Came in at around 9pm on a Saturday and it was slow and quiet at first. By around 10/10:30 it became very lively! Their selection was impressive. The whiskey enthusiast I went with was thoroughly pleased. The staff were friendly and knowledgable. The vibe was that of a family business and the moody lighting combined with the r&b music and fireplace video looping you felt like you were in an auntie's house over the holidays. It was a lovely experience.
Lovely place to enjoy some soul vibes, ambiance is top tier. Black owned. Family feel. I've never had a bad experience and the bartenders are always friendly and accommodating.
My first time at whiskeys was amazing! Probably one of the best black owned businesses I've been to in the city! There's no food but I appreciated to personal mini charcuterie boards that was $14. The service was greattttt. Our server did shows when pouring drinks and was very attentive. The ambiance is grown and sexy, deff perfect for a date night, and the music was POPPING. I'm not sure how much each drink was but my total for the night with the board and 3 drinks was $96 so bring ya pocket book for sure.
What a gem to have stumbled upon while near the Fair Park area. Apparently I have been missing out....because all my friends knew about this place but me! It is a smaller space but perfect for a date or a low key night with friends, gave off speakeasy vibes. As a bourbon/whiskey girl, this is right up my alley. The service was great, the bartender made good drinks, and it was just an enjoyable place. I had the gingerbread old fashioned, which was delicious, I also tasted the toasted marshmallow one which was my favorite. My friends had the smoked old fashioned and said it was perfect! So no matter what you're looking for in a whiskey cocktail, you will find it here. Can't wait to add this to my list of bars to take friends who like bourbon/whiskey like myself.
I love whiskey, so by default I love this place. The esthetics was reminisent of a speakeasy. The dark decor with precision lighting, highlights the ethnic art and the vast array of whiskey on the shelves. The music was loud enough to enhance the mood along with the aromatic smell of incense. The space is cozy and intimate. Seating along the wall and at the bar was very limited, giving the space a luxurious and exculsive feel. We were seated at the bar, where we were immediately met with water and menus......If you know, you know.......The bartenders were very attentive and knowledgeable.........I had the Mitcher's flight......No food, just whiskey. We sipped and savored and enjoyed the moment. The perfect atmosphere for a drink, a first date or a night cap.
I like this spot a lot, it's very intimate, great playlist which set the vibes, and the service is amazing. I love a great craft cocktail with a story. I can't remember our server name but she has shoulder length locs, she has a great sense of humor and very much authentically herself. I had a drink with a long title. All I know it had Japanese whiskey and egg whites. And my friend had the 'Dallas' 75 which she loved.
Place is small but it's so cute. If you arrive too late, there will be a line to get in. My friends and I usually go around 5pm on Saturdays to make sure we can sit and relax. Whiskey heaven for sure. Nice service. Nice music on the speakers. Tasty drinks. I just wish they had some type of snack like popcorn or pretzels to accompany the the massive drink options.
We met at Whiskeys for our monthly couples date. The vibe of this place is very chill. Its dim lighting gives it a smooth, mellow, relaxing feel. It can also be labeled as romantic if that's what you're going for. The service was great and the staff was very knowledgeable. We met the owner who was very personable and engaging. We did a couple of flights and a couple of drinks. All were good. We read that this place was pricey, which I guess it can be. But I feel like it was in line with other bars we've been to. As a couple, we spent just under $200 pre-tip ($194 to be exact). The hubby was impressed so he left 28% for a tip. He /we enjoyed the pours, customer service,music, ambiance, and conversation. Definitely worth going back.
Wow! Just wow! I had my first visit to Whiskeys last night, and I am impressed! This place is such a vibe. This is a cocktail bar that specializes in fittingly whiskey and bourbon drinks. The bar staff is great and are all accommodating. You may have to wait about 10 minutes or so to get in but it's worth it. I hate lines. I'm allergic to lines, but my friend, the bouncer, and the couple in front of us in the line all told me that it's worth it! They were not wrong! The chocolate bourbontini is a great, creamy dessert drink, but the peace de resistance is the smoked old fashioned! It was amazing!!! Without a doubt, I'll be back. SOON!
Stumbled upon this place leaving a yelp elite event and idk how i haven't found this or heard of it before. It gave me whiskey speak easy vibes and they have some great cocktails available whether you're a whiskey/ bourbon connoisseur or not. The vibe is great for anyone of vibe whether on a date, solo or out with multiple friends. The bartenders were great and will make your cocktail how you like it , i.e if wanted one a little less sweet.
I highly recommend this business. It is unlike any other experience I have had at a bar. To start, let's get one thing clear: you come to whiskeys to drink whiskey. There isn't food outside of charcuterie boards, so eat before you come. When you get there, the bartenders are goddesses! They know everything that there is to know about whiskey. These alchemists are friendly and attentive. We were immediately served water and we were each able to find our perfect drinks. I had the Mitcher's flight, and my husband had the Old Fashioned. All of the drinks were special. The music only added to the unique and lovely ambience. This is the place you go to make your night a great night.
I thoroughly enjoyed my visit to this location. From the elegant decor, musical ambiance, the strictly enforced dress code, and simply just watching real mixologists work on their craft, this was definitely one of the better cocktail bar experiences I've had. They have a wide variety of creative whiskey inspired cocktails from bourbon margaritas to gingerbread old fashioned's with prices starting from $15 and up. I will say on popular nights like a Friday or Saturday you definitely want to get in a bit early as it isn't the largest location and gets packed fairly quick. The service was terrific, friendly and patient staff and I was given some great recommendations given that their whiskey options were so expansive. I highly recommend checking them out whenever you're in the area.

