Spicy vodka tortellini with chicken
Tay K.

This was our first meal in Texas after landing from LA and man it was great! I ordered the chicken Caesar salad and calamari while my friend ordered spicy vodka tortellini with chicken and mozzarella sticks. The mozz sticks were pretty standard, the marinara sauce that came with it was slightly on the sweeter side was delicious regardless. The calamari was FIRE!!! The batter was so crispy and the calamari meat was super tender, it was my friend's first time ever trying calamari and he LOVED it My chicken Caesar salad was super yummy and I ate it uppppp! The chicken was beautifully seasoned and cooked to perfection The spicy vodka tortellini was tasty as well, the spicy vodka sauce was sooo good??? I kept dipping my calamari in the sauce Service was ABOVE AND BEYOND PERFECTION. Our server was so quick and attentive. She brought refills for my friend's Diet Coke before he could even ask or say anything, same with my water She was so sweet and gorgeous! I wish I got her name :( Had a great first meal in Texas & so glad it was such a close walk from our hotel

Amazing restaurant with amazing food, ordered some pasta dishes, and they were so incredibly delicious. Very chewy and the sauce was flavorful, thick and filling. Really liked the flower on top of one of the dishes to add more pop and color to the pasta. The complementary bread was also very delicious and fluffy. We also told our server it was one of our friends, birthdays, and they were able to bring out a free dessert at the end. Service was great. The inside is very small and cozy with Lots of natural light in this restaurant and it's close to other great attractions in the city.

First of all the waiter was friendly, professional Brittany P. Thank you for the amazing service! Great place! We were seated as soon as we went in! Service was super quick. The ladies greeted us nicely and were patient with our orders. Food arrived quickly and it was delicious. The place was quiet and had good music.

FETTUCCINE ALFREDO, CHICKEN MARSALA

Stopped here late at night during our stay downtown! Employees were very friendly considering we came in an hour before close and there was barely anyone in there. Our waitress Olga was very sweet, always smiling and brightened our night! Her service was amazing. I have never had chicken Marsala, but I thought it was very tasty! My boyfriend got the fettuccine Alfredo and it was decent, nothing crazy. The only thing is that we did not receive any bread like other reviews showed... but other than that service was good and the environment was nice as well!

Someone described this place as a staple downtown, and I can agree. I ate here a few weeks ago and the food and service was great, so when I decided to change my original 50th birthday dinner plans to this location at the last minute for 13 guests, I took a chance on the experience and it was a true gift. It wasn't crowded, the place was clean and we were able to walk right in for our reservation. We had a wonderful experience. The timing of the food to table, the taste, and presentation was delicious and impressive! The menu items were reasonablly priced and the drinks were superb! Porta Di Roma saved the day for me and my guests as they welcomed us with attentive and personable service. It was a cherry on top for the chef to come and introduce himself- then gifted me a delicious tiramisu for my birthday! I will be frequenting this place moving forward as it's just a 2 block walk away. Thank you to the staff for being so accommodating and recognizing how a birthday is supposed to feel!

Mama Mia! Dined in here last night and the staff was extremely friendly. I've actually walked into this place before and walked out because I wasn't feeling it (yes I know, I was that annoying person). Anywho, this time I gave it a chance and boy did it impress. I did dirty things to the Ravioli al Vodka and I don't say this often... but you should too! Next up was the Spisy Pizza (spicy sausage?). Both were so good that I actually took them home with me, left them open on the table, and waited patiently until I could eat the rest. ONE THING - I will say I ordered a $60 bottle of wine that was supposed to be the nicer of wines... but it was no bueno. So I'd stick to the food. I don't even think that deserves a star off, that's how good the food was.

Excellent food and service. Owner is very nice

Spumoni ice cream! It looks divine and tasted amazing.... Just the right amount of dessert for two.

We visited for our anniversary and loved our dinner and experience. If you like garlic and…read morerosemary, order the bread and meatballs! It was the best focaccia bread I've ever had, even better than Italy I think... Very happy with the center cut steak, charred with good flavor yet still medium rare in the middle. Flavorful broccolini and polenta to compliment. The Cacio e Pepe was certainly the most peppery we have ever had compared to other spots. We still enjoyed it very much. Great attention and friendly service from the staff! they greet you about your birthday or anniversary, but no complimentary items (which is understandable considering majority of customers likely come here to celebrate) Additional Note: there is no happy hour from 6-9 at this location!

