Fun place to stop for a drink and hang out for a bit. You can bring in food to enjoy with your beer or they sale pizza/ pretzels as well. There are a few board games like Connect 4/ Trouble which is nice if your trying to entertain a young one while having a brew. We enjoyed the sampler option, drinks were fresh, cold. Solid beer bar in the Keller area that offers rotating taps and a digital menu. I am always looking for barrel aged stouts and curiously for the season (January), this place did not have any on tap. Maybe they know their customers and I'm not the target. I went with a bottled Double Vanilla Noir Barrel aged stout with Madagascar vanilla and Tahitian vanilla from the cooler at a wicked 14% ABV. The beer was $12 and they charge a $2 corking fee (?). My other half likes sours and found one on the menu she liked. The room is cozy and has a nice local feeling to it. Others in the place seemed like regulars. We stayed until close (11pm Friday night), squeezing one more each in at last call. The bartenders seemed a little impatient, but can't blame them especially with pandemic impact on the service industry. We tipped well. read more

Came here for date night on a Friday night - it was steady but not crazy busy. The bartenders were friendly and quick to get our beers out. I love that they have 40 different taps to try, and you can see on their screen information about the beers and their keg status. When reviewing a place like this, I think you have to take into account the alternatives around it. We just moved from San Diego, which undoubtedly has a bit more beer-centric culture. Considering the limited options available to craft beer drinkers in this area, What's On Tap is a completely satisfactory establishment. Pros: 1. They are open on Mondays, when many breweries are closed 2. They have an extensive beer list 3. They allow outside food 4. They allow children inside 5. The service is very, very friendly Cons: 1. The menu is disorganized. I am not new to beer and know exactly what I like and do not like, but the menu didn't appear to be ordered or grouped in any logical way would allow someone to quickly locate the beer they wanted. 2. Poor selection of music. This might vary depending on who is bartending, but I'm of the opinion that most restaurants and bars should avoid 80s pop. Overall it was a fun time at What's On Tap and for Keller residents, a great place to stop in regularly. read more

Stopped in last (Monday) night for Beer Creak Run Club and could not help but to notice that the case that held the goods from the Proper Baking Company was no longer on the bar. I saw a few of the menus on the tables, but I don't know what's up (he he) with the tasty goods. And I forgot to ask, as the running group got into a conversation on marathons and pets (two different conversation threads). So, while this is not much of an update, I didn't want anyone reading my previous review and come by looking for the Proper Baking Company goods. They might not be there, so call first if that's what you are craving (I was). Other than that, I'm still super impressed by the beer line up, and now I'm hooked on pint night, which appears to be every Wednesday night. I love this little hole in the wall. The staff are always happy and willing to assist in a beer selection! They have a great selection on tap always. Every Wednesday they have a new taping from a different brewery which is always fun! Thursday nights they have trivia! So bring some friends and make a team to compete. They do not have much for food but they will allow you to bring in food from outside or use DoorDash/ Uber eats. They do have flat bread pizzas and a few other snacks available there in case you don't want to order anything delivered. They have 2 TVs so it's not the best place to go watch a game. You can also pay to have your growler filled or pay for a Crowler, which they will can any beer you want! I will continue to come back! Love this place. read more

There are (up to) 40 different beers available to choose from many of which you can try and the bar tenders did a great job of describing their flavors as well as recommending an appropriate beer based on your tastes. The only reason why I took away one star was because they don't have any food to offer. They do allow you to bring in your own food, which we'll likely do next time so we can stay longer, but once / if they get their own food, I'll update with an additional star! This was my first visit to this location. The beer was on point. The staff was friendly when I arrived around 4pm on Thursday May 2nd. I wanted something to snack on while having a couple beers. I decided to order a cheese pizza after being advised to not try the burrito. They told me the pretzel was good but they only had mustard and no cheese dip so I passed on it. The pizza was lacking in presentation being served on a paper plate, but it surprisingly had a good flavor. There was a shift change at 5pm. The new guy seemed friendly but the customers seemed to know more about the beers than he did. One customer asked about the flavor of a certain beer. Instead of letting her taste it, he tasted it to answer the question. I thought that was odd. Are they supposed to drink on the job? Regardless this is a good place to find craft beer but don't recommend the food. read more

