3 meat breakfast combo
Dustin B.

Everything was great but especially the coffee. Normally I don't even order coffee in restaurants because it's so bland but here is different. It's the best, richest coffee I have had in a restaurant in a long time. I couldn't stop talking about it.

I enjoyed it. There is a line for a reason. Classic breakfast with a twist. You can get regular French toast but then they have cinnamon bun French toast and some infused with cream cheese or cheese cake, not sure. But the food I had which was the original French toast, hash brown casserole, two eggs and sausage, was good. ~$16 I think it was called the Vigilante. My family of 5 had plenty of food and juice for less than ~$80 with tip. 5.

Coosie's Skillet

Where to begin?! First, I'd like to start by saying that Old West Cafe's skillet choices don't receive the love they're due. The Philly Skillet with its bell peppers and mushrooms was a beautiful excuse to have the taste of a cheese steak in the morning. The Coosie easily became a breakfast favorite with its savory mix of gravy, biscuits, bacon & eggs. The blueberry pancake was my wife's so I can't speak to its taste but it did appear quite enjoyable. The atmosphere is very western, so there's need to dress fancy. Lastly, the servers are quite friendly so it's a place I'll definitely be returning to.

Biscuit and gravy

This place is amazing. Huge and delicious portions . The biscuit and gravy was good, the gravy a tad on the thin side but I enjoyed it and I'm picky about my gravy. The huge cinnamon roll was yummy. The blueberry pancakes were so big and really delicious!!! The hash browns perfectly crisp. They get you in and out pretty quickly so if there is a wait - stay and enjoy your meal!!!! Oh and our waitress was so sweet I wish I could remember her name . Very hospitable

Meat lovers with grits that has bacon, cheese and tomato

Omg!!!! That's all I'm going to say. I can see why this place is packed. The food was so amazing!!! The service was great and I knew this place was great when they came out with a regular size cup for orange juice.

Bronco and a Deputy Omelet...

We were up in Grapevine and I wanted a Texas Cafe breakfast. Those are usually hard to find "in the big city" but we saw Old West and went in. A table for two was immediately available, I felt sort of bad for the larger groups waiting outside... after those three seconds of self torment, we were seated and this adventure began. I thought I ordered a "normal" sized breakfast. The Bronco is one flapjack, two eggs, two of one meat and a side. Two plates and a skillet later, it was on the table. The flapjack is a meal in itself. Everything was yummy. Couldn't eat it all. Will be back!

Everything is awesome!! Service outstanding from Matthew, we were able to sit in the booth I wanted too! Coffee is fantastic! My husband got the General and I got the cinnamon flapjack! Great little adventure for us locally!

Old West has become our stop when we pick up our son at the airport. They have great Texas food with a Texas ambiance. The service is also "Texas." Many natives pride ourselves for being friendly. So far, all of our servers have been super friendly! I got the Bandit, two eggs, bacon, biscuits n gravy. It was delicious! My son got some pumpkin flapjacks. He tore them up, so I expect he liked them! This is a 13 minute drive from DFW terminal, and is a good and affordable breakfast!

Cinn-a-swirl Jack (with Lego man for scale)

I ordered the Cowpoke with a cinn-a-swirl jack. The scrambled egg was cooked to perfection (I like my eggs dry..and at home I always have to burn them a little to get it..here they were perfect..not burned, not wet). And the flap jack? It was HUGE, and the cinnamon swirl was crusted into the pancake. Everything was delicious!

Such a cute western themed spot!! I love all the decor. The staff was very friendly. We tried a variety of dishes and most were good except the Texas toast was not that good. It was just plain. I wouldn't mind going back and trying other dishes.

This place gets really packed. Especially on a Sunday, you might want to come in before 10 AM. Once you walk in, you are greeted and either seated or they will take your name. Once you get seated, the staff is really friendly and ready to get your order taken care of. The food is really delicious. I would really recommend the hash brown casserole. It was awesome. The inside gets extremely loud. On this visit, there were children, crying, and screaming, the only major drawback. The lighting is somewhat dim, and the tables are somewhat small. Definitely give them a try and take my recommendation to come early.

