Atmosphere is nice and open with plenty of bar seats as well as communal high tops and standalone tables. Nice outdoor patio when Texas weather permits! Tried a couple of their beers: Miso Smooth (Japanese rice lager - 5.5% ABV) and Soul Fire Ultra Light (American Light Lager - 3.7 ABV / 15 IBU). Both decent enough for what they were, the latter being helped by the fact it was only $3 a pint. For food, tried the newly opened Zaep Zaep Thai joint. Had the Thai Basil Combo Fried Rice and an order of Spring Rolls. Seriously good stuff! Unexpected quality for a food court! The chef (owner?) also came into the bar to check to see if our food was to our liking. Definitely a nice touch and I wish him much success. Olivia's Scratch Kitchen serving African cuisine was the only other option open. Was a tough decision and hopefully will be back soon to try their offerings! There was also a cupcake place (Kid Kakes) that seems to get great reviews, but with Oak St Pie Company just a few doors down... well... sorry Kid Kakes! At only 20 years old, the bartender did a great job serving us and was more genuinely personable than many who have done the similar job for years. I stumbled across this place for my birthday, as I wanted to try a new brewery. Located in the quaint downtown area of Roanoke, this is a great place to stop if you like beer and/or cocktails. There's ample room to sit inside, a large bar area, clean bathrooms, a large patio in the front, and in the back there's a restaurant and .. what looks like a dining hall in the back if you'd like to order food from a small restaurant. Each time I've visited, the staff was extremely friendly. If it weren't so far from me I'd be here all the time! The beer was top notch, as this was the best Hazy IPA I've had, and look forward to returning and sipping a nice cold beer soon! read more

My husband and I were walking around the downtown area and decided to come in for a bite to eat at the food court. The food court itself was pretty dead but the inside of the brewery was busy. We sat outside on the patio. There is ample amounts of seating and there were a few other groups who were sitting out there with us as well. On our recent trip from Ohio to Fort Worth to visit family, I discovered Soul Fire Brewing while searching for breweries to visit. And this brewery did not disappoint. We were greeted by a very nice gentleman, and he went through the menu with us and asked our tastes and recommended the Roanoke IPA. We decided to try that . It was a great tasting IPA light on the hoppy tasting side, which was perfect for my wife. John introduced himself to us after he served the beer, and it turned out that he is actually one of the owners. We met one of the regulars and the overall atmosphere was exceptional. You enter through a huge patio filled with plenty of seating into a nice size bar area with plenty of seating as well. We would highly recommend trying this estaishment and we for sure will be back. read more

We stumbled upon this local bar after eating dinner one night in DT Roanoke. We heard so many good reviews about this place so we had to try it. Apparently tonight was trivia night. We popped in to watch the game Saturday and was pleased with the seating and tv options. This is the anchor for the food court that is to your right. You can bring any item in from the area and then sit on their big covered patio or find a spot in the open air. We saw quite a few people with puppies. Major plus for us as dog lovers. They make their own brand of beer but also have some popular options to choose from. We have been SO excited to try this place, and boy it did NOT disappoint! Between the beer, food, and service, it's awesome!! It's basically a brewery with a food court. It's SO much fun!!!! I love food and my husband loves beer, so it was a perfect combo for us both! I also loved how family friendly it was. We went with our two young daughters and they had a blast! Decided on a flight of three of their beers. The The Flavus Maximus Blonde had a nice blend of bitterness and crispness to it. The Hefe on the Wall Hefewizian was smooth with citrus notes. My favorite may have been the Raspberry Blonde which was light and had a slightly tartness to it. While traveling in Texas, my wife and we met her half-brother at Soul Fire Brewing Company. A place her half-brother recommended for us as we have a great love a craft beer. Nice little brewery located in an older section of Roanoke that looked to be a fun place to hang out. I started with the Cinnamon Toast Brunch Money Stout and my wife with the Cosmic Theory IPA Double Hazy which I then tried on my second round. I really enjoyed my Stouts and this one had a good taste and would order it again. My wife really enjoys her Hazy's and this one did not disappoint either of us as well. Nice brewery in a cute little town with some good service. We were happy and when we are up in Northern Texas again, we will definitely be stop back by Soul Fire Brewing to try out the other beers. read more

