With a party as big as ours, I went in with an open mind. The service was great, the food was delicious and the vibes were there. I had the lamb chops but tried a few items from a few others plates and I thoroughly enjoyed Nouveau. I will definitely be returning to try other menu items.

It's been awhile and I wanted some delicious mimosas. For brunch they always offer unique flavors. The tropical mimosa was AMAZING. It looked like a tequila sunrise. The food is still good, but they always want to forget my strawberries on my strawberry waffle. The chicken was piping hot and well seasoned. Now my bacon was overcooked and I could have sent it back. I like crispy, but NOT burnt. Luckily I was starving and it went well with my waffle. Next time though it's going back. Service was good no complaints. The staff is always friendly. The ambiance is still a fun vibe with great music. I have to knock off a star for the burnt bacon and missing strawberries. Also the booth was dirty and the cleaning needs some improvement. You just opened and it was full of hair and crumbs. This was disgusting and a slight turnoff. Overall a good visit and I left mostly satisfied and full.

A later Saturday night dinner here was a nice evening. It wasn't too crowded but vibe was good. The service was prompt and the server was knowledgeable. Also enjoyed the food, particularly the red beans and rice and jerk wings. Only wish the sides were a bit larger for the price.

We stumbled upon this place by accident but I'm happy we did. The service was really awesome and the food was seasoned and good. Our favorite dish was definitely the deviled eggs and they are probably the best of any restaurant in Dallas. They had a slightly sweet flavor, creamy, the fried chicken skins added a nice texture contrast, and the drizzle of hot honey really balanced everything out.

I meet friends for Sunday Funday at Nouveau Noir. Upon arriving, I saw many people outside entering and leaving the restaurant. It looked like one of the spots to be on Sunday. I arrived around 1pm. There was a nice crowd. The music and ambiance were nice. After arriving my friends got a really nice booth and our waitress was really nice and giving many suggestions on food a drinks. I decided to go with the denim and diamonds cocktail after our waitress suggested it. I didn't go wrong. The drink was strong and very tasty. I decided to get the fried chicken wings for my meal. I was glad they had a chicken option without waffles. The chicken was fried and seasoned well. I really enjoyed Nouveau and will definitely be back for happy hour or brunch.

My bestie and I left work early to kick off the weekend and decided to try a new spot on Beltline Rd and Nouveau Noir, did not disappoint! The fried green tomatoes and the deviled eggs were exceptional. Fried green tomatoes can be a hit or miss in Texas, but Nouveau Noir nailed the flavor and seasonings perfectly. For drinks, we went with a martini and a Tito's and tonic which were both solid, but I wouldn't have minded a stronger pour. lol ( just keeping it real) Overall, the vibe was great, the food was on point and I'll definitely return in the near future.

I came for the first time with family. The review of most is 3.5-4/5. The strawberry waffles were a good amongst the group. The sweet potato waffle was okay but this is depending on your preference( if you like nutmeg or all spice you'll like it). The chicken wings with the chicken and waffles were pretty good. The seafood grits was mostly grits and small portion of seafood; there was about 70 percent grits remaining in the meal. The DRINKS.... The Nouveau Noir was great in my opinion. The peach and sunset drink was good in my family opinion. OH we asked about the $25 bottomless mimosas, they no longer offer that. If you're having a celebratory birthday or anniversary you will have to pay for the dessert. The server, Ahsanii, was great! She was funny and very sociable.

This is a spot I can get use too! Everything is reasonably priced and the place is decorated nicely. The food we ordered was 9 out of 10. I feel like my potatoes could have been crunchy. And the whole fish could have been more seasoned. My fried green tomatoes were really good and hot! So know they just made them. The service was okay. I feel like we looked for our sever a lot.. but at the same time maybe she was trying to give us space.

I came here because my friend was DJing...it was a great time! I was actually really shocked at the good customer service and the great food. The chicken and sweet potato waffle was really good! The ambiance was grown and sexy. I would come back again

I will try this restaurant again. Upon arrival I checked in with the waiter and they forgot we were waiting to be seated for about 10 mins after we had confirmed reservations. Once I went back up there we were seated and the service was good. We had lamb chops. The flavor was great although it was a little too salty for me. I'll come back again and try something else on the menu.

