I don't write many reviews specifically about an individual employee, but Meriden deserves to be recognized. From the moment I sat down at the bar, she made me feel genuinely welcome. First time going to the Rowdy Cowboy and it didn't disappoint! We dined in to eat after having a long flight and were sat immediately. Meriden and the others working behind the bar were amazing and considering the fact that it was my first time being there it made it memorable in a very special way. I was having a really bad day and I made them aware of it when I was asked and they all made me feel very welcome and cheered me up. I don't make it a habit to fly solo and even though they were extremely busy, largely due to the fact that the World Cup is in the U.S. this year, they all took the time to listen to me and Meriden took the time to converse with me about what I was going through and also told me how she got her amazing beautiful unique name. She was my favorite bartender on this particular evening. She invited me back in the future after I was asked "Do you remember how to spell my name?" My response was as follows. "Yes, of course I remember Meriden lol, it's Mike-Echo-Romeo-India-Delta-Echo-November. " I promised her that I would remember when she came over to me and asked before I left. Another fantastic experience visiting The Rowdy Cowboy yesterday. I visit from Florida several times a year and it's an absolute must stop when I'm in town. Some of the coldest beer, best game day food and with the most attractive servers in the DFW area. On this particular visit, I decided to sit at the bar. The bar staff was amazing. As always. I was blessed with the opportunity to meet the brand new bartender from KC named Meriden. Both her and Hannah were great! Meriden was awesome!! I could hardly believe that it was honestly only her second week on the job after moving from Kansas City. She helped run the bar like a pro. She was absolutely cooking back there, making the drinks and taking care of the guest. I don't know if Rowdy Cowboy recruits these young ladies or they see on social media what a boss place this is to work but the effect is amazing! Finally had a chance to check out Rowdy Cowboy to see what the vibe was all about. We usually spend our Saturdays grabbing a cold one and watching some sports, so this place seemed like a good fit. Plenty of TVs around the bar and a decent selection of beers on tap. No complaints there. We ordered the pork chop platter with jalapeño creamed corn and Parmesan Brussels sprouts, plus a 10-piece naked buffalo wings with fries. The food was okay, but nothing really stood out. You get 2 chops of pork for the whole platter. Good enough to share along with the sides. Wings and fries were average, decent for bar food but not something I'd go out of my way for. Service was ok but wasn't attentive, especially sitting at the bar. You have to flag the girls to fill your drink, looks like they pay attention more for people they know on the first name basis. TLDR...I came, I was ignored, I left. The longer version. Saw this place when it opened, noticed it was in a cursed location, but the parking lot was packed. Looked it up online and figured I would check it out next time I was around the area. Then forgot about it. Someone talking up the place few weeks ago reminded me of it. Weekend night recently, went in around 10 PM. It was busy, but not packed, grabbed a seat at the bar, and waited, waited, the three bartenders working all saw me, but nothing. After five minutes or so waiting time, I was giving it another few minutes before I outright bailed when one came over and I ordered a beer and a menu to look at. Checked the menu out, then another ten minutes maybe went by and I was able to flag the same one down and asked to order some food when I could. Got a nod, and an "okay". Then another ten minutes or so, I finally flagged down one of the other bartenders, gave her my tab check, some cash, asked to be tabbed out and get my change. Got my change, minus the almost a dollar in coin change. Finished my beer, let them have the coin change they never returned, as tip, and walked out the door, where a cop was talking to some guy who seemed upset at something that had happened while he was here. Drove five minutes back to a place I've been to a couple of times and within seconds of sitting down at that bar, I had a beer, and a minute later, ordered my food. Like I said, the place was busy but not packed. Most of the three bartenders at any given time were chatting up other customers, or disappearing somewhere for several minutes or so. They had plenty of downtime to take a food order. I saw other people come in after me, who had ordered and gotten food already. It's a shame, because the place is pretty nice inside, long double sided bar, lots of beer on tap. The scenery inside was very pleasant, so at least this place lives up to that part of their game/name. If the food had been good, and the service even half assed I probably would go here occasionally. But I'll never know because I won't go back. We sat at the bar and after we ordered our drinks not a single one of the 3 bartenders could be bothered to check on us or take our lunch order. When I got here it was a on Thursday night. As always this place is usually packed and really busy. Sometimes it makes me think of being in New York because there's a lot of conversations and with it being a sports bar there's always a game going on. My server during this visit was Ava. Ava was very nice and attentive throughout my dining experience. I decided to order the pretzels and the ribs with loaded mashed potatoes and crinkle fries. The pretzels were so good. They were easy to cut and they felt like they just came out of the oven fresh when i got them. One bite of the pretzels and I was hooked.
