One of my favourite spots in Dallas for an upscale, romantic dinner or any special evening that gives you an excuse to dress up. The atmosphere feels elegant without being overly formal, making it a great choice for date night, celebrations, or a more memorable dinner out. The Georgie cocktail is always my go-to, and I recommend it to almost everyone I bring here. The bubble presentation makes it especially fun, and my friends always enjoy popping it before taking the first sip. The food is consistently well executed. They used to serve an incredible seared foie gras, although I don't believe it's currently on the menu. For a main course, I usually recommend choosing one of the meat dishes, such as the duck or steak, and pairing it with a glass of red wine. Highlights: Gaspar (server), venison tartare, desserts. Lowlights: large bone in the Ora king salmon dish, transparency in pricing on "fixing" my drink, being moved out of our seats for another party that had not yet arrived. Started off rocky as we were seated, then asked to move just as we began looking at the menu (because it was being save for someone else). We were then moved to a table right next to the restrooms even though only a few tables were even occupied. We promptly asked to be moved away from the restroom, resulting in 3 moves before we even got our water. A large bone was found in the Ora King Salmon dish which made for some discomfort as it stabbed the inside of one of the guests mouth. No real apology for that experience. Was told that if I didn't like my drink, I could get it replaced. Didn't enjoy it, but as a compromise asked for a small bit of rye to be added. Not realizing that it would result in the cost of another drink. 1 drink for the price of 2. The money wasn't the issue, it was just the lack of transparency. After the amazing service we've received at so many other places recently (Mamani, Maroma, Tatsu, Mister Charles) this was a lackluster experience. Our server, Gaspar, was a definite highlight. The venison tartare was absolutely fantastic. The desserts were amazing, and the decor was exceptional. My fiance and I visited Georgie after we had our engagement photoshoot in downtown Dallas late last year, and it was a great way to end our night while we were dressed up nice! We had a reservation and were seated immediately, though the restaurant was nowhere near full at that time. They started us out with a complimentary amuse-bouche which was some sort of jalapeno cheddar biscuit with a creamy filling - this was a delicious bite and left me wanting more! For our appetizers, we opted for the hamachi croque madame and the Anson Mills cornbread with shishito and cheddar. While we both really enjoyed the "surf and turf" vibe of the hamachi croque madame, the cornbread dish did get overly sweet the more we ate it. For our main entrees, we shared the jumbo crab cake and antelope tenderloin. The jumbo crab cake was quite good and had great texture. The antelope tenderloin was very unique (I've never had antelope before!) and the meat itself was tender and juicy; however, the pork jowl vinaigrette it came with was a bit too acidic for me though my fiance didn't mind it at all. read more

My best advice if you have a Valentine's reservation at Georgie is to cancel it now. We went on the Friday night of Valentine's weekend and intentionally booked that evening because there was no mention of a preset menu when we made the reservation. Upon arrival, we were told it was a $155 per person prix fixe. When I mentioned that this was not disclosed at booking, the server told us they had called to notify us. We checked our phones at the table. No calls. No voicemail. That lack of transparency set the tone. The math simply does not support the pricing. The duck breast entrée, typically $55 on their menu, arrived as two strips of meat. That was the entire entree. My first course, the bluefin tartare, is normally $29. Even generously accounting for dessert, you are nowhere near $155 in standard value. At that rate, the very tiny chocolate tart effectively cost somewhere in the $70-$80 range. It was barely larger than a Reese's cup. Was some of the food good? Yes. But nothing about it felt like a $155-per-person experience. Ironically, the most enjoyable bites of the evening were the crispy potato sticks that came with the steak and that miniature chocolate tart. When the highlights of a $500+ dinner are a garnish and a tiny dessert, that says enough. The drinks were $22.50 for a martini, and our total for two people ended up over $500. For comparison, Knox Bistro across the street offered a $115 Valentine's tasting menu with more generous portions and stronger overall value. We recently dined at Mamani, ordered more dishes, had more drinks, and spent less money for a genuinely elevated, 10 out of 10 experience. The difference was