The positives are the complimentary SPARKLING water, and the very nice bathrooms. My husband got the shrimp tacos and He thought they were fine. I ordered the appetizer of steak bites and seriously I had to chew about 25 times for about 75% of the pieces, I had asked for the medium rare and they were more toward medium well. We ended up at Moxies on a whim. It seemed like the most popular place around and had a great big patio area. We snagged a spot outdoors and overall enjoyed our experience. Lychee martini and Moscow mule to start, then some sushi and steak. Honestly everything on the menu looked good, I must have been hungry. When my steak came out, they asked me to cut into it in front of them. I thought that was strange, only to see it was nearly raw... so this must be common? I said it was fine but they pressured me to send it back. That was odd. It took quite a while to a new one to come out. I loved the decor and ambiance. The restaurant has two sides: an elevated sports bar and a formal sit-down area. The dinner menu is available on both sides. We sat on the sports bar side, and even though it was a bit crowded, we were still able to have conversations and enjoy our meals. I ordered the chicken pasta and my mom had the baby back ribs. Moxie's was hands down one of the food highlights of our Texas vacation! The place was clean and welcoming. We sat at the bar and service was great! The food was absolutely amazing. The steak was cooked to perfection. It was tender, flavorful, and exactly how you'd hope it would be. And the fries? Truly to die for....they were crispy, seasoned just right, and completely addictive and these were just the plain fries. We were in Texas for a total of five days, and that's how good Moxies was...we ate there twice. That alone says everything. Consistently great food, satisfying portions, and flavors that kept us coming back for more. I thought I wrote a review when I was in for lunch a few months ago, but I was mistaken. This will cover lunch as well as a great dinner we shared recently! The space is always packed, so reservations are a must unless you want to wait. Both times we selected high top tables near the bar area. Not sure if the dining room proper is any quieter but the noise in the bar is deafening and makes conversation hard. That's the only reason for four versus five stars, because the food is excellent. Our favorites are the appetizers - shared Brussels sprouts, lettuce wraps and steak bites and that could be a meal in itself. Entrees were also tasty, although my sesame tuna salad was drenched in dressing so you may want to ask for it on the side. Servers are kind and prompt. Worst service we walked out without eating Our friend had walked down and talked to the server ahead of time because our other friend had a 30 minute break for lunch. We ordered immediately and after 34 minutes our friend had to go back to work. We went to talk to them about it. they said they were boxing it up . Several minutes later we ask what was going on and they won't happen to be boxing up the entire order. Kelsey is an incredibly rude supervisor who absolutely does not take accountability not to mention the restaurants kind of creepy because it looks like a Robert Palmer video. All the servers are in black and are all looking the same. Like an upscale Hooters if you know what I mean. Absolutely do not recommend this place, which is a shame because the menu looks appetizing however, when you have a collection of wait staff were concerned about fitting a mold of management you're not going to have people that really care about serving. They are too busy looking in the mirror and adjusting their lip gloss. From looking at the outside and the tvs, I expected this to be a casual sport bar-ish place. Surprisingly the inside was very nice and modern, great for a laid back dinner. We walked in without a reservation on a Friday at around 5:30pm and were seated immediately. Happy hour was still going on (offered from 3-6 on weekdays). Ordered the thai chili chicken appetizer from the happy hour menu, it was tasty and a good sized portion. Also ordered a few drinks, including the wine which was a generous pour. Great experience with the happy hour. For entrees we ordered the chipotle mango chicken and the chicken madeira rigatoni. Very happy with both meals and the service.
