I went with a party of 10, and despite a little hiccup with getting the bill sorted out, our server was able to work through it. This is over a week late posting. Wife and I love restaurant week, we pull up the restaurants in the DFW metroplex or wherever we are traveling and see what's out there. Came across Bacchus Kitchen and found it interesting for being, in my words, a hotel lobby bar. The menu looked promising, we made reservations and to our surprise the food was amazing. We ordered off the restaurant week menu, with wine pairing, and there was an octopus special the chef was offering that I had to try. The Mgr Laura explained every dish and wine pairing that was served. Before dinner we arrived the checkout the hotel and stumbled across the Magnum speakeasy in the lobby where with our reservations were given the code to enter. We had such a great dining experience as well as excellent before and after dinner drinks. We will definitely be back and feel this is a hidden gem in Grapevine. read more

I rarely like to share bad or mediocre reviews. But our server last night was indignant if not downright rude. One of the best things about this time of year is DFW Restaurant Week. My wife and I were excited that our friends invited us to a dinner here with a group of six people in our party. We arrived at 7pm on a Friday night and the restaurant was not full, but the bar and the lobby were a buzz with people. We were seated promptly and given normal menus. Our server - Andrew - had a very annoying habit of coming up immediately after we were seated to asked if we had a drink order. We were going to order cocktails but had not had a chance to look, let alone greet our dining compatriots. When we placed our order for table-side martini and the Bacchus Old Fashioned, I asked if Andrew could bring us the Restaurant Week (RW) menu. He brought ONE for the six of us. Immediately, I began to sense that Andrew was not happy were were there for RW as he informed us before ordering that either everyone had to order from the RW menu, or none of us could. That's a crazy "rule" and not one we've encountered anyplace else. Never the less, we all ordered from the menu. The mushroom toast appetizer was unique and tasty. The bourbon pimento cheese spread was everyone's favorite. No one ordered the 3rd choice. For the 2nd course, most people got the salad, but two of us got the tomato basil soup. Not much to call out here except for the large shavings of some kind of white cheese on top of the salad and the drizzle of pesto olive oil on the soup. For entrees, one person has the mushroom risotto, I had the meatload "au poivre" and four people got the pan-crisp salmon. Some said the fish was dry. Some said the cooking was uneven. My wife didn't like that it only came with potatoes (as did the meatloaf) and no greens. We didn't date ask Andrew to substitute anything. We declined dessert and went downstairs to the Wine Cave. We came over here to celebrate Father's Day and it was such a great choice! We made reservations before hand so easy coming in to sit down and start the meal. Martin greeted us as we sat and took our drink order. As we looked through the menu, it became hard to decide what to get, but something about their burger kept calling out my name, so the burger it was. Martin brought out our drinks and the espresso martini was delicious. I love that they had their own spin to it, adding hazelnut, because it's good to be a little different. I also love that they weren't batched, because you can definitely tell the difference. The foam on top of an espresso martini is one of my favorite things about the drink, and it was so foamy and velvety! The burger, man oh man, that burger slapped hard! Since it was a smashburger, there were two patties on the burger that were seared amazingly perfect on each side. The one thing I really appreciated is that the middle of the patties were still juicy and moist, and it was nice to get both textures in every bite of the burger!! My dad got the burger also, and agreed that it is one of the best burgers he's had in a long time! As we wrapped up our dining, my son wanted some dessert, so he decided the chocolate cake. I looked at the price and was like wow, that must be a good piece of cake, but whatever! And when the cake came out, we understood why! The cake was big enough to feed 6 people, and I love how light the cake was. Some chocolate cake can be heavy and chocolate forward, but this one had some great balance, and loved the chocolate fondue they had on the side! I've only been here a few times for lunch, and I'm a fan. The food is just so pretty.. I mean look at that Vineyard salad with those gorgeous radishes and cucumbers so perfectly sliced! And the tomato soup is beautiful even when you have to order it without croutons. The menu is pretty simple but the choices are excellent -- sandwiches, a burger, pasta, steak frites, soup and salad, fish. Your usual suspects, but all excellently prepared with quality ingredients. It's a little costly because you're in a hotel, but I think it makes sense for the food and atmosphere! read more