We came here on a whim. A last-minute brunch decision. Nothing planned. No expectations. And what…read morefollowed was a core memory in three courses and a complimentary Bloody Mary shot accompanied by the cutest green olive. The moment we walked in, it felt like home, but not in the "kick off your shoes" way. No, this was the "you're safe here, baby" kind of home. The vibe? Cozy. Elevated. Like Restoration Hardware met someone emotionally stable. Elliott was our server and an absolute delight. Joseph was the manager, casually spreading joy like Oprah with a tray of Bloody Mary shots. Amber... now let me pause here, because this woman deserves a paragraph of her own. Amber isn't just a GM. She's the kind of soul you meet once and never forget. When I asked for her to come to our table just to pay her a compliment, we both practically teared up. She received it with open arms, no ego, no deflection, just pure, gracious presence. I was mid-sentence and suddenly I had that Creed song stuck in my head. You know the one. "With arms wide open..." That's the kind of energy she brought to the entire restaurant. Amber made every person in that room feel like they mattered. Not because it's her job, but because it's who she is. She's fresh off earning her master's in hospitality, and if that degree came with a crown, she's wearing it. The Porch doesn't just run smoothly. It runs on Amber energy. But let's talk about the moment I saw God. Cornbread Eggs Benedict: Not crab. Not salmon. Corn. Bread. And not just any cornbread. The softest, fluffiest, most cuttable cloud of golden glory I've ever had the pleasure of annihilating with a fork. A fork, not a steak knife. Do you understand how rare that is? Normally I'm out here sawing through an English muffin like I'm in a lumberjack competition. This? Melted like butter. Tasted like a hug. 12/10. Incredible. And then, as if the eggs benny enlightenment wasn't enough, Joseph reappears with a tray of free Bloody Mary shots for the entire restaurant. With olives. For everyone. The joy? Immediate. The energy? Electric. The crowd? Unified. I watched a grandmother at the next table raise her glass like the queen she is. I nearly cried. This wasn't service. This was a masterclass in human connection. Restaurants can be transactional. Robotic. This was the opposite. This was care, intention, soul. My high school principal once said: "The difference between ordinary and extraordinary is that little bit of extra." The Porch brought extra, bagged it, garnished it, and served it on a tray. Final thought: If you're not brunching here, I'm concerned. If you are? I'll raise my Bloody Mary shot to you. And Amber, if you ever run for mayor, you've already got my vote. I'll run your campaign and show up in a custom t-shirt.

At first, I was a little hesitant because the menu is fairly small, but after my meal, I can see why. Every dish we ordered was absolutely a 10/10. I had the chicken with greens and shrimp fried rice, along with the fried green tomatoes and cornbread. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and perfectly prepared. I honestly don't have a single negative thing to say about either the food or the service. This was an amazing dining experience, and I will definitely be back. Highly recommend!

I do want to start with the positives. Our waiter was fantastic. He was very attentive, explained the menu thoroughly, and provided excellent service. The food also came out incredibly fast and piping hot, which is becoming rare these days. We started with the cornbread, and it was easily a 10/10. It was worth every bit of the $12. We ordered the fried chicken, greens, shrimp fried rice, biscuits, and hot water cornbread. The fried chicken was crispy and tender, but it lacked seasoning. I'd give it a 7/10. They served it with a house hot sauce, but surprisingly it had no heat and almost no flavor. I even asked the person I was dining with if they tasted anything because it was like pouring sauce on the chicken without changing the flavor at all. The greens were just okay on their own, but once we added the vinegar they became amazing. That made me wonder why the vinegar isn't incorporated into the greens from the start. The hot water cornbread had virtually no flavor. The shrimp fried rice was cooked really well, but it had an unexpected Caribbean-style seasoning that threw me off. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't what I was expecting, and it made it hard to fully enjoy. The biscuits were probably the biggest disappointment. They were dry and hard. One thing I also noticed is that, for a family style restaurant where you're encouraged to order several dishes to share, the tables feel too small. Once all the food arrived, there wasn't much room left, and even packing up our leftovers was awkward because of the lack of space. One standout that deserves recognition was the iced tea. It had what tasted like a subtle hint of mint and was incredibly refreshing. Easy 10/10. From the cuts of chicken we received, it appears they break down and fry whole chickens, which is perfectly fine. However, at $56 for a fried chicken that lacked seasoning, I found the price hard to justify. Maybe the cooking method or oil contributes to the cost, but I expected much more flavor for that price. Overall, I'd rate my experience a 7.5/10. Would I come back? Yes. I'd be willing to give Roots another chance and try something different from the menu. But when I hear Southern food, I expect bold seasoning and comforting flavors, and that's the one area where this meal really fell short.