noticeable. Beyond the pricing, the atmosphere felt tense rather than romantic. The service seemed stressed instead of polished. Valentine's weekend should feel celebratory and seamless. This felt transactional. We were excited to return to Georgie, with the new chef. Instead, it felt like a holiday upcharge on smaller portions of existing menu items. I walked in expecting a romantic Valentine's dinner and walked out feeling like I had financed someone else's. For over $500, dinner should feel indulgent and memorable for the right reasons. Was such an amazing brunch! Sat outside so didn't get to take in quite as much of the ambiance per se, but it was in a very adorable area and we loved the surroundings. From what we saw inside, it was lovely and well decorated. The food and service were stellar. Started off with mimosas and they definitely were not stingy with the champagne! They asked us our preference for the ratio of juice which I always appreciate. We shared the seasonal scones and thought they were delicious and super unique. One of Lavender something and the other was a ham and cheese one. Definitely a big fan of the savory one! We also ordered a chocolate croissant to split which we all loved. I had the Sausage and Egg sandwich and was pleasantly surprised by the flavors and the portion size! A very large portion of meat as well as excellent seasoning in it. I added avocado on the side and thought it went nicely with it. Honorable mentions to the Breakfast Stratta and the Short Rib- although they weren't my entrees, I tried both and thought they were super delicious and would recommend either of them. Let me first start by saying we had reservations for 2 at 8:30, but ended up waiting about 20 minutes. While we understand that tables may take a while to clear up, we had to wait in a corner by the bar since the bar was completely full. The hostess also did not come to get us when our table was ready, we had to go up to her to check which prompted her to seat us. For a restaurant of this status, hospitality should be held just as high as the food quality. Now the ambiance of the restaurant is gorgeous, and our server was very kind and upbeat however after being seated at our table, he took a while to come back and place our order so from the time we got there and the time we placed our order it had already been about 45 minutes. I've been wanting to visit Georgie for a while and made it out on a Friday evening. We had reservations, but we ended up waiting over 20 minutes for our table. The table was cleaned and ready for us, but we stood there for a while unsure if it was ours or not. Unfortunately we were just overlooked, no one checked in with us during that time, and there was no apology for the delay, which was a bit frustrating. Granted, it was a busy night but that's expected on weekends so better organization in managing reservations and seating could definitely improve the overall experience. Once we were finally seated, the service was underwhelming. Our waiter didn't introduce himself and overall seemed a bit disengaged. The level of attentiveness and warmth wasn't what I had hoped for, especially given the reputation of the place. That said, the space is absolutely beautiful and the food was delicious. The Alaskan halibut was incredibly flavorful and the presentation of their dishes is top notch! I suggest adding sides to your entree since the main portions are on the smaller side and don't come with any sides. Very attentive staff for your every need. Ambiance - Warm and classy. Tables for two were very small but worked just fine. Food - Some were stand outs and some were interesting but not memorable. Bread and French butter infused with garlic - amazing. Took some home to go. Butter poached oysters - yum! Caviar didn't add much to it beyond looks. Butter sauce was perfect. But then again it's butter. Potato churros with onion sauce - memorable. Sauce was a stand out. Uni toast - Solid. Huge portion of Santa Barbara uni but it doesn't have the fresh ocean salinity as you'd find in uni when it's fresh. Maybe get one to try but no more. Cacio e Pepe - Dumpling style that was a bit too salty given the Parmesan stuffing. Duck confit sauce was Devine especially with the complimentary bread. Black truffle shavings had no aroma or flavor. Just looked pretty. Lobster and scallop "chowder" dish is delicate, light, and delicious. Won't fill you up if you didn't get a bunch of apps and pricey for only two scallops and one lobster claw at $58. Glad I tried it and enjoyed it but poor value. Cocktails - $35 for a cocktail should come with a song and dance. It was solid but not worth $35. The classic Georgie cocktail was good. High expectations I had when I first stepped into Georgie. No longer partnered with a celebrity chef; instead the kitchen has been magically transferred to the incredibly talented, The