Fried chicken, mashed potatoes with jalapeno creamed corn gravy, green beans

Great venue, service and food. I was a solo diner tonight and was given multiple seating choices. Close to band, away from band, table or booth. Tonight I was feeling back room incognito. The band was great though. Very nice 3 piece playing Hendrix and Stevie Ray. My server was Emeline and was helpful with my menu choices. Food and Bock style beer was good. The green beans needed to be cooked longer as they were a bit firm. Price was reasonable $25 with beer. The venue, scratch kitchen and band made this a good deal I thought.

I'm so glad to be back in this neighborhood, enjoying the great beer and food at Bankhead Brewing! This place has consistently provided many positive experiences and this visit was no different. Our order included one house-brined bone-in pork chop. It came with Yukon Gold mashed potatoes, creamed corn, Brussels sprouts and garlic butter. The portion serving was good for the price and I'm completely satisfied . It was tender, juicy pork chop, bursting with flavor, and perfectly complemented by creamy mashed potatoes topped with sweet creamed corn and charred Brussels sprout salad. Our Caesar salad was great especially after adding a redfish fillet which was perfectly cooked, flaky and well-seasoned, made for a light but satisfying meal. I finished with a serving of Sherpa's Secret rice beer; it's a must-try if you've never had that style before. Its crisp, clean and incredibly refreshing quality makes it a perfect beer for a large meal. The service is equally impressive, Thanks, Kali M. for making this visit a great one.

I really enjoy this place and have been here many times already and have had same consistent experience. Their cocktails, beer flights and food are absolutely delicious. I also really like their service each and every time it's great. Sometimes it can be a bit too loud for conversation but their food and drinks are worth it.

Exceptional customer service from Emeline and the staff. I highly recommend the hotel nacional special cocktail. The tropical juices were delicious and perfectly blended. I selected five award-winning beers. Mile marker 10 was my favorite from the list. I enjoyed the strait up sour, but not so much the hoofer's hef, and gussy up. The off-the-map was smooth and light. I ordered the big bend pretzel, carnivore of love pizza, fish & chips, and happily shared the fried pickles, tikka masala poutine, Mediterranean chicken, and Nashville hot chicken & waffles. The big bend pretzel was indeed giant and softly baked. I wasn't a big fan of the smoked beer cheese. It was watered down and didn't have much of a beer cheese flavor. The fried pickles are beyond delicious! Each pickle spear was huge and perfectly battered with panko. The sriracha aioli paired well with the pickles. Carnivore of love pizza had a thin crust that was topped with protein. But, is it worth paying $20? The same goes for the $18 fish and chips. Regardless, both are delicious! The tikka masala poutine, Mediterranean chicken, and Nashville hot chicken & waffles are all flavorful and worth trying during your visit. The establishment has a dark, elegant, laid-back vibe. Note: Brunch menu is available Sat & Sun. Ask how long the Rodeo Features menu will be available.

We arrived on this Friday night and my hopes were dashed a little when we had to park in a muddy parking lot next to the restaurant. All that disappeared the minute we walked inside. You're transformed into not just a restaurant but an experience. They had the best blues band playing but not so loud you couldn't talk. Then the sweetest hostess took us right to our booth. As we walked thru the restaurant we noticed families and patrons of all ages. They were met Emeline who was quite possibly the best server we've had the pleasure of meeting. So sweet, personable and guided us thru our entire night of beers, appetizers and main dish. We will always ask to sit in her section when we come back. So the beer selection is large and don't forget to ask for tastes. They are very friendly with letting you try before purchasing one. I happened to love the Hoofer's Hef which is a great aromatic Hefeweizen. We started with two apps. The BLTA dip which comes out with crisp and delicious pita triangles and this unbelievable cheesy dip that is out of this world good. We also had the Brussels sprouts and I'm quite the expert on good Brussels. These were by far the best Brussels I've had EVER! No kidding they were cooked perfectly and even had cranberries in there that gave it a little extra push to perfection. After seeing all the pizza around us we opted to split the Carnivore of Love. It was awesome! All those meats on top and the crust was so good. Only thing wished for was a little stiffer crusted underneath to hold it up. So we had to eat with a fork. It was cooked though so not complaining. Every Friday and Saturday they have blues bands that play. We loved that it wasn't too loud like some places where you can't even talk. This is our new favorite date night spot. So many things on the menu I we want to try and absolutely loved the atmosphere they had on this Friday night! BIG WIN!!

