I've visited Whiskeys twice now, and I can say that this is such a great gem in the Dallas area. While whiskey is not my drink of choice, I'm happy to explore outside of my comfort zone at this bar. I have not had a bad drink here, and I doubt I ever will. Seating is limited, but I usually come with 1 person so I've been able to easily snag a seat. During peak hours, don't be surprised if there is a line. This is a great date night spot or a place to catch up with a friend. What a gem to have stumbled upon while near the Fair Park area. Apparently I have been missing out....because all my friends knew about this place but me! It is a smaller space but perfect for a date or a low key night with friends, gave off speakeasy vibes. As a bourbon/whiskey girl, this is right up my alley. The service was great, the bartender made good drinks, and it was just an enjoyable place. I had the gingerbread old fashioned, which was delicious, I also tasted the toasted marshmallow one which was my favorite. My friends had the smoked old fashioned and said it was perfect! We met at Whiskeys for our monthly couples date. The vibe of this place is very chill. Its dim lighting gives it a smooth, mellow, relaxing feel. It can also be labeled as romantic if that's what you're going for. The service was great and the staff was very knowledgeable. We met the owner who was very personable and engaging. We did a couple of flights and a couple of drinks. All were good. We read that this place was pricey, which I guess it can be. But I feel like it was in line with other bars we've been to. As a couple, we spent just under $200 pre-tip ($194 to be exact). The hubby was impressed so he left 28% for a tip. He /we enjoyed the pours, customer service,music, ambiance, and conversation. Wow! Just wow! I had my first visit to Whiskeys last night, and I am impressed! This place is such a vibe. This is a cocktail bar that specializes in fittingly whiskey and bourbon drinks. The bar staff is great and are all accommodating. You may have to wait about 10 minutes or so to get in but it's worth it. I hate lines. I'm allergic to lines, but my friend, the bouncer, and the couple in front of us in the line all told me that it's worth it! They were not wrong! Stumbled upon this place leaving a yelp elite event and idk how i haven't found this or heard of it before. It gave me whiskey speak easy vibes and they have some great cocktails available whether you're a whiskey/ bourbon connoisseur or not. From the elegant decor, musical ambiance, the strictly enforced dress code, and simply just watching real mixologists work on their craft, this was definitely one of the better cocktail bar experiences I've had. They have a wide variety of creative whiskey inspired cocktails from bourbon margaritas to gingerbread old fashioned's with prices starting from $15 and up. I will say on popular nights like a Friday or Saturday you definitely want to get in a bit early as it isn't the largest location and gets packed fairly quick. Drinks of the night- Classic Old Fashioned: (4.7/5) Can't go wrong with an old fashioned! Strong but delicious. Got this one because we were nervous about the other ones lol. Maybe next time we will venture out more. Smoked Old Fashioned : (5/5) His favorite! The smoked element of the drink was so perfect. Complimented the whisky well! Bulleit Pineapple Daiquiri: (3.5/5) This one in my opinion just had an interesting after taste. Still drinkable, I just wouldn't order it for myself again. Blackberry Bramble: (5/5) my favorite ! It you want to get ripped off on drinks, or like waiters manipulating credit cards, then this place is perfect. This place is awful! i was a 1st time attendee with my Soror on Friday (4/12/24) to Whiskeys. It was the worst experience of my life because "the dark-skinned male waiter" hustles and manipulates female patrons by over charging for drinks and placed an unauthorized tip for himself on my tab. This place SUCKS! Check this out: I ordered two total drinks called the "Impeachment" which by documentation cost $16 each. My Soror who was with me ordered a drink for $11 called " The Texas Mule" for my Soror (friend). Initially, we were greeted and seated by someone else and I thought it be all good. However, this "black-dark-skinned male bartender" took over and had a terrible attitude, but I ignored his awful service and focused on the I'm beyond of the atmosphere, and the delightful conversation that I was having with my sorority sister. The "dark-skinned waiter" was non-attentive and never filled up my water glass, provided a coaster for my second drink, and was completely negligent. Nonetheless, when I asked for my final bill, I was a little tipsy, but not waisted. This is when you have to watch the waiters for the "FUCKERY". I closed my tab, and when he (the waiter/server" but was also very surprised that he tried to force me to sign for a $59 bill. In my mind, I was thinking I only had two drinks and bought one for a friend, "there's no way that this could be $59?" so I asked the waiter, why is this $59... When I objected because he did not show any hospitality in providing a coaster for my drinks or give me any water in my glass as refills, I didn't think he deserved a tip on my tab, I said politely "no I just would like to pay the bill that I am of what I owe. This couldn't be the bill of the 3 drinks," I said. He then shoved the payment kiosk in my face to sign for a bill of $53, impatiently hoping I wouldn't notice the inflation of my bill. By that time I knew I wasn't going to tip him, and just wanted to LEAVE! I signed the final authorization for $53.04, agitated but not really understanding what he had done. So this story gets worse when I looked at my bill the next morning, it said that it was $53 which means that he overcharged me $10, and then to add insult to injury put another charge on my card today for $18 and 25 from whiskeys for a forced tip! This place is a rip off, and leave it up to black establishments to do this kind of shit. I am requesting the owner refund not only my $53 but also the $18.25 that is charged on my credit union of Texas account on 4/15/24. This is called deceptive trade practices and theft by Whiskeys to your merchants.Unfortunately, I didn't discover it because I had trust that you did the right thing until Sunday evening (4/14/24) I was over charged me for my drinks was one thing-----But for you to try to "force" me for tip you for over priced drinks was NOT going to be authorized by me! So I see you waited until I Left the establishment and then you ran my card for $18.25 against my wheel which is now in a quote pending status ". You broke the law and you got the right one becuase I will sue "Whiskeys" For deceptive tray practices and illegal authorization and usage of my debit card. Whoever the owner is better fix this!! I will never ask and refer to go to "whiskeys" because it is a rip off, and they must be pretty desperate for money to do this to their customers. If you go, there only carry cash and never, never give them authorization on your bank card. I have all of the documentation, and I have left a note in their mailbox for them to contact me demanding a refund. In addition, these pictures justify everything that I'm saying. It just goes to show how we do our own people-- good old upscale " hustling patrons kind of establishment." I will never ask and refer to go to "whiskeys" because it is a rip off! I spontaneously popped in here after work last night cause it's a few minute walk from house. The bartender was very cool (didn't catch her name) she gave some good recommendations because I'm not a big whiskey drinker. I had the smoked old fashion and cinnamon old fashion. I'm back! Hoping todays experience will be much better. I will say ... I don't like having to pay $10 to park and it may be something you want to consider. It's good if there are other places in the area to visit. Upon walking in I wasn't welcomed. I wasn't greeted or handed a menu or QR code until my friends and I moved to the bar. The drinks are amazing! You won't find too many mixologist on this level in the dfw. They don't offer any food but there is a mescal bar close that serves great Mexican food or the pizza place ok the corner. The dress code is about the same just know if your wearing a ball cap turn it to the front. I came on a Wednesday so they are a bit more lax today then they would be on a weekend. You can't go wrong with any of the old fashions. I will say the cocktails are a bit on the sweeter side, if your prefer less sweet let ur bartender know.