Consistency of food and chef is a huge issue for me. I returned twice a month love the bar staff, but unfortunately, the menu changes the food changes the wine changes. And as it turns out, apparently the manager changes way too often and with that inconsistent food and drink drinks. This is just one complaint but it's a consistent complaint. I hear over over it to sit at the bar for food. Hope it gets better and consistent. Survey the staff, they know what as consumers want. read more

I have had two experiences here one for breakfast and one for lunch. Both of these experiences were as a group with my work team. The long and short of my review is that I would definitely come here for breakfast again, but I could not imagine myself coming for lunch again. When I came for breakfast it was absolutely delicious. The service was impeccable. Everything was great. Absolutely no complaints. Most recently, when we came here for lunch last week, I am going to say it was quite the opposite experience. The service was lackluster and unfocused. We even ended up having to ask someone else that worked there if they could find our waiter for us, after he had disappeared for about 15 minutes. And then, when he did show up after she went and got him from the other side of the bar, he had no apologies or acknowledgment that we are just all been sitting there for so long. Add to that that my chicken sandwich was not very good. So, if I average my five star breakfast experience with my two star launch experience, I'm gonna give this place a generous 3 stars, rounding up from what realistically is probably a 2.75. I was in grapevine for work and me and a co-worked stopped by for a drink! The bar was very busy, but the bartenders were super attentive! Everything we tried, food, wise, was also delicious. I had some of the best Shishido peppers of my life here. I ordered from the breakfast menu...had the option of an English muffin or a croissant, so I went with the croissant. Big mistake. Why do restaurants never sell good croissants? This one tasted like they just warmed up a stale one. If anyone knows where to get a legit fresh croissant, let me know. Also had a yogurt parfait,pretty standard, nothing special. My son reserved a table for 8 for a birthday brunch for my daughter in law. The service was very slow. My husband ordered a Korean chicken sandwich and found a string around the chicken. When we raised it to the server she ran away with our plate . When she returned, she just said, they are remaking your sandwich. He was not going to eat it after the gross experience of having a string in your mouth. Not a manager or a kitchen representative came to explain or apologize for the terrible meal. Lovely restaurant located inside the Vin Hotel. We dropped in for lunch, and much to our surprise, they did not have much of a business crowd on a Monday afternoon. And they do hVe a business lunch menu for $25 -- an app/soup/salad and an entree. The hotel was soooo cold, I opted for the white bean and chicken soup. And I snuck some fries from my colleague -- who raved about her salmon. We also all shared a bottle of Albariño, because it's a business lunch and why not? What a gem! I came here for dinner and was seriously impressed. I had the short rib--perfectly tender, rich, and packed with flavor. But the real surprise? The potatoes. I don't know what kind of wizardry they're doing back there, but those were unreal. Creamy, buttery, and borderline addictive. Also tried the bacon-wrapped dates--sweet, savory, and just the right amount of crisp on the bacon. It's a classic combo done really well here. Started the night with pink lady oysters (including an amazing mignonette sauce) and wagyu tartare, both delicious and the best part of our meal!! For our entree we had a filet accompanied by mashed potatoes and a couple asparagus. The filet was very tender but lacked a little bit of flavor in my opinion and the temperature was slightly off, mashed potatoes were delicious. The food and service are always fantastic, though I do wish the menu had a bit more variety since the selection is pretty limited. All the other nice hotels and restaurants in the area do this, and it really makes a difference for locals who want to come back often. Came to Bacchus for dinner for the first time for Restaurant Week. Very cool and trendy-looking hotel restaurant attached to Harvest Hall. We got a corner table by the window with a nice view outside. Service was great. Our waitress was very nice, polite, and informative about the menu. Appetizers Summer Peach Salad, Meatballs, Truffle Ricotta Of all the restaurant week appetizers I've tried, Bacchus has the best ones hands down. The grilled peach salad was so crisp and refreshing. My husband was a big fan of the meatballs as well, saying they were very tender and the sauce was delicious. The best app overall is the Truffle Ricotta. It smelt so nice like truffles, but when you actually eat it, the truffle wasn't overpowering at all! It was so fluffy and smooth and served with really crispy lavash crackers. It's one of the best things I've eaten in a while. I couldn't finish it one sitting and had it packed up to take home and ate it on everything I could find in my