My fiancé drinks whiskey, I do not. Understood. I asked if they had vodka and was told yes. I ordered a vodka/soda. We were later informed (after my fiancé received his Makers Mark on the rocks) that they "were out of soda." Seriously. You are a whiskey bar "out of soda"? Wasn't on the tap? K. read more

Whiskeys is a whole vibe. Everyone was friendly from the doorman, the bartenders, and the fellow patrons. Definitely a sophisticated atmosphere. If you like whiskey and bourbon, this spot is for you. They have cocktails as well as flights. read more
When I heard that the owners of Sandaga were opening a whiskey bar I knew that I had to try it. We went during the soft opening for happy hour. When you first walk in it has a lounge like feel. There is a nice individual sitting area for those who do not like to sit at the bar. We ended up sitting closer to the door because we had a group of 4. Just so you know they do not serve food, but they do have a light fare. They allow you to bring in food from places around them. The entire menu is whiskey but with a twist to the classics. I had a whiskey margarita that was delicious. I also ordered the impeachment drink and that was amazing as well. I'm not a whiskey drinker normally but I absolutely love this place. LOVE THIS PLACE. This is my new go-to spot for drinks since I live in downtown dallas. The staff is great. You don't have to wait too long for drinks. The cocktails are amazing. You honestly can't go wrong with anything on the menu as there's a wide variety of whiskey cocktails and flights available. I really enjoyed the holiday menu this year. This place reminds me of a Brooklyn bar if you've ever been. The bar is decorated with Basquiat, whiskey bottles, and Edison lighting. The also have a great music taste that sets the vibe very nicely. There's a larger room in the back that I believe they will begin to reserve for larger parties. Right now it's first come first serve. If you're a whiskey person like me, please make sure to give this place a try. read more
Look for the W on the outside then come on in to a stylish trend-setting bar! It's a deep and dark setting to highlight all of the amazing whiskeys and bottles of alcohol on the wall! The highlighted bar has a golden glow that ensures every bottle pops! You can order a drink from smokey to fruity the whiskey cocktails are made with care by the mixologist/bartenders! If whiskey is not your thing, feel free to ask for a nice glass of wine or whatever suits you. Looking for an intimate setting, this is place! It's all bar and one long row against the wall for seating! They do have a TV for the games in the background at times! So come out to sip, laugh, and enjoy! Parking is on the street or corner lot! Super cute place for a drink. It's a true whiskey bar. Not sure how many different whiskeys they have on those shelves. I'm not a fan of whiskey, but the bartender made me this really nice drink that was called a whiskey margarita. It was really good, not that strong, put hair on your chest type drink you'd expect. So, there's definitely something for the beginner whiskey drinker. I did hear the owner say he planned to add cigars in the back. read more
This is definitely a grown and sexy place to go for amazing cocktails and great conversation. I can here with my friend and left with 2 more friends to add to my list. This place is small and intimate. No loud music, just good vibes and good drinks. I was impressed by the knowledge and serve of the staff. Although it's busy, the bartender always makes you feel like you are their number 1 customer. I warn you, come early, and take an Uber. The drinks pack a punch. This black owned whiskey bar is more than what I expected! Upon walking in, the ambiance sucked me in as I was greeted by the most hospitable bartender (I prefer to call her a mixologist) pictured. The music was at the perfect volume--not too loud so you can be sociable. This is a taste of what SoHo House gives. I HIGHLY recommend visiting while in the area for a meeting, date night, catch up with friends visiting in town, or just sit at the bar and make new friends. I think adding the playlist to streaming platforms would be great bc I'd love to keep the vibe going on the car ride home. Kudos to WHISKEY'S! I had a pleasurable experience. Thank you read more
The drinks, the vibe, the customer service... everything was top tier. I randomly found this place during a weekend trip to Dallas and returned the following evening because I enjoyed it so much. I recommend doing a whiskey flight and trying one (or all) of the old fashioned drinks. Will definitely be back when I revisit Dallas. read more

Whiskeys is my new favorite spot to go have a drink with friends. It's not very big on the inside so if you are going with a group be sure to arrive together. The earlier the better. The ambiance is A+. I've never had a bad experience with the service or my drink. Everyone is professional and courteous. The music is always on point. If you haven't been here it's a must you add it to the top of your bars to visit. Cheers! read more