I enjoyed my first trip to Bankhead Brewing during Elite Week! (I'm not Elite...yet :D) I tagged along for their Yelp Elite Week and I was excited to finally check this place out. Initially, we ordered one large pretzel and it was indeed sizable. It was warm and soft which came with a delicious dipping sauce. What a great way to start! The Caesar salad with redfish fillet(add on $$), my main course, was outstanding. Perfectly complementing the crisp, fresh romaine and tangy dressing was the flaky, well-seasoned, beautifully cooked redfish. It felt light and it was satisfying; the experience was perfectly balanced. I also had a bite of the bone-in pork chop and wow!! it was incredibly tender and it was also flavorful. The outside had a great sear, the inside was juicy and the seasoning was perfect. We were there right at opening and the service was impressively smooth. With extraordinarily outstanding beer along with impressively large food and a remarkably inviting atmosphere, the brewery is a place I would undoubtedly return to. I am exceedingly grateful to Yelp for the singular opportunity to experience Elite Week at my own expense.

Wow! A MUST TRY! We've never been here before, came by to check out their brunch. The menu looked incredible online & I am here to tell you it is!! We were seated immediately, the staff is friendly & even helped with recommendations. We started with a flight & quickly found two beers we loved. The pickle spears have the perfect amount of breading on them, the dips and sauces they use for everything have been thoughtfully created and speak volumes towards the care they want to showcase in their food. It looks good and tastes even better! If you're a spice freak like me go for the Cajun shrimp & risotto I'm so happy I deterred from my original thought of brunch & instead tried a signature dish. We will be back soon to try more! High five to whomever curated the recipes!

Staff took good care of us during our visit. The lay out of the place seems like it would be great for an event with the stage set up. I ordered the fried pickles which had the perfect type of breading. I got to have some of their pretzel & chicken tiki poutine that others with me had ordered and everything tasted good. For my meal I got the chicken and waffles from the brunch menu. I would for sure get the chicken again, like I took note of a hot chicken sandwich on the regular menu.

Stopped in here after a day at the Stock Show and found a cool atmosphere complet with live music. We came for Elite Week and started off with a couple of beers, a Rear - ended cocktail, and an order of Texas Twinkies- prosciutto wrapped stuffed jalapeños (a nice sized order of 4). They were so good, we decided to stay for dinner. We ordered a Street Taco pizza, a Korean BBQ pizza, and a full rack of St Louis ribs (my entree) that came with green beans (still had a nice snap) and mashed potatoes (had corn gravy on them that was SO good). Everything was really tasty! The ribs were very flavorful and tender... I ate 4, gave hubby and son 2 each, and brought 4 home. I was stuffed! The pizzas: both guys liked both pizzas, but agreed they liked the Street Taco pizza best. I want to come back and get the Mad Honey pizza- sounds amazing!! Service was very attentive but not overpowering and the manager stopped in to check on us. Nice touch. If you have the chance, I'd say it's definitely worth the trip!

Brought my oldest son and youngest daughter here for a Saturday brunch today. The location as its own parking lot which makes things a lot easier for the area it is in. The inside has a rustic old feel with dim lights which was actually really calming. I loved the metal tables as they feel clean. Kally was our waitress and she was very attentive and checked on us multiple times. She was helpful with ingredients as my daughter is allergic to eggs and I had to check a few menu items with her. I'm not a beer fan however I told this to Kally and she recommended a sour lemon beer and WOW! I loved it. It tasted like a lemon sour patch kid. We got the Tikka Masala appetizer and it was amazing. It wasn't spicy at first bite but it builds up for sure but in a perfect sense. I was a little disappointed at that most of it was fries and not much chicken or peppers and those were so good! I think the balance could use some work. Both my kids ate it which was surprising. I got the steak medallions in a chimi sauce and asked for them rare. They came medium or even a bit over so that was disappointing. Overall the dish didn't equal the cost at all. My son got the banana bread pancakes and the flavor was good. I honestly agreed with him the the texture was oddly moist - almost like a tres leche cake. Oddly overall, I would be back for that beer - even though I'm not a huge beer person. It was so good!

Bankhead Brewpub did an amazing job during our visit! My husband and I ran into somebody we knew during our visit, which was amazing to get to catch up with her and give each other a chance to try each others apps! First we tried a pretzel which was huge and very filling. We tried the tikka masala fries which were delicious and for sure had a nice little bit of heat from the peppers in it. We also tried the fried pickles that came in spears, the breading on them was perfection, as they didn't get to soggy or easily falls off as some other fried pickle breading can get. My drink was ok, but I may try one of their cocktails next visit, I ordered this Mediterranean chicken dish, which I will for sure order again. Fresh veggies as the side and the chicken itself was yum. They do cut the chicken in half horizontally and put the things like the sun-dried tomato on the inside. Which surprised me but was appreciated. Our fellow yelper let me try a slice of her pizza which was decent. I like that they have a stage with speaker set up, I'll likely reach out to a friend of mine to see if he wants to set an event up there!