French Laundry in Napa alum, Chef RJ Yoakum. Mind blown dinners had! Fresh seasonal menus; fortunate I am with them keeping my two favorite starters, "Potato Churros"and "French Onion Consume", in tact so far. Gorgeous steaks are still being served; yet I have loved every bite of their "Tasmanian Ocean Trout" and "Dry-Aged Duck Breast"! Beautiful is the restaurant. I love sitting, sipping, and, nibbling at their bar on weekdays. I wasn't quite sure what to expect given the one star reviews that mentioned things like poor service or credit card surcharges, but still wanted to give Georgie a chance. In regard to service, perhaps we were lucky or the one-stars had an uncommon experience. I found the service to be perfect. Zero issues there. Interior is very nice but not stuffy; "business casual" did not feel out of place. The bread / butter was good. The hiramasa sashimi appetizer was small but tasty. My sturgeon entree would have been a very bland fish if not complemented by the delicious sauce. The maitake side was also to my liking. Lastly the "candy bar" dessert was a good way to end the night followed by a couple of complimentary sweets. In that a review less than one month old spoke of a 3% "credit card surcharge", annoying since it was not indicated anywhere on the online menu, I did come prepared with cash. FORTUNATELY, at least for us, the surcharge was not added. Maybe they've smartened up and stopped this practice which more often than not gets "self inflicted" one-star reviews when all else is fine. Cash discounts = fine. Credit card surcharges when noted on menu = annoying. Surcharges when not noted = unacceptable. Many places are going cashless. Raising menu prices 3% is less annoying. Whatever caused them to not add the surcharge to ours, combined with the fantastic service, raised them from a 4 to 5-star experience. Had high hopes for this restaurant as it is on the Michelin guide but we were unfortunately let down. Once we sat down, things started off great. A server assistant got us waters and our server came to get our drink order. Would have loved for him to explain a little about the concept of the restaurant or chef but that wasn't a huge deal. Of note, it was a little loud which made it difficult to hear some of his recommendations. We ended up ordering a la carte, we got some oysters, big mac, and the potato churros to start. The oysters and Big Mac were fantastic, but the churros initially came out slightly cold. They did bring us a new order which was hot, but ultimately the dish lacked flavor and even adding the caviar did not help. We also got a house salad to share, which was fine - not worth the $19 in my opinion. Moving on to our entrees.. we ended up waiting a while to get them and I feel there was some kind of mix up with our order because our server initially had recommended wine to pair with a dish we did not order.. anyways I got the halibut which was delightful. We had a group work dinner here a few weeks ago. I had heard so many good things about it so I was excited to try it! As soon as we walked in, the servers were really attentive. They guided us to one of the private rooms in the back, which was a nice, quiet setting. First of all, the bread and whipped lemon butter was AMAZING. I couldn't get enough, and it took a lot of willpower to stop myself from eating more. We shared a few things family style including the house made sausage, tuna tataki, both of which were just okay. I ordered the 10oz NY strip, which was perfectly cooked and flavorful. I wished that it came with a little more chimichurri just so I could get the fresh flavor with each bite. Thank you, Lindsay, for warning me and convincing me to cancel my Valentine's Day reservations. They called me after I made my reservation to inform me about the $155 preset menu, which I was initially fine with. However, after reading Lindsay's review about her Valentine's menu experience, I decided to do my own research. If I ordered the most expensive items on the preset menu individually, it would only total about $100 on the regular menu. That means for two people, we would have been spending an extra $110 for nothing--no special entertainment, no special service, and no upgraded food. The business actually saves money by offering a preset menu, yet they're charging customers more. The price gouging and manipulation tactics here are disgusting. read more

