We got sat at a table for 6 with a chair in the side, in the corner, with an uncomfortable view to the tvs. We ordered drinks, which took about 20 minutes to get... and one of our friends didn't even get their drink at all. Nobody came to check on us to see if we even wanted to order food. We told a runner about our friend's missing drink and still nothing happened. Huge mistake cause we were ready to spend hours here drinking, eating and watching the game. So we asked for our tab. And they still had our friend's missing drink in the tab. SMH. I need to come back to try the Brisket & Cheese Stuffed Fried Pickles and Burnt Ends Jalapenos in particular. This stop, I settled for the Ranch Hand - Burnt Ends tossed with BBQ Sauce, topped with an Onion Ring and a few Pickle Slices on a Toasted Bun. (I might suggest a little Red Onion as the Onion Ring didn't add much.) served with Crinkle-Cut Fries that were quite tasty. Not a lot of smokiness to the Burnt Ends, but tender and good flavor. This place is horrible! Went here with my friend who has a service dog, we have been here multiple times but today it was an issue. The manager asked to see the paper work for the dog which is illegal, she was wearing her vest and it was very obvious that she was a service animal. The management was super rude and unprofessional. So this is my 4th time at this establishment and I have a service dog. This dog has been here 3 times and never had an issue. We were met with hostility from management regarding my service dog and had the audacity to ask for my paperwork. HIPPA laws protect us from such violations. So I still showed him my paperwork. Then when we found a spot away from people he then baraded us saying we HAD to sit on the patio and couldn't bypass the hostess line. Which no one is standing in. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Rowdy Cowboy is a great sports bar that raises the standard for what other breastaurants should strive to become through it's expansive menu of food and drinks, friendly and helpful staff, and overall welcoming atmosphere for people wanting to grab a bite to eat and hang out.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I first visited the Grapevine location back in August while on vacation and then I revisited the place a couple more times in October while on another trip. For my 2 week winter holiday, I mostly visited twice a day for lunch and dinner to try out more of the menu and see how their rotating staff holds up. When comparing these experiences to the ones I had at 10+ other similar sports bar locations around the Austin and DFW areas (consisting of Twin Peaks, Hooters, Wild Pitch, Tilted Kilt, Tight Ends), Rowdy Cowboy comes out on top for me. Rowdy Cowboy has similar menu options to the other sports bar like wings, burgers, appetizers, and some fancier entree options, but the variety and quality felt better for my palette. After trying many items on the menu from burgers to steak to dessert, I found that they were all great and none I encountered were a "try once and never again." In general, the portions and quality for the price were pretty good, coming out to be about $20-30 for a filling meal, fountain drink (no alcohol for me), and dessert. My favorites would probably be the smashed double burger with fries, the ribeye with baked potato lunch special, and the butter cake with ice cream. The service was quite good and pretty consistent despite the ups and downs of each of their many rotating staff members and overall, it was much better than most of my visits to other breastaurants. The hosts were readily available to seat guests and willing to help find a good table even when the place was busy. The servers mainly take your order and bring drinks and refills, while the food runners from the kitchen bring the food pretty much as soon as it's done so the food is hot and fresh. The bouncers at night were friendly and willing to have chats with everyone. I was lucky enough to also interact with the owner of the establishment and he was welcoming and fun to talk to, even after I badgered a bit for his autograph on my Rowdy Cowboy Calendar. I noticed some servers were working diligently and proactively assisting guests with refills and drinks while also being open to conversation, and that was fantastic to see. Everyone was dressed well for each day's theme and for those who get the reference, it was like gazing upon top tier waifus who were brought to real life. Some reviews mentioned that the servers sometimes pay more attention to certain tables or regulars and kinda just chat while other customers were still waiting for service and I could see some of that, but it didn't really bother me much since I wasn't in a hurry or there to strike up conversations with the servers. Although I visited the place quite a few times, I rarely had the same server twice, so mileage may vary on your experience with the servers or bartenders. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Rowdy Cowboy has a great aesthetic, with its Western cowboy saloon theme, spicy waifus, and many large TVs broadcasting various sports games.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]The entrance had a pretty cool display case of what seemed to be glasses of different alcohol drinks.