pantry--crackers, toast, even a bagel lol. Entrees Airline Chicken, Strip Bass The chicken was delicious and juicy, and the mashed potatoes were sooo smooth. Strip bass was really nice too, served with a crispy skin, and not fishy at all. The pasta was just a little bit salty, especially when eaten by itself, but it all balanced out with the fish. Overall, really cool place. Ya'll, I was expecting a Thoroughbred and got a DONKEY! Had dinner with friends at this beautiful "upscale" restaurant that I have been looking forward to all week! Upon entry, you are surrounded by elegance and a posh atmosphere of movers and shakers that can only be delivered by The Hotel Vin. Waitstaff bustling about in slacks and vests, patrons dressed to impressed, long stem wine glasses adorning ever table. You would think we would be in for a culinary experience that is matched by $$$price tag? Wrong We started the evening with Steamed Mussels & Clams, Lentil Soup, and Bombas(basically a shepherd's pie, rolled into a ball and deep fried, that was actually pretty tasty) The Steamed Mussels & Clams were simmered in a saffron chili broth that had a nice flavor, but the flavor was muddled by bits of sand from them not being cleaned well. The Lentil Soup was good with a hearty flavor and silky texture. But, everything after that? Bring on the CLOWNS! One couple had the Ricotta Ravioli that were stuffed with butter poached lobster and nduja(a spicy southern Italian pork sausage spread). Both were unseasoned, and the ravioli themselves were soggy instead of being billowy, with a soft snap in the pasta. My husband's was cold, and it took him 10 minutes just to flag down the waiter to send it back. The Chef did refire the dish, and it came back to the table the way it should have been hot. Unfortunately, it was not reseasoned and bland. At the very least, it should have had a little kick from the nduja, but well... They were out of the 16oz double bone pork chop and substituted it with a 10oz regular Fried Pork Chop for the same price? It was under seasoned as well. The Chilean Seabass looked more like and split baked potato and was just as underwhelming, with roasted potatoes that were just as unrecognizable. She also ordered the grits and roasted brussels sprouts as a side, and they were hit and miss as well. You know how grits work. If you don't season the water properly in the beginning, they ain't NEVA(not never, but Neva) gon be right. Trust me on this. The Green Circle Chicken with lemon, oregano, and olive relish was a naked half bird that was cooked well but dying to be rescued by a little salt and pepper. Both 20oz Cowboy Steaks were once again unseasoned and served to the wrong individuals. Both steaks were also unevenly cooked, with parts that were completely inedible. When we bought this up the waiter, the solution offered was, "Sir, I am so sorry about that. How about a FREE DRINK on your next visit?" Seriously, you made that up! Especially on a $75 STEAK! The honey carrots, ordered al carte were really good, with a great balance of char and sweetness from the honey. I had the Veal Ossobuco with eggplant mash, gremolata, and au jus. The veal was tender and tasty, but not the knockout dish that I have enjoyed at home or at other establishments. I mean, the gremolata was even bland, and all it is is fresh herbs, citrus zest, garlic, salt! So, how does that work? I guess they were out of the eggplant mash because what I got was mashed potatoes(if you out, please just tell me) We were hoping that maybe, just maybe, the key was in the dessert. It wasn't. The Banana Bread Skillet was supposed to be a skillet of banana bread, with banana foster and topped with ice cream. Now, wherever they got that ice cream from? They knew what they were doing. It had a caramelized espresso flavor that was not too sweet and buttery. It was beautiful. The Banana Bread was doughy and lacking the main ingredient. BANANA!!! There were no hints of cinnamon and no "Banana Foster" anywhere insight! Two of us got the Chocolate Bomb that was misleading on a whole other level! On the menu, it was described as a creme brulee with almond cake. So I was thinking some sort of chocolate dome(which it was) with a layer of almond cake and creme brulee type filling. NOPE!! It was a thin layer of flavorless sponge cake and chocolate mousse, covered with a dark chocolate ganache. The cake lent nothing to the dish at all. The mousse was silky, and the ganache was smooth and decadent. It tasted great, but deliver on your promise. Don't tinkle on me and tell me it raining! Aside from the let down on the food, the service was just bad. Empty glasses and water pitchers not being cleared from the table all through service. No offer of refills. Foreign object in a glass of Dr. Pepper. Plus, they had the audacity to charge an alcohol tax for a Mocktail of Lime, Sprite, and Mint! Really? None the less, this was my first 1 STAR review. I don't know their rules & regulations but I do know none of the girls in our party enjoyed their meal. Everyone kept a smile on their face given it was our friends birthday but it was rather painful to experience (steak was undercooked certain areas, pasta