Old West Cafe has a lot on their menu but it's mostly the traditional food items which if done right is perfectly fine. They really need a bigger parking lot and it felt very crowded inside. The food came out fairly quickly considering how many people were there. My boyfriend and I both got omelets and really enjoyed them and the fresh made salsa makes such a difference. Nice breakfast spot if your going more traditional.

Old West Cafe Reviews in Other Languages

Ask the Community - Old West Cafe

Can we make Reservations?

No. They loudly and proudly proclaim on their website that the do neither reservations nor call-ahead seating. (I paraphrased - and translated - as the website is clearly taking a Cowboy metaphor to the next level).

Can you sub regular egg in omelette with egg whites?

I have noticed they are usually open to however you want your breakfast.

Why is there a check in button for this cafe?

All Yelp businesses have a check in button. It indicates that you are at the business, it has nothing to to do with reservations or a waitlist.

What's the best food to purchase?

I have only had breakfast. THe omlettes are solid. Side orders of home fries and bacon were also worth it.

What gluten-free items do they have?

Eggs, bacon, sausage (maybe?), potatoes, and grits.

Lots of seating inside and out; outside offers a great view of the common area; a great place for children to play. The tableside made guacamole was absolutely delicious; probably the best I've had!! The steak nachos were recommended by a friend and we were quite delicious. After studying the choices of margaritas available; I decided on hell freezes over. Not only was it fun; the dry eyes lasted forever; it was extremely tasty. The wait staff was friendly, helpful and efficient. I can't wait to go back and try something different and also get the guacamole and margarita again!

Well seasoned steak and soft, flavorful tortillas made for an excellent dinner, one I almost didn't have, since I was so busy filling up on the very good chips and various salsas. The ambiance is good: a bit loud, but that's no big deal, especially since I went on a Friday night. The service was inconsistent, unfortunately. We didn't see our waiter for long periods of time, and then he was replaced by another waiter, and then we waited a long time for drinks and to place our orders. Overall, the next time I head back to Mi Dia, I'll get a reservation on the patio and will leave plenty of room for the salsa.

She led me back to the table with my friends and created some small talk on the way, so that was a nice change of pace, considering many people just point you on your way. We were seated near the back which seemed to be somewhat like an open kitchen feel, which I actually thought was pretty cool. Our waitress was very fast and helpful with picking out our foods based on our likes. Once the food came out, everyone seemed to really enjoy their meals, including myself. We started the table off with the biscuits and fried green tomatoes (demolished!). I kept it simple with the chicken and waffles (delicioius and crispy), which was a HUGE helping (yum!). Others at my table enjoyed the the shrimp and grits and WB chicken sandwich. No complaints heard from them! Overall, I really enjoyed the ambiance, the food, the service, and the experience I had for my first time there. Would come back again for dinner to see if there is a difference.

The eatery is bright and warm. Our server, Chase, was friendly, personable, knowledgeable about the menu, professional in her service, and just fun to talk with. She recommended several different sandwiches. My wife had the Chicken and Fig sandwich (Chase's favorite) and it was fabulous. I had the Reuben and it was equally great. The presentation was excellent and the taste was even better. Instead of having fries with our sandwiches, we asked if we could have caesar salads instead. No problem! And they were wonderful. As the table near us was a party of 10, we observed the excellent service that they received so it was clear that CWK could easily accommodate our Caregivers group. And noise was not an issue as it in so many other places. We made a return visit and had an equally enjoyable experience. Kat was our server and she was also very attentive and knowledgeable. My wife again had the Chicken and Fig sandwich and I had the Ahi Tuna Bowl. Both were great--well prepared, attractively presented, and simply delicious. We saw Chase and visited with her like you would with a dear friend. Kat recommended their Brownie and Ice Cream desert which was to die for. Simply yummy. While I gave up alcohol for Lent, I saw Chase working the bar with great aplomb and the drinks she made looked fabulous. I know that once Easter has passed, I'll have some libations to look forward to. There is a friendly message on the wall to the effect that CraftWay Kitchen is your home away from home. My wife and I are proof positive that this is very true. Very highly recommended!!!
