Love Me Tender with grits and beans.
    Greg M.

Been a bit since I've been to Whistle Britches. Frequently went to Dallas location before they closed. Disappointed that they reduced the size of their sides and Love Me Tender no longer comes with homemade biscuit and jam. Also, they no longer have house made hot sauces and honey at the table. All in all not great compared to what they offered in the past.

This was my first time dining here though I'd heard it was good. That was a tremendous understatement! We happened in on a Friday afternoon while doing some shopping in the area. We had a couple of cocktails, couple of appetizers and each had an entree. This was WAAAY more food than anticipated. Right away, the biscuits were incredibly well made. The chef's special wings appetizer include 3 JUMBO wings that took a while to appear but were well worth the wait. We got one of each flavor and were thoroughly impressed with each. I asked whether I should order tenders or pork chop and it was suggested that I go with the pork chop which was excellent. She also enjoyed the catfish entree. Absolutely delighted with the whole experience!! We will return.

September 2025 Saturday B r u n c h Parking- there's plenty of parking in the lot across from the restaurant, and parking along the street. Restaurant- clean. Temperature: cool. Seating: Booth options and table options available. They take reservations, or walk ins. The restrooms are individual restrooms- not stalls. They were also clean; however, the paper towels are close to the toilet, and uncovered- so I did not use those because of sanitary reasons. Drinks: my friend ordered the Berry Smash ($13) and she said it was good. I did not drink- but the water was good. ;) Food: She ordered the shrimp and grits. Grits were flavorful, and the shrimp (4 pieces, grilled) was just ok. Re-orderable, nonetheless. I ordered the Chilaquiles - I enjoyed this dish. It was $17 on the menu, yet $19 on the check (I will address this later). Both of us ordered a side of ham. $6 each. Meals were both good. Pricing: Average pricing. Please see the menu attached because "average" may be inexpensive to some, and too expensive for others. Now, to the hiccups that keep this from being a 5 star experience: My friend did find a hair on her plate under the ham. She had already been eating, and saw this later. She alerted Sydney, our server, who alerted the manager on duty. He came over and offered to replace the ham and remove it from the check. He took care of it, just like a great manager would have. I noticed that he was present, attentive, and asking tables about their dining experience earlier - so I knew this location was managed well. To the second hiccup-- As a reviewer, I always take a photo of the menu, the food, and the beverages. My check listed the Chilaquiles for $19, so I went back to my photo and noticed a discrepancy in the pricing listed ($17). Some may think "it's just $2" but it's important to me that what's listed is what's honored, no matter the price. When she grabbed our cards /checks, I asked Sydney if she could honor the price that was on the menu. I don't know if she was taken aback, annoyed, caught off guard, or what-- but the facial expression at my request was.....odd. My friend even spoke about it when she walked away, which confirmed my feelings. Either way, the price was adjusted, and I paid and tipped the standard 20%. After this, I did not note a lingering issue.....She even held the door open when we left. So there's that :) I will definitely return- overall it was a good pick for our Saturday brunch.

If sophistication and the South ever got married Whistle Britches would be the love child and let me tell you this baby is thriving Everything I ate was an explosion of Southern goodness Not one bite disappointed me From start to finish the food and the vibes were top tier I started with the Berry Smash cocktail not too sweet but full of bold elevated flavor that set the tone for the evening For an appetizer the crispy corn fritters with sriracha ranch were heavenly Crunchy on the outside creamy on the inside with just the right amount of heat For my supper I went with the Love Me Tender plate mainly because I wanted greens and they did not disappoint That plate was comfort food at its finest I also added the creamed corn jalapeño skillet cornbread and y'all that cornbread was divine Sweet savory and spicy with every bite A special shout out to Tayah I hope I got your name right such a sweet spirit and a perfect example of Southern hospitality The atmosphere is family friendly with a refined charm It's where comfort meets class I will definitely be turning back

Came here one one after work, and it was fairly empty. We got seated immediately, but the seats (booths) were next to the wall for two people. It kinda weird, since sharing the foot rest was like playing footsie with the other people at the table. lol Anyways, we ended up getting the fried green tomatoes, chicken and waffles and the Country Fried Steak (CFS). I really enjoyed the fried chicken here, the breading it really good and the chicken is moist. The chicken and waffles comes with an interesting spicy jam, and it went well with the waffles. The CFS was really filling, it came with mash potatoes and green beans. The service was really good as well. Prompt and waitress came by often to check in on us. Near the back of the restaurant, its an open kitchen concept, so you can see people cooking your orders. They also have a bar (along with some seats) in the middle of the restaurant. Plenty of parking outside.