had shrimp that was too chewy to eat -I left mine on my plate), no steak knife given to us, COLD food) first hand. We sat at the same table for over 3 hours we had been waiting on 2 girls however the food, drinks, service overall took too long. There were 8 girls total in our group and they had to split the bill 2-3 ways. A 20% gratuity "service charge" was on there as well. While I understand the nuances of owning a business the staff in my opinion should be extra kind and attentive in a higher end restaurant given the tip is included. Sinay could not handle the table herself and it was evident. She was gone for long periods of time, actually mentioned at one point during the meal "can I take your drink orders so I don't have to keep going back and forth?" We went to Bacchus for a pre set Valentine's Day menu. On the menu we got some wagyu steak tar tar, filet mignon and for dessert we got the chocolate lava cake. Everything was really good and I really enjoyed the steak tar tar. I was a little disappointed with the dessert because it was suppose to be a choice between lava cake and cream brûlée and they were out of the brûlée and it was early in the evening. I can't imagine that management takes the once pleasant and nicer fare sit down restaurant and make it a horror show of people walking thru and around your tables gawking at the tree lights. The most uncomfortable meal I've had anywhere. So if you think you want a reservation there cause the holiday lights are up, and you want to get away from the street crowds.....this ain't it. It's because they have the wisdom to let the street crowd in at will and they not spending money, they are there to wreck your dinner. My waitress was great, the manager accommodating by moving our table from a door that let a virtual parade go by every 5 minutes. But whoever doesn't stop and think about stopping the gawkers shouldn't be working there. Block off the restaurant from the bar and the hallway and reroute those people from the hall or from somewhere other than past my table. So disappointed. I have to qualify this review with the fact that we dined on a Saturday night during the Christmas festivities in Grapevine. When we entered the lobby, we could not believe how loud it was. We stop by the hostess desk to check in for our reservations and wanted to have a cocktail while we waited. The bar was completely full. At one end, there was a long line to order a cocktail. We asked if there was anywhere to sit down with our drinks and the hostess responded by just lifting her hands in the air. Our table was available on time and we were greeted by our server. We ordered two appetizers, the mushroom toast and clams. The mushroom toast arrived truly burned on the bottom, which was the dominating taste. The clams arrived less than hot and in a strangely stringent broth. We sent back the toast and declined a second try because the bread was so thick and dry and the toppings very bland. My wife had the trout and was satisfied. I had the meatloaf. It also was surprisingly bland and I'm not used to meatloaf being medium rare on the inside. The entrées were delivered in ceramic serving dishes with two handles that would high center on the slick table top and just spin when you tried to cut and fork your food. Serving our food seemed to take way too long and our server, while he would pass by as often, rarely checked on us. We were celebrating my wife's birthday and they offered us a complementary dessert menu. I'm suspicious that the complementary menu is different than the full menu because the three choices were very simple and the chocolate tort was very average. As we were preparing to leave, I asked if the restaurant validated parking and he said the first hour and a half is free and it's only a dollar an hour after yet when we picked up my car I was charged $15 plus tip. One surprising note.There was only one set of restrooms, with two stalls each, to service the bar, restaurant, lobby, small event space, and reception which resulted in lines all evening. While some people avoid restaurants associated with hotels, this is one that you should definitely try. We took some friends from out of town for Sunday Brunch. What a great experience. First off, the ambiance is excellent. IT feels like a busy terminal in a busy city, but just off the flow so it is being enjoyed. Second was the service, which was excellent, attentive and sensitive to some special food needs in our party. Last, and most important is the food itself. They had creative items for those more adventuresome for brunch, standard eggs and bacon items for traditionalists, and a good mix of pure breakfast and pure lunch. Several at our table had the Loaded Green Chilaquiles. While Chilaquiles I have had at other restaurants are soggy to the point of being a casserole, here the tortilla chips are still crunchy. It was basically a breakfast nachos plate, and it was wonderful. Warning to those who do not like spice, the salsa Verde has a good kick to it. Other favorites at the table were the Grilled Chicken Sandwich and the Prosciutto Flatbread. Cocktails were good with the exception of the Traditional Bloody Mary. I admit, it was traditional in the sense that it was a shot of vodka and some highly ordinary and commercial bloody may mix poured over it, and it was also quite small given the glass size and the amount of ice. For $14 I expect something better than the equivalent of a bad Blood Mary served at a college gameday tailgate. This was brunch and they should be ashamed of that, which is why my rating is a 4 star, not a 5. read more

