Steak Frite
Rance J.

Great service and solid food at Jellico's! Had dinner at Jellico's Restaurant in the Dallas Southlake Weston Hotel and was pleasantly impressed. My server Adam was fantastic - really took the time to understand my preferences and made spot-on recommendations. Based on his suggestions, I went with the lobster appetizer and Steak Frites for my main course. The fried lobster was good, though nothing groundbreaking - exactly what you'd expect from a quality preparation. The real star was the Steak Frites. The steak itself was absolutely amazing - incredibly flavorful and well-prepared. It came with a delicious sauce (wish I caught the name!), fresh salad, and some truly excellent fries. My only minor quibble was that I ordered medium-well but it came closer to medium/medium-rare. That said, it was so delicious I honestly didn't mind. For drinks, I stuck with my usual Michelob Ultra on draft, which hit the spot. They do offer Heineken Zero as their non-alcoholic option, which isn't bad, but they could really expand their zero-alcohol beer selection - the market is exploding with great options like Sam Adams "Just the Haze." Overall, excellent service from Adam and a really enjoyable meal. Even if you're not staying at the Westin, it's worth stopping by if you're in the area.

We have grabbed lunch here twice so far. Once for lunch on Thanksgiving day and second just a quick place to meet up to exchange Christmas gifts with friends. The food is really good! We have enjoyed many things on the menu and love the great service and ambience. We will be back to check out the bar.

Have had breakfast here and ordered some snacks mid day while we were staying at the Westin. Food was very good and fresh.

I met a business associate here for breakfast, and I have to say this place is fantastic. The food was fresh. The service was attentive and friendly, and it made the business meeting. As opposed to meeting at a typical coffee shop, Jalisco's at the Westin is quiet with plenty of spaces. The food is not your typical hotel fare it's made to order it's fresh and clean. I hate to admit that this is the perfect setting for a business meeting! Hala our server ad she was fantastic. She was from Egypt and had a great personality. She was so attentive and friendly, but also gave us ample space so we could discuss business. I will definitely be back ! So if you're in the Southlake area and need a good meal or a quiet place to work, this is your place. Ask for Hala, she will take good care of you!

Jellico's is inside the new Westin hotel in Southlake, but it offers no ordinary hotel food! We decided to stop in last minute on a Sunday for an early dinner and the staff quickly accommodated all 8 adults and 3 children under 4 years old. We are a rowdy bunch but were quickly tamed by each amazing plate of food. Between all of us we sampled pretty much all of the menu, but were passing plates around so fast I didn't have a chance to get any pictures. Favorites- Sharables: charcuterie board, tuna crudo, deviled eggs. Entrees: Steak and mashed potatoes, shrimp and grits. Dessert: S'mores with horchata ice cream (note: the panna cotta is vegan!) The ambiance is light and airy too, it's really just a lovely place to spend an evening!

She led me back to the table with my friends and created some small talk on the way, so that was a nice change of pace, considering many people just point you on your way. We were seated near the back which seemed to be somewhat like an open kitchen feel, which I actually thought was pretty cool. Our waitress was very fast and helpful with picking out our foods based on our likes. Once the food came out, everyone seemed to really enjoy their meals, including myself. We started the table off with the biscuits and fried green tomatoes (demolished!). I kept it simple with the chicken and waffles (delicioius and crispy), which was a HUGE helping (yum!). Others at my table enjoyed the the shrimp and grits and WB chicken sandwich. No complaints heard from them! Overall, I really enjoyed the ambiance, the food, the service, and the experience I had for my first time there. Would come back again for dinner to see if there is a difference.

My Overall Rating - 5 Stars (Atmosphere, Service, Food, Return) Atmosphere - Tupelo Honey is a stand-alone restaurant conveniently located near Hwy 114 and 161. There's plenty of parking, outdoor seating, and a mixture of tables, booths, and bar seating. Speaking of the bar, it acts as a beautiful backdrop for the entire restaurant. 1 Star. Service - The service is always friendly. Our server is always smiling, and I can't help but feel welcome with southern charm. Tupelo Honey trains its staff well, and I really enjoy coming here and interacting with the staff. 1 Star. Food - I always begin with the Biscuits with a Cause. These light, flakey biscuits are served warm with a crispy exterior and soft, flakey inside. But honestly, the biscuits act as a delivery mechanism for the butter and blue berry jam. I always ask for an extra side of butter and jam because I use it all. On my most recent visit, I ordered the Honey Dusted Fried Chicken (dark). The chicken was perfectly fried, crispy, and sweet. And the dark meat was juicy. Pro Tips - use your hands. Another great dish was experienced. 2 Stars. Will I Return? - Yes. I have yet to have a below average dish at Tupelo Honey. Yes, it's a chain. But it's also a darn good chain that keeps its menu fresh and is worth multiple visits. 1 Star.

It took a good minute to get our beverages and food. There was a crowd but it seemed to be in and out pretty quicky. The food was great! I ordered their sangria, very refreshing and not overly sweet. Southern shakshuka. $15.99 two eggs* baked in a tomato, spinach, & peperonata sauce, over stone-ground goat cheese grits, topped with basil (710 cal) - This combo was good, loved the creaminess and even had leftovers for the next day. Sweet & Spicy Fried Chicken & Waffles $16.99 Hand-breaded crispy chicken tenders drizzled with sriracha honey, served over golden buttermilk waffles. --enjoyed the Spiciness it truly was subtle but did grow as you continued to eat. The buttermilk Waffles were fluffy and light and full bite with the drizzled syrup was everything. Enjoyed the flavors of the whiskey flight and happy you have the flavor cards to be able to give the tasting a proper review. Over all price is average in comparison but the food quality is there so I have no issue spending an extra dollar or so. I would like to stop by again when it's less busy.

After initially not receiving a response, I was later contacted by Food & Beverage Manager DeLance Woods. He handled the situation professionally, was polite, and took ownership in a way that reflects well on both the restaurant and the Hilton brand. Instead, I walked into a space that was actually really cool. The first thing you notice is this long, dramatic "O"-shaped bar with tons of seating, which immediately made me feel like I needed to sit there... so naturally, I did. As a creature of habit, I plopped myself belly-up to the bar and locked eyes with what can only be described as the star of the show: the frozen vodka tap. Yes. A frozen. Vodka. Tap. Sheesh. As if that wasn't impressive enough, there's also a literal frozen sheet of ice built into the bar where you can set your drinks to keep them cold. I was both amazed and slightly concerned for my future decision-making. Trying to be responsible (and not get sideways alone at a hotel bar), I kept it light and ordered French fries, because I am a certified fry freak and a house garden salad. The fries were exactly what fries should be: hot, crispy, fresh, and wildly addictive. The garden salad was also super crisp and fresh, but the real star was the dressing. I'm pretty sure I ordered three ramekins of it, and if shots of salad dressing were socially acceptable, I would've been in trouble. Service was great too. The bartender was welcoming, friendly, and made the whole experience feel relaxed and easy, no rushed hotel-bar vibes here. Overall, great atmosphere, excellent fries, dangerously good dressing, and a frozen vodka situation that I will absolutely be thinking about again. Would 100% return... and maybe next time, I won't "keep it light."