A nice set up! Walk in where Soulfire is and see their place a then a nice well set up food court. My husband tried several beers, you'll have to check out Martin Kleins yelp, but I tried the Bishop Cidar apple pineapple. Yum! Yes of course, pineapple apple pen came to mind. Lol! This cidar is something you can sip on a hot summer day on the back patio talking with friends or some good social media. Tried the taco place in the corner. Gentleman who helped me was just awesome! I ordered the nachos thinking I'll get something small and covered in nacho cheese, well was I wrong! Chips covered in a light white nacho cheese sauce, shredded cheese, chicken (my pock but there's steak, pulled pork, jerk chicken, el pastor) was my choice, chopped up jalapenos, beans and guacamole. This place is great! The beers were all excellent and there was Karaoke! We had about 12 people in our group and we were able to hang out on together. They have a decent size patio and there is a food court in the same building with several options. When the food court is fully staffed it will make this place a 5 star review. This is a VERY well designed brewery. You have the tap area to get beers and they have an attached food court with burgers, sandwiches, ice cream stores etc. That alone makes it a very family friendly venue not to mention it is all located inside with air conditioning, a requirement if you live in Texas. The beer selection was also high quality as well and very reasonably priced! Soul Fire is an awesome location & facility in Roanoke. The staff is super friendly, the beer selection is very good and I can't wait to go back again and again. The reason why I took off one star was for a couple of reasons, the bar area gets crowded very quickly and can sometimes be hard to get an order in. The other reason is that the beer menu is on a screen rotating through their options. It's honestly kinda a pain to try to read through all of the options that fast, especially if you're looking to try something new. I'd love a static display (even if its a screen) of what all the beer options are. The 3rd reason why I took off a star was due to their actual brewed beer. It was juuuuuust ok. I know that they are brand new and will be tweaking the recipe, so as soon as they get more of their own beers in stock and I can try those I'll update with a new review. Definitely check this place out, walk through the food court and pick up some good food and grab a beer! read more

This brewpub has some good beers, but there's really no excuse having one singer with an acoustic guitar singing so loud it bursts your eardrums. Either 90% of the population is already deaf, or the manager checked out and left the mice to play. We found a table as far away as possible but the music was still painful. Is it just me? I'm not sure if this review counts only for the brewery for for the food as well. So I will give some opinions on both. To start, the environment is varied with a large open patio, and indoor bar area, and a wide indoor food court area. It's nice to have these different spaces and typically seating can be found even during the busy times. As for the beer, we have enjoyed the beer on tap that the brewery makes themselves and the selection from other breweries. We typically get the brewery's own since almost all have been good. As for the food, there are 3-5 restaurants on the inside and all are good. There was a point a year or so back where the choices were limited and some of them were not the best quality. Our recent visit revealed that the new restaurants that are there replaced the ones that we didn't believe to be that good. The new ones offer more variety and a higher quality. So I think it's good on all fronts and this place is where we will typically meet people when in the area. read more

My husband and I like supporting local businesses so we were excited to check this place out. Mind you, I do not like writing negative reviews, but this was how our evening went. It was a mellow Saturday night and the brewery was somewhat half full and not as busy as I expected at 8pm. We were not sure if we are suppose to grab a seat, or order at the bar, because it took a while before getting anyone's attention. You had like a group of guys just chatting away behind the bar to the far left and the lack of service or no service continued. So, we went to the other side to order some fantastic chicken on fries and the gentlemen that took our order was super friendly. We tried to get drinks there but they were not affiliated with the brewery. We kind of shared our thoughts of the service on the other side and he did mention other guests feeling the same way. We ordered some really flavorful chicken on fries with sour cream and chives and we decided to try one more time to get a beer. We finally grab someone's attention at the bar, but I swear it seemed like the guy and gal behind the bar had no service experience and they hired maybe family or friends. The gal didn't know how to even assist a customer or even count cash or give the right amount back. They did have a younger waitress on the floor that did a great job towards our end of the night. It blows my mind when you open a new business you would want a successful turnout any day of the week right... I couldn't say this place will be the place I would want to come back to until all the other restaurants in the back gets rented out. I will end it with the coffee porter was a delicious treat and the outdoor patio is nice. read more

Our new favorite place! What a great concept! This place reminds me of a mini legacy hall, where you have various food vendors and bar that services all the food venues. We attended the soft and grand opening of this brewery. The brewery itself reminds me of one I frequented in Bishop Arts with the garage doors and the industrial feel. There is a mini stage that a local musician was performing on. I appreciated that the sound from the music did not drown out our conversation even though we were only one table away. I can see this being a hot spot for hanging out with friends because of this. The patio is quite big and can accommodate large parties. Inside is a little more intimate with smaller and a couple of bigger tables. I've been sampling their beer at the soft opening and various local festivals and it is amazing! The owner was telling me about the multiple first prize awards they have received through the years. At the grand opening, I got a flight so that I could sample the various craft beers. I chose, Dave's Wit, Sunday Smash, Yellow Rose, and Helmet Hammer. My favorite was the Yellow Rose! You definitely could taste the Rose. It had a wonderful sweet aftertaste and it went down smooth. The Sunday Smash had a great robust flavor with a sweet undertone. My husband's favorite was Dave's Wit. But, he prefers light beer and said it was perfect for a Sunday afternoon and to just chill on the patio. My other favorite was the dark beer, Helmet Hammer, that was rich and full bodied. Goodness! It was a strong one and I was feeling a little light headed after drinking that. Just how I like my dark beer and it took me back to when I lived in Germany and had good dunkel beer! My husband ordered the berry mixed cocktail. He really enjoyed that and said it was fruity, light and refreshing. It was nice that the cocktail and wine selection was good if you are not a beer drinker. The staff serving me was friendly and attentive. I would highly recommend this place for a date night, LNO or even for a relaxing Sunday afternoon. This was a family and pet friendly place.