I always appreciate a good craft beer (in fact, I just spent a couple hundred dollars on craft beer at a local liquor store since they all looked so good). I've heard a few people talk about this place so I thought I'd give it a try. I came here on a rainy Saturday evening so I was delighted there was ample parking out front! Went inside and there were several people here - the first thing I noticed was that it was pretty cold & loud! We sat at the bar but still found it difficult to hear each other. In fact, this is the reason we did not stay for a second round. I also appreciate drinking and places that have a good ambiance - and I felt that was the one big thing lacking here. They lived up to their name and reputation - tons and tons of craft beers. The bartender was friendly and quick - always appreciate good service. As others have mentioned, they do not have good there but that was okay since we had just ate (and there are tons of great places around). Overall I would not go out of my to come here, but if you like craft beers and are in the area it's certainly worth checking out! read more

We like beer, my wife and I. So we were very excited when we heard that What's on Tap was coming to Keller. Finally a local growler fill! We were there with friends the day they opened for the Ballast Point pint night and we have been back at least weekly since then. Each time buying 4oz samples, buying full glasses and filling a growler or two. Thus far everything has been 5 Star at What's on Tap in Keller. Yesterday (1/7/17) I met my wife at What's on Tap to buy a new growler and have it filled as a birthday gift for a friend. When I walked in Jake addressed me by name. Now that makes you feel good. Thanks Jake! Of course we have to try a few of the new taps to make sure we choose wisely so the wife and I have a seat at the bar, buy a few 4oz "lady pours" and begin making our decision. At this point Jake is filling a growler for another customer with Epic Big Bad Baptista when he empties the keg. Now if you're reading this there's a good chance that you're into good beer and growlers and that you understand the excitement of emptying one keg and getting a new keg tapped. Brad, the owner, has arrived behind the bar and we ask: "What's the new one going to be?" "Don't know yet." "OK, well we're going to have a few more beers and wait and see. Maybe we'll fill the birthday growler with the new one." 15 minutes later. "Have you decided?" "Nope." Another 15 minutes. No decision but Brad is two feet away working on his laptop and it looks like he's close to making a decision. We order more beers. We're talking with Jake and Brad about the kegs they have in the back based on what we see on the Digital Pour app. "The Alesmith Mokasida would be great! Oh, you've got Stone Xocoveza. I can't wait to try that one on draft! Wow, another Epic Baptist!" Another 15 minutes. Now we've been at the bar, buying beers for over an hour. I have a growler sitting on the bar with me that I'm ready to purchase and fill when a gentleman walks up to the bar with a growler of his own. Brad says "May I help you?" "I was hoping to get the Epic Baptist but it looks like you're out of it." Brad: "I was just about to replace it with the Epic Double Barrel Big Bad Baptist. Would you like that? Yeah? Let me go hook up the keg for you? My wife to me: "Is this really happening?" Me: WTF? Brad returns from the back and pours a glass. To the gentleman buying a growler he says: "Here, would you like the first taste?" The gentleman says "yes" because of course you want the first taste! So I put my growler back on the shelf, asked for our check, paid and left. I was so angry that I couldn't say anything for fear of making a scene in a public place. Now I'm left to write a passive/aggressive Yelp review. (I hope you're enjoying it so far) What was Brad thinking? That seems like really bad form and at the least rude. Does he not want people to be excited about his establishment? Maybe we came across as desperate rather than excited? Are we not the sort of people he wants at his place? We were pretty happy to find this place. We recently moved to Texas from Michigan (Beer City USA, actually) and are pretty hard beer snobs. We were pretty disappointed that the beer culture in DFW is basically nonexistent. What's on Tap gave us a little taste of our old home. They have a great selection of well curated beers on tap. Anyone can find something they like. Several ciders, a mead or barley wine, and a couple wines round it out. They also have a selection of bottles to go.