The decor and theme are inspired by New Orleans/Creole/Cajun vibes, and it's beautifully put together. The layout of the location is a slight "L" shape, so seating can be a bit limited during busy times. It's a seat-yourself setup, and they provide QR codes at the tables for you to place your order and pay when you're ready. Now, onto the food and service. Unfortunately, the wait for both food and drinks were longer than expected, even as the rush began to die down. Our pretzel appetizer didn't arrive until near the end of our meal, and sadly, it was overcooked. Drinks The beer was great and a definite highlight of the experience. Here's what we ordered: Appetizers Giant Pub Pretzel ($13.99): A 12.05 oz pretzel served with signature beer cheese and beer mustard. Unfortunately, this dish was a disappointment. Despite being called "Giant," the pretzel was thin, and was a bit overcooked. While we enjoyed the beer cheese, the beer mustard could have stayed in the kitchen. Loaded Broccoli ($8.99): Steamed broccoli seasoned with Cajun spices, topped with melted cheese and your choice of chicken, beef, or pulled pork. I chose chicken, which was delicious and well-seasoned. However, the cheese was a huge letdown, it had an odd, roux-like texture and flavor that nearly made the dish inedible. Entrée Voo-Dill Pickle Pizza ($12.99): Made with roasted garlic pesto, fresh mozzarella, thick-cut pickles, and a special Voo-Dill seasoning. While the concept was intriguing, the execution fell short. The pizza crust was undercooked, and the pickles seemed like they were added at the very end instead of being baked with the pizza. The garlic pesto was the highlight of this dish. Desserts -King Cake Slice ($3.XX): Clearly store-bought and not made in-house. It also took a while to reach our table, which was odd considering it's pre-packaged. The kitchen area even had the King Cake box visible. Beignets ($7.99): Over-fried and served with icing that was overly lemony, which overpowered the dish. Side Order Jalapeño Slaw ($2.99): The star of the meal! It had the perfect balance of mayo and vinegar, with a fresh kick from the jalapeños and Cajun spices. I wish I had ordered more! I think this place has a lot of potential. The concept is fantastic, but the kitchen needs improvement. I do plan to return and give it another try because the space and the idea are great. Hopefully, next time the food lives up to the vision!

Then as things were nearing completion, I remember seeing a couple of employees somewhere and asking about it, and they said that it would be in "phase two". Then sometime later, I remember a construction guy telling me, "there ain't no phase two, what you see with Texas Live is what you got, there isn't going to be any expansion". I could never find anything out. Then about six months or so, someone who works there told me it was being built in the corner, and would be open soon. I figured I'd believe it when I saw it, and now it's here. It's a nice space, with a separate entrance. Really went upscale more than you would see in most taprooms. I think only the Choctaw Lounge is nicer, and you can't hardly get into that place. The bar top is almost as long as the room, lots of stools. A good amount of pub type tables, and a larger community table, along with some low height chairs and tables. All pretty nice furniture. Couple of roll up doors open into the patio during nicer weather. My couple visits, I've seen several beers that I've never seen on tap anywhere else. Revolver is supposed to be doing several beers for this location only. Lot's of different beers, and this is probably the only place you'll see with this many of their beers on tap at any given time. I've done the brewery events in Granbury and they usually have maybe 6-8 beers on tap. I'm seeing 10-15 different beers on tap here. You can also get food in here, most of it items from Lockhart BBQ. But there are a couple things unique to the taproom, including the chili. The chili is pretty good, but the jalapeno cornbread is fantastic. Anyway, really nice, great place to hang out. Plenty of TV's and usually some decent music in the background. Prices are higher, which is expected because of the location, but I've paid about $7-$10 for different beers. Looking forward to more special beers. Too bad all the beer snobs hate Revolver, some good new stuff in here.

There was also a cupcake place (Kid Kakes) that seems to get great reviews, but with Oak St Pie Company just a few doors down... well... sorry Kid Kakes! At only 20 years old, the bartender did a great job serving us and was more genuinely personable than many who have done the similar job for years. All-in-all a great impulse decision after The Original Roy Hutchins BBQ line ended up being far too long to wait in!
