Got seated pretty quickly at no reservation at 630....waiter was nice. The decor is understated and modern. I got the fish tacos with basmati rice and street corn. It was amazing!!! Fish cooked well. Slaw and pico tasted good. Rice had a lot of cumin which isn't my favorite but that's me. Street corn was great. I don't like sweet flavors at all and this meal was a wonderful savory experience. Good food and drinks in a fun and friendly atmosphere. We came here for a birthday celebration on a Friday night. In general, the food was well made and the drinks were good. I had the barramundi. It was served with potatoes and Brussels sprouts- both were delicious sides. The fish was a very thin fillet and, unfortunately, was over cooked. Others had the salmon and raved about it. The server was attentive but it took over 30 minutes for our mains to come out. When I made the reservations, I noted that we were celebrating a birthday, but they didn't do anything special. It's fine that they didn't celebrate, but perhaps they should remove that question from the reservation system so they don't give the impression that something special will happen. read more

We love Oak and Main and have been eating there for several years. Today, Father's Day we went there for lunch and the A/C kept dripping on us. It had been awhile since the waitress had come to check on us, so we sat there with drips for a while. By the time we were finishing up, we let our waitress know. She said yeah "it has been happening for 2 years and just an old building". What kind of place has A/C condensation dripping down on their customers for two years? Stopped here on a whim for some lunch and it hit the spot! My friend and I didn't have a reservation but were seated quickly. We had littles with us and they were very accommodating. We ordered the steak frites (amazing!), a burger, grilled cheese from the kids menu. Everything was fresh, quality ingredients and excellent. Late in the afternoon, three of us decided to head to Oak and Main for dinner. Without a reservation, we knew we were taking a gamble. Walking in, we were pleasantly greeted and informed of a wait. We knew an immediate table would be a longshot. Told to expect a ~30 minute wait, it was about that before we were seated in the bar at a high top. The table was fine for the three of us. Prompt acknowledgement by our server, water, drink and appetizer orders taken. Water glasses never allowed to get empty. Service continued to be very good throughout the meal. Three different entrees tried, each was very good. Mine was the Avocado and Lime salad with a chicken breast added. The salad was fresh, dressing tasty and chicken grilled; not dry. One of us had an espresso martini which received a "this is really good" reaction. Oak and Main is a win. We will be back. Perfect location so when you're done eating you can walk around the cute downtown. Now, about this menu that deserves a standing ovation. There were seriously so many mouth watering options. luckily, I was with a group that likes to share so I was able to try several items. Every bite from everything I had was delicious but my favorite, hands down, was the prime rib. They actually run a prime rib special on Sunday's for $29. Huge portions. definitely enough to share. The lobster BLT and barramundi fish were very close seconds. You cannot skip dessert. even though you will be too full, trust me, take it home and eat later. Your welcome. I highly recommend the chocolate layered cheese cake. I was scared it would be too rich but no-perfectly balanced and it's like 3 desserts in one! Service was impeccable. Our server was wonderful. First let me apologize for the delay in making this review, my husband Gary and I had reservations for our anniversary at Oak and Main on 8/28/25, we were so surprised to see a hand written note from the staff on our reserved table, and we had the pleasure of being cared for by Chandler, which I was actually excited about because I had seen other reviews complimenting him, now I know why, he is a wonderful, intuitive and friendly asset to the restaurant. He gave recommendations and was knowledgeable about the menu. My husband and I were both hungry for steak and we both enjoyed our meals immensely. I had the Steak Frites, and it was so flavorful, the chimichurri was bright, flavorful and a nice kick of spice without being overpowering, and I will definitely get it again, Gary got tenderloin and we both got the mashed potatoes that were so yummy, I had left overs and had to hide them in the vegetable drawer so no one else in the house got them before I did the next day. For dessert we got the chocolate cake and it was all the good qualities you want from chocolate cake, don't sleep on their desserts! We heard about the "new" place opening where a couple of burger places had been. Honestly I just went along for the ride with the other three. Didn't expect much because that location seems not to last long.......well I was wrong! This place is so awesome! We were greeted at the front and showed up early for our reservations. So off the top of my bar. We met one of the nicest bartenders I've ever met. He explained the menu and even offered to change it up a little bit for our preferences. That margaritas was really good and almost knocked me on my *ss. He even told us what to order next and came over to our table to check on us after we were rated. The inside is upscale but very laid back. Its decor is expensive but the staff is very friendly and the prices are extremely reasonable. We ordered the brussel sprouts as an appetizer. OMG they were amazing !! The waitress recommended the prime rib sandwich and it was out of this world good! Even the fries were tasty and cooked perfectly. Finally got a chance to come in and check this place out- Loved the ambiance and the staff is amazing! We sat at the bar for HH and got a house wine (5.00 and tasty) everyone worked so well together! They all seemed to really enjoy their job and working as a team. The bartender Conner(hope unrelated that right) was friendly and helpful. Hubs got the prime rib sandwich and I got the tacos. I have been to Oak and Main a few times and it may be my new favorite spot in Roanoke. My wife and I used to come to this location when it was Dizzy Lucy's and were sad when that closed down. Well...I'm not sad anymore. The transformation of this location is insane. I can't believe how nice it is now, the owners truly did a great job of turning this place into an upscale but comfortable restaurant. The service has been excellent every time I've gone. The servers and bar tenders are friendly and willing to give you their opinion on what they think is the best food for that day (it's all good). They have a great selection of beers on tap and an excellent selection of liquors for cocktails. Each food item has been excellent! Perfectly cooked, delicious mix of flavors which are nicely presented. I highly recommend Oak & Main and I will be back time and time again! Definitely check them out! read more
