writing this is because 3 days later and my daughter and I are still suffering from some sort of food poisoning thy started in the middle of the night after we visited. It has been horrible, I do not see how people say this place has the best fajitas. They were dry and smoky. Not good at all. The crowd waiting in line seems like an Outback Chili's crowd so maybe they have never had really good Mexican. This felt like chain Mexican like On the Border. read more

It's always good, never a complaint, they never sacrifice taste or quality. Yum Yum Yumm

Prob would not return. Parking: ample. It has its own parking lot. This is the one off Preston. Pros: the salsa was pretty good. The darker salsa, more spicy, was my favorite. The regular salsa is good too. That SWIRL. Yessss. $15, but very Good. Brown liquor is mixed in with it. Perfect little twist. Two of these would get you right. But for $30 it should. 3 limit. I think I saw somewhere that on Thursdays it's cheaper. Service: John was sweet. Even when he gave us the wrong queso, he was willing to exchange it. We just kept what he brought. A Queso: no ma'am. I ordered the regular bowl of queso (because he had asked automatically if we wanted Mariano's and I said no, regular ). I've had Mariano's queso before and wasn't a fan. It's the same here. I ate it and we paid for it because we were hungry but I would never order it again. Ordered the chicken enchilada (2) for around $15-16. Pulled chicken, spicy. Tiktok lied. It was not good, and I sent it back. I opted for the sour cream topping. My friend got the quesadilla. We ended up paying for that. She boxed it up and will give it to her nephews. She didn't like it. Would we return here or Mariano's ? No. Not unless we just came to drink, and the swirl would have to be discounted. I would not return for it being $15 read more