First timer. For the price you're expecting good food, however it was hit and miss. The bread was dry like it was cut hours before and left out. Rosemary honey butter was good. Butter lettuce salad was good, gave it an A. Tomato Bisque was too acidic, a C- because it could have been corrected prior to being plated. The main course tenderloin medallions were excellent, the chef can make a great risotto, an A. The grapefruit pavlova, was a fail. Reminded me of those chalky mints we eat at weddings. Give that a D+ only because it was creative. But the guests have to be able to eat it and it wasn't. Although we tried most was left on the plate to be tossed in the trash. Thought the service was good, not enough restrooms only 2 stalls for the women, which means long lines. Which we're used to but after spending a hundred + on the meal, it's a bummer to have to spend time waiting in line. Only one women's room for the entire restaurant. BK+bar, we can definitely go out again! Let me tell you why I will be seeing BKB again: We had a party of 4 celebrating my moms birthday. This was our pre-party before our Jazz wine train. At the host stand I told the young lady we were only having appetizers and because of that we could only sit at the bar, outside, or in a lounge area, although that was annoying, it ended up working out fine. The service was impeccable! We had a great waiter! He didn't have a name tag on but he was wonderful!! We had champagne and it was $20 a glass and my sister loved it!! Appetizers are around that same price range: 15-25. The charcuterie board was good, I didn't like the "smokey" aka burnt bread it came with unfortunately. The beef croustini were so good we ordered a second one! The flavors worked well together but remember the bread is crunchy so protect the roof of your mouth! We arrived at Bacchus on time on MOTHERS DAY and were seated. They brought over two glasses of champagne. We then sat there for 30 minutes with no additional Contact from Anyone. I then stopped a waiter and asked "are you all short handed today, we've been waiting for 30 min." His reply was "let me take your drink order." This was the same waiter that passed us by 5 times without even Acknowledging us during our 30 min wait. We ordered our food, which was very good. I wrote a note to management on the receipt about our experience, left a $2 tip on a $110 food bill and handed it to the Hostess to give to Management. When I checked my credit card statement 4 days later, they had not run the tip. The Sevice gets a -5 on a scale of 1- 10, the food gets an 8. read more

We stayed at hotel Vin and have nothing but fantastic things to say about the hotel itself. Bacchus is another story. The food was good but the service was terrible. We came early for breakfast. While seated, we were ignored by the waiter for 15 minutes, not even a greeting while he stood at his front kiosk. Despite being only two other groups at the time, he took 10-15 more minutes to come take our order. Coffee took 15 minutes to bring. We asked for water refills which never came so we had to ask the manager to bring them. Such a bummer that an otherwise cool place was blemished by a single bad server. read more

The food and service were ok. Multiple times they kept on getting our orders incorrect, and our food was served to the wrong people. Everything was extremely pricey. My colleague and I wanted to each order a plate of our own, but share the two items. We got charged 8 dollars per person for splitting the plate. It wasn't like we only had one plate between two people, we had 2 plates and two people. We also had 2 appetizers and 2 sides. Charging extra to share was ridiculous. read more

What a great meal and environment. The hotel is beautiful for start. The drinks were all well made. The meatball starter was delicious and I liked it much more than the buffalo burrata. The burrata had very sour tomatoes. My main was the 8oz filet and it was awesome. The potatoe sides and mushrooms are must trys. My friends had the pork chop and it was delicious. We had a great experience at this place last night for dinner. Firstly the Hotel VIN decor and vibe is beautiful, modern and classy. Secondly our server was very attentive and knowledgable of the menu giving us good recommendations and bringing us out water and drinks. To start We had the meatballs which were fantastic and the buffalo burrata which we really enjoyed, very Mediterranean flavours. Two of the table had the 8oz steak, 1 had the pork chop and I had the Colorado lamb. All of them were cooked to perfection with great flavour. We shared the puree potato, crispy Brussels and cauliflower and the roasted spring mushrooms, all were amazing. I didn't even get pics because everybody dived straight in.