My bestie, wife, and I decided to ring in the new year at Whistle Britches. We started off with the Deviled Farm Eggs and y'all! Those bread and butter pickles? Apparently, Whistle Britches makes their own and they're just... *chef's kiss* Fo' real, y'all. I'm not all that much of a pickle fan but, OOF! They were delish delosh. My bestie ordered Ma's Meatloaf and my wife got the C.F.S. (Chicken Fried Steak) along with the Ditalini Mac-n-Cheese. I got the Grilled Bone-in Pork Chop with grits (of which I was a big fan). My wife doesn't even like grits, but she kept sneaking bites off my plate, so... I think any grits fan will definitely find them satisfying. My pork chop had a little extra char, but it was super tasty and not dry. Thing is y'all. That elote?! You guys! That corn was on point! We finished off by sharing one of Whistle Britches' banana pudding which is just... *sigh* whipped and airy, creamy, and delicious with generous portions of banana. They also top it with a few crispy and gingery biscuits. Check 'em out y'all. It's some seriously good stuff.

    Water is not complimentary

I had my eye on this location for a good while so finally a made a lunch date to make it happen. Place is very cute ambiance and the service was impeccable. Now on to the fun stuff, our order. We requested water as our drink and little did we know the water was not complimentary in the end. Ma's Meatloaf $21 Angus beef, whipped potatoes, black pepper bourbon glaze, and green beans. --The potatoes were bland, and the bourbon glaze was not a good mix to have on top of the meatloaf. Honestly, the entire meal was lacking. Don Chingon $16 Crispy chicken, poblano chile queso, smoked bacon, caramelized onion, loaded guacamole, and a brioche bun. -- This was a great sandwich, in a sense most of the parts were not as equally loaded and left me wanting more to get that good bite again. For the cost of the plates, I am not entirely too sure I'd return just yet for a follow up review.

This place is amazing this sistah loves the chicken and waffles. I had probably a little bit of all of the appetizer and I am so full. The food was hot delicious and I'm so full. Shared plates and most of all reason reasonably priced and don't forget the drinks are amazing.

Love the food here but miss the chicken biscuit sandwich! Ok if you come here you must have a biscuit, they are delicious and amazing. The chicken is sooo tasty. We drive over an hour just to eat here and it's worth it. Love that you can go shop and then stop here to eat some delicious food. The service is always good and again back to the food, very consistent and yum!

Very cute spot with wonderful service. We tried the catfish sandwich and the chicken and waffles. Both were excellent and full of flavor. Manager and staff were very welcoming and attentive.

I love biscuits and Whistle Britches makes some good biscuits just another reason to visit Southlake Towne Center area to shop and enjoy some good eats while at it. Located right off main with a parking lot right across from it, one of the easier parking options in the Center. Service was friendly and informative Lunch, Brunch is 1 page. We started with the pickled jalapeno Cornbread delicious. For our meal we had their namesake Whistle Britches Sandwich and Sir Mix a Lot plate which consisted of Fried Chicken,Cole Slaw Biscuits, Honey and Kettle Chips all served within a reasonable time frame. We'll be back in the area soon enough and this will be one of our options going forward.Fried Chicken was very good and plenty we brought home enough for a good lunch tomorrow.

First time diving into Southern comfort food and I'm hooked! Jalapeño cornbread with honey drizzle -- sweet, spicy, and addictive. Shrimp and grits were packed with flavor (shrimp a bit chewy, but grits were amazing). My son's Love Me Tender with mac and cheese was crispy and the Mac and cheese was cheesy perfection. Other son got the Flat Top Burger and demolished it before I could even steal a bite. Huge portions -- we all left with leftovers (except my bottomless pit kid). Totally worth it!

Most of the starers are mouthwatering, even the unexpected Ruben Eggrolls are a delight. Less daring items like the coconut shrimp are equally good. Without a doubt my go to entree is the Beef Wellington. I remember La Madeleine had an affordable one on their menu in the late nineties, this is reminiscent. I do usually swap out the mashed potatoes for the chopped wedge as side, just seems like the classical steakhouse side for the task. The only thing I would say that is lacking is the wine list, despite being very fairly priced. Their most bespoke bottle of red is the Silver Oak Cabernet Sauvignon (2021), which while amazing for the $99.99 they charged, it was fairly flat, lacking the traditional vanilla perfume you'd expect from a pricey California Cabernet Sauvignon. Also took a bottle of GH Mumm Grand Cordon, which also did not taste as anticipated. I think the most plausible explanation might be heat damage, as both wines are usually well regarded but came up short.

Both were excellent, although you shouldn't expect the pot pie to be a major filler; though the unique flaky top was a different twist from the usual expectations that come with a pot pie. The thing I enjoyed most about this place is how friendly all the staff were and on top of that they even gave me a coupon for $20 off the next visit. I am eagerly anticipating my next visit as I really want to try the Beef Wellington!
