Great experience. I'm originally from Los Angeles, so I know good food. I was brought here by some peers on business trip and was wonderfully surprised. Service team was quick to great and seat, always good because we have a limited dining time. Drink orders (sodas, we were working) came fast, along with chips, salsa and beans. We opted for a side of queso, all was really good! I can speak for my meal, grilled chicken tacos, with delicious homemade guac, sour cream and picante. Really good, and fast from the kitchen. The ambiance inside is fun and classic, made for a great experience. The fjnal part, the bill, was lower than expected. If in the area, give them a try. 5 stars. Sub par Tex-Mex ! Too bad the food doesn't match the beautiful restaurant. Originally it was Macaroni Grill Decor and atmosphere are pleasing. The service was outstanding and our waitress was fantastic. The only problem is the food is way below standard fare. Presentation and plated courses eye pleasing. One bite and disappointment sets in! For all its efforts to wow , I've had much better food at Dos Charros. Try any of the other Tex-Mex in close proximity to this place and you'll be better off The tortillas for my fajitas were Huge , paper thin, and chewy. must have been 12 inches wide Too big to wield and cumbersome to load . Food was absolutely delicious! Queso is a dream, guac is fresh and creamy. My enchiladas were great, the red sauce was super flavorful. Their refried beans are SO good, honestly my favorite part. My husband got the spicy chicken tacos - the puffy shells are almost like a pita or flatbread type. It was SUPER spicy and kind of kicked his butt even though he has a good spice tolerance. Went w a group of friends for dinner/drinks. Mango margarita was delicious as were the beans. The chicken quesadilla left a lot to the imagination. Very little chicken or filling in it. I ate 3/4 of it and was sick before I left the restaurant and entire next day. With the timing of getting sick and never having a fever I can only guess it was something in the quesadilla. I of course I order the same and the quality was well matched at this location and again their ranchero beans are so good and I'm happy they serve them with your complimentary chips and salsa. There are just so many better options for basic Mexican food (fajitas, Tex-Mex, chips). Below Average at premium prices. Had the carne asada (comes out med rare on sizzling platter that turns it well done by the time it's cool enough to eat; and turns the steak knife into a branding iron it's so hot), bland guacamole (missed salt and cilantro); and salty soup. I'm writing this from my table after being sat 15-20 minutes ago and have still not been greeted. No chips and salsa or silverware, yet surrounding tables received theirs despite coming after us. The hosts were also rude, as well. Other locations do not have this issue. The food is good at other locations, so hopefully the food will make up for the lack of service (assuming anyone ever comes to greet us, as we've been skipped over multiple times now). I love this location! The food is always great quality. The servers are always kind, attentive and quick. I always get the same two. I wish I could remember their names. I love sitting on their patio on a warm day and enjoying my meal. I always get the cheese enchiladas with a size of steak to put on top since they don't have a steak enchilada. The steak is usually very well seasoned and always tender. The only thing I take points off for is that almost every time I call in for a to go order, the staff for some reason doesn't seem to be as knowledgeable on the menu or how to ring things up. I've been overcharged before and driven home to find that I was given the wrong items. With that said, I would prefer to dine one to avoid this. I've had many delicious items from their menu but you know when you find that perfect dish you just don't want anything else? That's what their steak and shrimp fajitas has done to me. Tried this on a whim one day for lunch. It started off with a good impression because the traditional complimentary chips and salsa had a little extra. It also included a little dish of warm baracho beans. Very tasty and the salsa was fresh. My server was very friendly and asked if it was my first time at Lupe--yes it was. She welcomed me but then a few minutes later, a chef came to my table to welcome me as well with a sample of their signature dish--beef fajitas. Very classy--I appreciated the special attention for a first impression. The carne was delicious! If I hadn't ordered already, I would've ordered the fajitas. If at a New Mexican restaurant I typically do a combo plate to get a feel for a few things. Taco, tamale, enchilada. The taco meat was good, but the shell seemed lackluster--like store bought. The tamale and enchilada wear great. Refried beans were good. The rice...jury is still out. It looked very inviting because it wasn't the typical tomato based rice. There were extra veggies in it and it was heavily seasoned. Cumin is what I tasted the most. I love cumin but the rice felt overpowering. I didn't eat much of it. My roommate wanted fajitas last night and since OTB closed, she opted for Lupe Tortillas'. I ordered online for pick up and the ready time was only 20 mins from ordering. When I got there, I was pleasantly surprised to see specific pickup parking spots where they will bring your order out to you after you text and check in. She got the 1/2 LB Chicken Fajitas $25.95 and I got the Beef and Shrimp Fajitas $30.95. Since we were sharing, she got corn tortillas and I got flour. The flour tortillas are huge! Basically made a burrito vs a taco lol. I personally prefer flour over corn but their corn tortillas are excellent. They do not break apart when using the single tortilla. Both dinners came with an order of rice and refried beans. They also include a bag of chips, salsa and a cup of charro beans. I really like charro beans and the rice and beans are fine. They also come with pico de gallo, cheese, and guacamole. The shrimp came with some kind of seasoned butter that was very tasty. I ate the shrimp with the delicious dipping butter and was able to make 3 very big tacos with the beef. The beef was really good, it was cooked medium with a warm pink center. While everything was pretty good the price is still on the high end for Tex-Mex in my opinion. I would go back or order pickup again though. read more

Our server King was excellent but the kitchen made a mistake on my food then over compensated for my meal in a totally wrong way - the guy came out so proud of how he fixed the situation and made it worse. I ordered the green chicken enchiladas without the tortillas- not hard chicken on the plate the green sauce and cheese under the salamander - what he brought out was cold chicken with a cold sauce and no cheese it was horrible . I am a huge fan of Lupe's dating back to the original in Houston. This past visit to the Addison location was beyond disappointing, margaritas were a half shot of tequila ( I watched this first hand) and lime juice even when you ordered a top shelf or gold. The famous chicken fajitas were not marinated as in previous visits. The bartenders were not a team it was completely each for themselves. Hence when visiting the Allen location they played as a team oh and they had fabulous margaritas. Addison location is not up to par. read more

This is the kind of Tex Mex place that will hit the spot have you smelling like Mexican for days, but I'm giving it three stars bc the margaritas were not good (I paid more for the reposado, and it was so disappointing like too much mix) the tortillas and queso were disappointing. Lupe Tortilla is right in the heart of Beltline in Addison, so I expected a bit more. Especially because tortilla is in their name the tortillas here are like the chipotle burrito tortillas. I will say their bean dip is 10/10 the best thing I've gotten at a restaurant. We ordered the queso, and I got three meat fajitas - the shrimp was surprisingly good.