This place was amazing. This staff is nice and attentive. The drinks are reasonably priced and are top notch. It's a whiskey lover's paradise. I would love for them to have a tasting there. Unfortunately, this place doesn't sell food or snacks so eat up before you get there. The only thing I would change is the presentation of the marshmallow old fashion. It was delicious but I wish they used a large marshmallow on the toothpick opposed to the little three ones. I think a camp sized marshmallow would look better. Shout out to Moriah for the effort of finding me one of their shirts. I will rep the establishment back in New York. read more

First off, don't walk past this place and think it's just a dive bar. It truly is one of the best whiskey bars I've ever been to. The ambiance is extraordinary! They have an incredible whiskey selection and a wonderful variety of whiskey cocktails. They happy hour menu is awesome and the prices are incredible. In fact, the non happy menu is extremely well priced. This place is the perfect place to pregame before a show at Dos Equis or grab a night cap. Don't sleep on this place at all! read more

Absolutely love this place - I've been several times and every visit leaves me with good vibes. First, if you're not looking for Whiskeys...you'll miss it, it's slightly off the corner but very dark, so if you're looking for red carpet and flashing lights - not it! Once you walk in the vibe is very intimate and chill. Literally, bring a jacket, it's a little chilly inside. The lighting is sexy and sultry...date night vibes, anyone? Once you find a seat (open seating, no reservations required) you can find the menu via QR codes located closely by every area. You're greeted by a hostess/waitress that guides you to sit where ever you'd like and to holler at her when you need her. So. I am not a Whiskey drinker...so I cannot, repeat, cannot speak to the robustness (is that a word) of their offerings. There's several brands listed on their menu but do I know if these are good ones? Absolutely not. BUT, here's what I do know. The TX Sour and the Dallas 75 knocked my socks off and won me over. The Dallas 75 is Woodford Reserve/Moet/Blood Orange/Honey Lemon/Asperol. BOMB. The TX Sour is TX Bourbon/Lemon Juice/Simple Syrup/Red Wine Float. BOOOOOMB. It's the red wine float for me. My date tried the Blackberry Bramble which he's gotten every time we've gone so I think that's a winner for him as well. There's several other cocktails available on the menu plus, yes, there are other liquors available as well - I've seen a few people post about a Casa Migos Roasted Pineapple Daquiri (I think that's what it was) that I might try (tequila is bae) eventually but I'm trying not to venture off. You can also indulge in a whiskey flights and charcuterie boards which are available on the menu...maybe one day I'll get that far, but for now...Dallas 75 or TX Sour me LOL! read more

I feel like I should have a microphone. I miss concerts. You remember before we were in a Pepperoni Pizza going to concerts and they introduce a headliner??? Dallas!! Dallas!!! I know you've been waiting for a spot to call your own. You missed Black Swan, You wipes a tear away when Absinthe shut down. You stop passing by the street where GLO use to be and need a bar to call your own! It's here! It's finally here. Whiskeys is right across the street from Fair Park. It's cozy and sexy vibe. It's unassuming on Exposition Ave. When I opened the heavy door the light pooled in and I heads turned because I interrupted the mood for a second. As I greeted friends I saw the astounding selection of whiskey. No matter how your palate lands...midrange or high-end there's your favorite on the bar. Thankfully, I was in time for happy hour. (Wed-Friday 5-7) The ambiance is the vibe we've been missing with mellow lounge music. You can sit and have a conversation. This is the perfect atmosphere for pre or post dinner drinks. If you want to see a true mixologist at work this is your place. As a previous resident mixologist at Hide you already know he's knows how to make you a drink. My only suggestion is to make sure you have a nibble of something before you go. These drinks will sneak up and have you trip on your feet. Don't ask me how I know . (I finished up with a lot of water.) The place is just sexy. I hope to see you there real soon. Pro-Tip: Have drinks and walk down to Sandaga to listen to some live music. read more

This is a hidden gem on the Southside! Whiskeys has a grown, classy vibe. The amber lighting, leather and burning candles makes this place a delicacy. Not to mention that it's black owned! I had the drink Impeach Me and it put me in a good spot for the rest of the evening. This isn't a place I would recommend with a large group (4ppl MAX). It's cozy inside is meant for a more intimate setting. I can't wait to go back. read more

Was looking for a whiskey only bar that had top shelf options. This place was unreal. Staff was friendly and the bartender was as personable/knowledgeable as it gets. Super hard combination to find in my opinion. They've got a plethora of unicorn bottles in there that most won't get to own in their lifetime. All reasonably priced as well. The vibe in there was next to none between the the darker lighting and music choice. Don't waste your time anywhere, Whiskeys is the spot! read more

Visited Whiskeys for a tasting class and it was a great experience. We were introduced to a new whiskey and sampled three different products by the selected maker. The instructors were informative and engaging. After the class we stayed and enjoyed some of there signature drinks. read more
Service, amazing. Drinks, delicious. Atmosphere, sexy! I highly recommend Whiskeys!! They aren't cheap, but it's worth it!! They have a great happy hour, however they fill up quickly. Everyone that works at Whiskeys was sooo friendly! Also they do not serve food, but you can walk to eateries around the corner.