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]The main room had a big oval bar with drinks on tap and there were many square high tables and chairs throughout.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] No booths or couches available here. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Bathroom was decently clean and could be better, but that likely depends on the type of guests that show up.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Having TVs in the bathroom was a nice touch, though, so you could continue to listen to the games if interested.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The busboys were really proactive and they actively seem to scope out the place for finished plates or glasses and clean emptied tables quickly. When leaving tables unoccupied, be sure to put your coaster on top of your drink or they might swoop in and clean up by the time you get back. Based on my experiences at the Rowdy Cowboy, I would rate: Food - 4.5 stars Service - 4 stars Ambiance - 4.5 stars Overall, I would round up to 5 stars since Yelp doesn't do halves and because this establishment is relatively new and has a lot more potential to grow and be better than the other larger chain sports bars that seem to have settled for less. I would definitely recommend checking out Rowdy Cowboy if you are in the area and want a place to eat something nice and hang out by yourself or with friends. Kamryn was attentive and intentional, always checking in on us at just the right times without being overbearing. She knew the menu and drinks inside and out, offering great suggestions and answering our questions with confidence and a smile. Busy New Spot! We didn't have to wait long for a Saturday night. Lots of college games:UFC and boxing showing up in the TVs. Tons of TV to choose from! We had the Sombrero , if you love grilled cheese that runs over, this is for you! It had a nice crunch without the burn flavor. Patty was a good size and the crinkle cut fries were seasoned well. Trash can nachos came in an actual aluminum can and dumped onto a plate. Beware of the jalepenos! HOT! Big AX wings were a good size, not a huge. I had the Nashville sauce and ur was a good smoky flavor with a hint of spice. Music city chicken sandwich was huge! This was maybe my fourth visit to this restaurant. The service was great each time. Tonight was especially good, thanks to Natalie. I had the chili which was very flavorful, along with a house salad. The food was all very reasonably priced, especially the desserts. If you like beignets, get their version which has a croissant texture. You won't be disappointed, especially since they come with chocolate and caramel dipping sauces. IMO, they are far better than classic beignets. There's an abundance of TVs which is to be expected at a sports bar, lots of country music was played, and the atmosphere was great each visit. Ok my friends, for those who follow my reviews, you know my "straight to the point" style. Here l have no other choice, since my experience in this place lasted barely a minute. At a glance the place looks amazing. A kind of bar you will take a date or your meaningful one to. But that's as much a I can say about it. After I transposed the door, I saw a guy at the hostess podium, first thing that caught my attention, a male host (not a hostess). Anyway, I moved on. I asked the host if I can sit at the bar. He agreed but then he saw my "men purse". I carry this ever since the pandemic; inside I just carry my glasses, face masks, tissues, reading glasses, glass cleaners, sanitizer, my cigar smoking parafernalia, 2 or 3 cigars, my wallet, some receipts and spare change. The host asked me if he can take a look inside, I asked if that was necessary. He responded it was absolutely necessary. Ok my dear friends, here is the problem with this situation. Coming from a family who used to run restaurants, bars, clubs, etc, I learned something very useful, "when you have to start checking people's belongings, you are already attracting the wrong crowd. This is a newish place that opened up in the jinxed location in the corner behind the defined Red Robin and they are killing it! They're constantly busy and the parking lot is jam packed. We stopped in for lunch on a Friday afternoon (a work day) and it was still very busy - but we were seated quickly. It's really loud with the (great) music and all of the talking. Very fun and lively. Our server was kind of scarce, but there were other employees who were around to pick up the slack for her. We never did get refills on our tea. There are 'a million' TVs everywhere. We started with the onion rings that were served on this fancy 'ring-rack'. They were great! Hubby had a bacon cheeseburger that was hot and fresh. He said it was good. I had chicken fried steak. It was hot & fresh & good, but the batter/crust fell off. The veggies were blah. Tomato basil soup had great flavor and pretzels were soft and fresh mad with a spicy mustard to dip. Hubbys burnt end fried rice will be a new favorite. My cattlemen's steak sandwich was tender and perfectly cooked. jalapeño corn and mashed potato sides were a great way to round out the meal.
