This is Karen again! This is my fourth post about Jack & Grill. My third post I said I am back again and I still can't find anything wrong at this place. The menu is very diversified and the food is always good no matter what you order. A good place to watch sporting events but also great for families. There is never a crumb on the floor or messy table. All of the staff is friendly and seem to enjoy their jobs. This all comes down from the manager Mike and especially today with our server Makinzee. i'm very picky about hamburgers at these kind of laid-back beer joints. So I ordered a double patty Wagyu burger. Used Uber eats and was very impressed at how hot and moist it was when it arrived. Well overdue for a review from me... I used to only go here to meet some buddies for happy hour. Excellent beer selection and some great craft options are always available. Staff is very friendly, from the wait staff, bartenders and greeters. I ventured into the menu after about 4-5 visits and have found their food to be really good much better than I expected, and that has me now going for both food and drinks. Burgers, pizza, chicken fried steak, Philly cheesesteak, and definitely have to mention their wings! On a street filled with various food options, don't sleep on this place. Stopped by this cute area on the way to the airport. We were drawn by their wings. My daughter and I are both big fans of chicken wings. I ordered a burger and fries and my daughter got the bone in wings. Although simple, I thought the flavors of the burger and smoked wings were fantastic. It wasn't very busy on a weekday afternoon. The service was very good and there was plenty of street parking in the area. Great service and food, I would definitely come back again when I'm in the area. read more

Jack & Grill has been one of my go-to spots since 2017, and at this point, we've eaten here a lot--like... a lot a lot. The food is consistently excellent, and a few dishes have become absolute staples for me: the wings, the fajitas, and what I'm convinced are the best salmon tacos in the entire area. The staff is even better. They're always warm and welcoming, and on multiple occasions they've gone out of their way to entertain my kid while I actually get a chance to enjoy my meal. Little things like that keep us coming back. They also have an incredible lineup of 52 rotating beers, so there's always something new to try. The recent remodel looks fantastic--fresh, modern, and inviting. While it's not quite a sports bar, there are plenty of TVs with games on, making it a perfect place to unwind and relax. Jack & Grill is a regular stop for us, and honestly, it should be for you too. Highly recommended. read more

I'm a regular here. There is a new bartender. Website was down. I pointed it out to the bartender and was not given a menu. I could see that I would not receive the same level of service I have in the past. I notified the individual that maybe I should go to a different restaurant. He shrugged his shoulders and I left for an alternative venue. read more

Well the spot is small and cute. The bartender Natalie is the bees knees but I don't think she's there anymore. We order from the office. I always get the pepperoni hot honey pizza. However. No gluten for me now so we will see what I try next. Lots of different beers to try also. read more

I really want to like this place, but there have been some hick-ups. We've been here 4 different times now (there was a failed attempt at visit 5 that is explained below), and I'm just not sure if we'll be back. The Good: The location is in super-cute downtown Roanoke, so it's all the locals (love). The mozzarella sticks are really good--fresh, the pulled pork nachos are solid, and they have, hands down, some of the best sweet potato fries I've ever eaten. All of their appetizers are quite tasty and very reasonable priced considering the generous portions. The bar has I think 80 gazallion beers to choose from, the wait staff and bar tenders have ALWAYS been delightful--friendly, attentive, great with suggestions/questions, etc. The atmosphere is really nice (great bar stools with comfy backs, nice tables, everything is clean including the restrooms). When it gets busy, it echos really bad so it can be a real challenge to hear, but being busy is by no means a bad thing...we just yell at each other through dinner. :D The Reasonable: the food items not on the appetizer list are just "ok" at best. The burgers are underwhelming (salting a burger really helps...not sure their cook knows that trick), the pizzas are greasy but taste alright, and I've yet to find anything on the menu that would keep me coming back as a regular (except those dang sweet potato fries). The Bad: we stopped in on a Friday night and the place was packed (gotta love happy hour). No seats at the bar, but they had 2 tables open, four at seats each. We asked how long the wait was, fully prepared to get on the list and wait. We were told by the teenage hostess that there was no way a party of 2 could get on the list...only large parties. What?! I even asked for clarification...it was so bizarre. As we were walking out confused, she said the same thing to another couple behind us trying to get on the list as well. They wouldn't serve us! We left and went to Alliance (for the record, we hate Alliance but were hungry and desperate). And despite what some of the other reviews are suggesting, we have NEVER seen a manager circling the floor, nor have we ever been approached by one. Maybe new management or additional training needs to take place. Maybe we'll try it again seeing as sports bars are hard to find outside of the Alliance area. Use to eat here a few times a month. Then I moved 2 hrs away and have stopped occasionally. I took a friend and my Wife there mid week while in town. It was busy but we were seated right away. We gave drink orders a beer a margarita. It took 10 minutes or so. The server brought the margarita and a sample of beer as they were out of what I ordered. We ordered food and about 20 minutes the food arrived and she said there were still 20 tickets ahead of me. About 5 to ten minutes my Beer arrived in time for the last few bites of food. I will say the food was as good as usual. I am not sure who or what the hold up was but I probably won't be back soon, they also charged me for two beers not the one I received. read more

I stopped in recently and ordered the Habanero Smoked wings, and they were cooked to absolute perfection--crispy on the outside, tender and juicy inside, with that perfect balance of smoky depth and habanero heat. Seriously some of the best wings I've had in a long time. What really made the experience special was the server, Mac (Makinzee). She was an absolute delight--super kind, full of energy, providing recommendations that hit the nail on the head. Beyond that, she is genuinely nice. The atmosphere here is spot-on: relaxed, cozy, and easy to unwind in. It's the kind of spot where you can kick back and enjoy without any rush. Cheyenne = best server ever! The food is always amazing! We go every week! But Cheyenne is the best part!

