Cash only - seems authentic, they had the news on in Spanish :) I ordered steak street tacos to go - the beef was a bit dry but the corn tortillas and hot sauce were really good. My partner and I visited on a slow Friday afternoon. We ordered four chicken, one steak, and one carnita taco with grilled onions. The chicken and steak tacos were seasoned well but the carnitas lacked a lot of flavor. It was mostly fat. They don't double the tortilla and it's not cooked crispy so it gets soggy quickly. The winner of the meal were the sauces. The green and red sauces both had different flavors and the right amount of heat. They do need to clean up better here. There was one other person eating inside but the resisting itself was dirty. I wouldn't mind visiting again if the cleanliness improved. read more

Visiting Dallas and wanted some real Mexican food. We aren't from Texas so we know that Tex-Mex food is ... well, not really what we would say real Mexican food. Not bashing on it, but no, that's not Mexican food. I found this place on good ol' Yelp and paid them a visit. It was definitely what I was looking for and more. It doesn't look like much outside and when we got there, it looked like it was closed. We went and checked the door and it was open. We went in and ordered different items from the menu. Some of us got the chilaquiles, some red, and I ordered the green ones (green always wins in my book). I have to say that the green ones had a spicy kick to them. I got a taste of the red ones and didn't taste spicy at all. I knew I made the right choice. I tore that plate up. I also had a taco de adobada/pastor and that was also good. The meat had a good flavor. By the time we finished eating, they were busy both with people eating there and people picking up food. I think if they took cards (they're cash only), they would definitely increase their business. Sometimes its a drag to go to the ATM first and then go eat, but I gotta say, if you are thinking of this place, do it! go to the ATM and go order some food. read more

The food, flavor and attention to customer remind me of being at my Mexican parent's home: humble spot, solid good food (I had the 4-chicken flautas plate with rice and beans), and best of all--the attention! The sincere cashier/waitress served with a smile. She gave me 4oz samples of LEGIT fresh cantaloupe and horchata drinks: I got the awesome cantaloupe. Undercooked tacos, bad customer service, and wrong order. Asked for flour tacos, got corn then refused to fix order and instead wanted to charge me extra for what I actually ordered. Get home and see how undercooked the tacos are and give them a call the same lady answers and when I mention the problem she shifts blame and says "that's not us, we haven't made any order for pick up" so I say ok, apologize and look for the "right" number to find out that I called the right number when she answers again and says it wasn't them I assure them it was then when I ask if I can go get the incorrect items fixed she just says "no". After arguing she eventually caved in saying they don't do that but they'll change it this time and never again. I mentioned You wouldn't have to change anything if you had done it right the first time. I was a little rude because I got upset at how she handled the issue, very poor customer service. Bad food. The best tacos in the area imo! Now I'm no taco guru, but I've had Fuel City tacos and I am in love with them already . For this area, it's hard to find great tasting authentic tacos , so I was glad my bf introduced me to this place . The chicken and beef tacos are pure goodness ! Was in the mood for something different and out of the norm saw this place driving by in the neighborhood never noticed it. Checked the reviews and gave it a try. It was the best authentic Mexican that I have ever had. I had the chicken fajita plate with rice and beans my husband had a beef burrito. Both portions were large I could only eat half my plate. Enough jalapeno that it was hot without being overwhelming. I poured the red sauce all over everything. Down size was that they don't speak English and the menu is all in Spanish and you have to navigate by photos and the words you can recognize. Perfect Barbacoa tacos! Cash only. Searched yelp specifically for street tacos near Addison. Came up with this spot and decided to give it a try. It's in the same shopping center as a great Thai spot I recommend as well. It's a small shop, plenty of empty tables to sit down and devour yummy tacos, the booths were mostly worn and ripped. I was there for the food and wasn't bothered by the weathered look of the interior. I already knew what I wanted but I checked out the menu which is above the register with images for every item. Placed my order for 3 barbacoa tacos on corn tortillas with cilantro, onions, and lime. $5! Love an inexpensive and satisfying lunch. The woman behind the counter handled my order quickly and politely. My tacos came out within a few minutes, served with small bowls of their verde and rojo sauces. I tasted both, preferred the verde but these tacos didn't need any sauce so I passed on adding any. After a good squeeze of lime over each taco, it took no time for me to put away all 3 tacos. Very tender barbacoa, juicy with the right amount of fat in the meat. Paired with the onions & cilantro with the burst of citrus from the lime and these tacos hit the spot. Simple, tasty, and exactly what I came for. I am basing this review strictly on the food I ordered and service I received. Can't speak to anything else on the menu, but I will be going back again the next time I get the craving for authentic street tacos. Possibly check out their huaraches! read more

I have such a hard time giving taco shops 5 stars. Being from Southern California, the Mexican food is just different here in Texas. This place was really good though. I opted for breakfast and got the chilaquiles plate. The flavor was really great and the portion was enormous! They served it with two different salsas... a red and green. Both, very delicious with just a touch of heat but not too much. The rice was just okay but the beans were very good! I also ordered a tinga taco. The taco was good. Not spectacular but the price was right. I would definitely come here again especially for the plates. They give you a TON of food! Went by this place cause it's so close to my apartment. Ordered a couple of carne asada tacos to go. I've been to a few other places since moving out here. This joint is not one I will be returning to. The asada was burnt/crispy and lacked flavor. Don't get me wrong, this place will do for many in a pinch. Very upset. I've been to this place many times over several years, as I'm only a short drive away. Tacos, burritos, tortas, tostadas, flautas, sopes, enchiladas, huevos....I've had it all here. This visit, while eating my burrito, I almost choked on a bite. I spit it out to discover a substantial piece of plastic wrap twisted up in the burrito filling. How does something like this end up in a handmade burrito? Disgusting and unacceptable. My confidence in this place is completely shot. Sorry, La Picosa, but you and I are probably done. Had a pastor and barbacoa taco. Definitely homemade but bland. Came with plenty of meat, cheese and a red chile sause on the side. The red chile sauce really had no flavor. Perhaps a lime would have livened the flavor. I did add salt which I rarely do. Was only $3.82 for 2 filling tacos and a diet coke. Menu was in Spanish. This place is one of the best Mexican restaurant in north Dallas. I love this place I probably go here every other day. There enchiladas in green sauce are amazing. Aswell as there fajita quesadilla everything tastes homemade. Plus the price is fare for the amount of food. I would definitely keep going here and will take friends and family. read more