Having dined here a few times, I am a fan. It has quite the vibe, between the indoor ambiance and the sidewalk patio, it's almost as if one has escaped to another city for a dining experience. Each of my visits were via a reservation and I highly recommend doing that if coming on the weekend as it gets quite busy. I have dined during the week and while less busy, the same vibrant and energetic vibe exists. For each visit, the hostess has always been welcoming and almost immediately escorted me to my table. Shortly after being seated, my server stops by and asks if I want water and if yes, which type. After returning with the water, the server goes over the menu along with sharing any specials that might be available and then provides time to decide on an entrée selection. Having been here a few times, I have sampled several items and have yet to be disappointed. On my most recent visit, I went with the 8oz Rosewood Wagyu Coulotte entrée, and it did not disappoint. The steak was so tender and butter that a steak knife was not needed. Speaking of steak knives, one awesome touch here is that when ordering steak, the server comes to the table with a 'knife box' and you are allowed to choose your steak knife for the evening. Each knife is unique and different from the next one. In addition to being providing an awesome dining experience, Georgie's is also a great spot for adult beverages. They have full bar along with a great cocktail menu. Also, do not overlook their wine list as it contains some gems. Georgie was a delight. I visited on a quiet Tuesday evening, but their attention to detail might as well have been Xmas day. The relaxing art deco atmosphere was a precursor to a lovely meal. We watched the kitchen from the dining room as their chefs prepared each part of our dining experience. Our appetizer was a half dozen oysters, their lightly flavored shallot dipping sauce was perfection. For dinner my friend had the red snapper and I had the 10oz NY Strip steak. Both were nuanced, amazing and tasteful. Go early. Stay late. They have a cozy bar and friendly helpful wait staff. Note: During my visit the area nearby was under construction. Georgie's was an experience worth sharing. The lighting was dark, elegant, and romantic- the kind of atmosphere that makes you slow down and savor the moment. Every detail, from the service to the presentation, felt intentional and refined. We started with the Surf & Turf Croque Madame and a Mixed Greens Salad with lemon balsamic- both light, flavorful, and beautifully balanced. The Rosewood NY Ribeye was perfectly cooked and paired with a loaded baked potato topped with caviar, adding an unexpected touch of luxury to a classic. For drinks, the MangoNarita was bright and refreshing, while the Georgie was a true showstopper. Our server used a small machine tableside to create a delicate bubble filled with smoke that slowly expanded over the glass-an elegant and theatrical touch that made the presentation just as memorable as the flavor. I've been dying to try this place as so many people had recommended it and I finally got to try it with some work friends. Service was incredible! The staff was so welcoming and the servers were attentive always checking in to make sure we didn't need anything. We were seated in the private room in the back, which was beautiful and secluded from the rest of the restaurant. The food was delicious! I ordered the NY strip, which was cooked exactly how I wanted (I hate when my steak is overcooked!). We also shared some dishes and my personal favorites were the Brussel sprouts and tuna. I came here for brunch today and left very disappointed. For starters, the brunch menu is pretty light. Nothing stood out to me. I also expected a steakhouse to offer steak and eggs for brunch but they did not, which seems like a missed opportunity. We ordered three things and shared them: 1. The omelette - this wasn't good. It wasn't bad, but I didn't enjoy eating this at all. 2. Roast Beef - I've never had roast beef at brunch that aren't pre-sliced so to see this come out as a slab of meat was a bit jarring; the horseradish cream with it was good but nothing spectacular; I wouldn't order it again. 3. French Toast - this was by far the best of the three dishes; bread was toasty and lightly battered; the mascarpone cream sauce that accompanied it was delightful but too much of it left an odd aftertaste. We both had the mocktails and on its own, they were pretty bitter and not very good. However, our waitress was kind enough to bring out some simple syrup for us which turned our drinks around completely. I will say the service here is outstanding. Everyone was very nice and friendly. Our waitress was very attentive and helpful. Our food server even told us that he didn't like how our French toast came out so he asked them to make it again, which I thought was very honest and thoughtful. I wanted to love this place but sadly the brunch food wasn't what I thought it would be. We may come back and try dinner one day, which seems to be what they are known for anyways. read more

We had and orange raisin sweet scone with a lemon butter and the savory was a sausage and cheese with a chive butter amazing!!!!! Pork jowl was okay but still good! CHICKEN AND WAFFLES WAS TO DIE FOR WOWOWOWOWOWOWO!!!!! MUST TRY MUST TRY !