Can't believe I'd never been here before! Some friend from Dallas wanted to watch some football and they love finding spots with a great craft beer selection, this was a great choice! Nate served us, he was fast and friendly. We split the sampler and ten pulled pork sliders, everything was REALLY good- fair warning, I like heat- the jalapeños can be really hot! The seasoning on the waffle fries is delicious and they were cooked perfectly. They have a fantastic beer menu with staples and seasonal rotators. I went with friends, looking for a good casual meal. Our experience was a bit of a mixed bag. Service was good throughout, seated quickly, server brought waters while we looked over the drink menu then drinks came out quickly. The food was more hit and miss. My wife had the eggrolls as a main course and they were well cooked, meaty enough and the sauce had a nice kick. Another at the table had the Skinny Girl Turkey Burger and it too was good. I had the Philly Cheesesteak, which was a sad representation of that standard product. Very little cheese, very little steak. The sauce was tasty, but overall a big disappointment for something so basic. Another at the table had the Reuben, which was also a disappointment. Again, very light on the corned beef and the kraut. Find flavor, but not a good representation of another bar food classic. For sides we had waffle fries, sweet potato fries and the spicy Coleslaw. Evaluation - waffle fries were soft and flavorless, sweet potato fries were not quite crisp enough but good flavor, spicy coleslaw was excellent with a wonderful pepper kick. The draft beer selection here is very good, so no one had any trouble finding something they liked, and the mixed drinks were creative as well. Conclusion: Not a great place for a meal, but an excellent place for snacks, beer and sports. Since there are other sports bars closer to my house and equal or better, will not likely return. read more

Can't find one negative thing about this place. First went to watch game on tv, but now we go for the excellent food and service. It is so nice to be greater by Mike everytime we are there. He does everything checks and delivers food, helps staff clean tables and makes sure everything is to our satisfaction. Mike also makes sure the place is clean and you are enjoying a pleasant time. I ordered a cucumber gin and tonic, and it was only $7! It wasn't even during happy hour. Jack & Grill has a lively "divey" atmosphere with a wide variety of beer and food to choose from.  We went on a busy night, and the service was trying their best to keep up with the demand.  The dining area feels a little cluttered...like the tables could be spaced out a little better.  I feel like a few of the times that we were waiting, it was because the wait staff could not see us. My salmon tacos were excellent.  My husband's reuben was good.  His mac & cheese was not good at all...very watery. My tips would be to make sure that you are seated in a more visible area...and to avoid the mac & cheese. read more

We met some friends for dinner. I absolutely love this cute little area in Roanoke not too far from my hometown of Flower Mound. It was very much a bar and grill type atmosphere. It has mainly high top tables, but it does have some regular height tables as well. It wasn't too loud, but we were there on a Thursday. The food was great. my back was to the restaurant and the server, but our friends thought our server was just not a happy camper. I wouldn't say it was the best service I've ever had but I didn't really notice the attitude she had. The drinks were a little on the weak side but the prices were better than most. Two of us got out of there with one meal each and three alcoholic drinks and one nonalcoholic drink for $47 plus tip. Not bad for nowadays when everything has gone up. read more

Not sure who I need to speak with and who needs to read this post but the manager by the name of Mike Rogers had to absolutely be the most disrespectful manager I've ever seen. A young server was on the front porch working and too about 2 minute break to speak with a customer and fellow coworker when Mr Roger's came outside to say (Didn't I tell you to wipe those damn tables off, get back to work and do your damn job) my girlfriend as well as other customer where taken back by this sort of behavior being that he was the manager talking to his employee this way. If anyone can get this message to corporate I would appreciate it because this could have been your child he was speaking so negatively to. Great sports bar! This place has a great atmosphere, well thought out design. Food is great! I have been here twice, both the CFS and burgers are good! Their Jalapeño sauce is awesome! Service is always fast and pleasant. My only reservation about this place is that it's not closer to home. Wish we had a place like this in Keller. read more

Each time we've gone the service has seemed a little overwhelmed, but the food got to us with a reasonable wait time and was super good. Portion sizes are generous and worth the money. Unexpected- It appears they share restrooms with a business next door, which is a good thing. The next door business is a professional office. So, the restrooms are not typical sports bar or restaurant restrooms - but rather super clean, spa like quality. I was literally shocked. read more

It was a beautiful evening to sit in a patio so we decided to try this place. It did not disappoint. I ordered the adult grilled cheese and soup and it was delicious. It could have used some pickles but other than that very good. The soup was creamy and I could have had a whole bowl of it. My husband had a chicken buffalo wrap and said it was good but buffalo sauce could have been spicier! We had enough for leftovers for lunch the next day. Amazing food and service. This is the second time us visiting this place but the service and food was so good, I had to do a review. Our friends, my husband and I went to this place after the movies and enjoyed their food and service immensely. Chloe was our waitress and wow what a great server she was. She was very friendly, upbeat and attentive. We ordered onion rings, two orders of spinach and mixed vegetables and they all were very delicious and so reasonably priced. Okay, I've always been a big fan of Jack & Grill. However, recently, they've changed their boneless wings. They are now chicken fingers vs. wings. The problem here is that they are dry AF. I love the sauce, but man, so disappointed. Why change things when what you had before was your driver? We will still go, but I won't be getting the boneless wings again unless they fix them.