I had a pasta dish when I came a year ago and it was as good as just about any I've had, including in Italy. This latest visit, I had the New York strip and it was excellent. I am usually unimpressed with the steaks served at restaurants, but this was of a sufficiently high quality that I throughly enjoyed it. And while it was steak, the kitchen's skill was shown through the excellent sauce that accompanied it. The service was attentive, including the host staff who graciously moved us outside. I was quite pleased on that front. Ambiance/decor is fine. But the inside of the restaurant is loud. Like, really loud. If you're hard of hearing like my mother, it will be impossible to talk inside. And if you don't like practically yelling to communicate, it will be uncomfortable. There were also issues with their AC this visit so it was stuffy inside. These (hopefully one-off) issues notwithstanding, I would definitely go back to Il Bracco and probably will in the future.

Kenny's Italian Kitchen -- Exceptional in Every Aspect!…read more Perfect! Let Chef Kenny Bowers and his fabulous team take you on an epicurean journey through the wonderful flavors of Italy! From the moment we arrived, we knew we were in for something special. Our hostess, Valerie, warmly welcomed us and introduced us to a dining experience reminiscent of the Rat Pack era of the 1960s. The walls are covered from floor to ceiling with framed photographs of historic figures and local patrons. The classic red-and-white checkered tablecloths complete the nostalgic atmosphere. Our server, Jocelyn, was outstanding! Her descriptions of the menu were thoughtful, informative, and delivered with genuine care. We began with fresh bread accompanied by a tableside preparation of balsamic vinegar, extra virgin olive oil, and a light touch of pepper. So good! Our appetizers included calamari and a trio of bruschetta. Both were delicious! The house salad with Italian dressing was another excellent choice. For our main courses, we selected two combination plates. The first featured lasagna and shrimp scampi -- the best shrimp scampi in Dallas! The second featured lasagna and four-cheese ravioli with red sauce. Every bite was delicious! Adding to the experience was the wonderful background music, featuring Frank Sinatra and other legendary performers of the era. It was the perfect complement to the restaurant's old-school Italian charm. Throughout our meal, Jocelyn anticipated our every want and need. She is truly a professional who understands the art of providing stellar service. During our dinner, we were personally greeted by the manager, Cody Hancock. Here is a gentleman who knows his craft, understands how to build an exceptional team, and genuinely cares about making every guest's visit memorable. His personal attention, combined with Jocelyn's outstanding service, made us feel truly special. That kind of genuine hospitality is becoming increasingly rare, and it deserves recognition. I could go on, but suffice it to say that Kenny's Italian Kitchen is exceptional in every aspect -- food, atmosphere, service, and management! Chef Kenny Bowers and his entire team have created something truly special. I highly recommend that you come experience it for yourself. Make it soon! See you there!

It was a little too windy and hot for us, so we hurried downstairs to enjoy dinner afterwards. I'm sure the rooftop is much more comfortable during different weather conditions, and they can't control the weather, so don't let that deter you. The dining room was packed! What an absolutely fantastic Italian-American restaurant. I was pleasantly surprised by how great…read morethe pasta was. Started with the fried calamari and whipped ricotta with garlic bread. The whipped ricotta is an absolute must order and I'll definitely be getting that again. The calamari was good, but pretty standard fried calamari, although I loved the addition of the chilis. The portions are absolutely massive, so it's very easy to share dishes. I got the spaghetti and meatballs and they were an absolute delight. The meatballs were juicy, seasoned perfectly, and had a great texture. You can tell they're freshly made and use quality meat. Others at my table got the Chicken Parm Vodka and Tortellini Vodka, and both were rich, creamy, and delicious. The Chicken Parm portion was especially huge. The food here is a 10/10 and I'll be telling everyone to come here for some great Italian food. The restaurant itself is charming. The booths are huge and I loved all the photos and paintings on the walls. The Kingdom of Italy flag caught my eye too. Once the sun went down, the atmosphere really started to come alive. There are a few things I think Barsotti's could improve on. The bussers seemed a little underdressed for this type of restaurant, and some of their shirts were stained. We were also celebrating a birthday and specifically mentioned it in the reservation, so I was hoping for some acknowledgment. Our waiter was very nice and respectful, but I would have liked a little more interaction and explanation of the menu. Overall, the positives definitely outweigh the negatives. I'll be coming back and would recommend Barsotti's to others.
