Spanish Omelette and Country Scarmble with side of bacon
    Kimberlin G.

Extremely fast and friendly service! We got the Spanish omelette (spicy and flavorful) and then the biscuit scramble (both the biscuits and eggs were fluffy with a generous amount of gravy). Their bacon is crispy to our liking! Solid pricing and cozy, comfortable ambiance for breakfast.

Five-Star Review for Pete's If you're looking for the kind of breakfast spot that feels like a warm hug in diner form, Pete's is the place. The vibe is pure Americana comfort--vinyl booths, sunlight pouring through wide front windows, and a low hum of friendly chatter that never gets too loud. It's like stepping into your favorite childhood memory of breakfast... only better, because now you can appreciate the perfect balance of crisp bacon and bottomless coffee. The food is exactly what you hope for at a place like this: eggs done right every time, pancakes the size of hubcaps, and hashbrowns with that golden crust that says someone back there cares. You can taste the intention in every bite. And let's talk condiments: they just flow. There's no hoarding ketchup packets or awkwardly flagging someone down for hot sauce. Everything you need is already on the table, replenished by staff who move like breakfast ninjas--there when you need them, invisible when you don't. Yes, the average patron age is probably somewhere north of 70, and honestly? That's the secret sauce. The geriatrics have wisdom, and they know a good breakfast better than anyone. If Pete's has earned their loyalty, you know it's the real deal. Go for the food, stay for the community, and leave wondering why you ever ate breakfast anywhere else.

Pete's Cafe is a wonderful establishment. It's family owned and run and you can tell. Everyone there seems to enjoy what they do and care about their guests. Upon arriving, the parking lot was full and I thought sure I would never find a spot, but after driving around the building a few times, I was able to park right out front. With the parking lot that full I thought sure the wait for a table would be crazy. Boy was I wrong. There was only one party in front of me and I was seated at a booth in around 5 minutes. I had the western omelet with hash browns an English muffin and a side of grits. The omelette was chock full of fresh ingredients. The hash browns were like a hybrid of home fries and hash browns which was a huge plus in my book. They came mixed with onions and were quite tasty. Their coffee was hot and fresh and they were super quick with the refills. Overall it was a great experience and I will be adding Pete's to my weekend breakfast rotation. I highly recommend this family owned hole-in-the-wall for great food and service.

    Corned beef hash

Best breakfast I've had in awhile. Got corned beef hash. Corned beef hash is always a nostalgic meal for me. Grandpa always cooked it, eggs, and grits and would put it in a cup before "breakfast in a cup" was a thing. The cinnamon roll was good and fresh. The waffles were big! Homey style diner. Very busy. Would be back.

    Pete's Special with French Toast

I stumbled upon Pete's Cafe while searching for the best hash browns, and I have to say, they did not disappoint! Most places tend to serve diced potatoes with onions for hash browns, but not here. Pete's serves up perfectly cooked and seasoned hash browns that hit the spot. I also tried the French toast, and it was a pleasant surprise. Instead of the overhyped brioche you find everywhere, Pete's sticks to the classic Texas toast, cooked just right. No dryness or overly thick slices, just traditional French toast done perfectly. This place gives off a cozy small-diner vibe, which I absolutely loved. They only serve breakfast and lunch (7am-2pm), but I've heard their cinnamon rolls on weekends are a must-try! I'll definitely be back to check those out. If you're looking for great comfort food, with fast & friendly service....Pete's Cafe is a gem! (Hope this review finally gets me to Elite Status. Seems like it's harder to get that than winning the lottery)

Chicken fried steak (asked for gravy on the side)
    Amy W.

This place is my kinda old school breakfast vibe!! Tucked away in an industrial park, it was packed but running smoothly on a Sunday around 11am. The line was ling, but we scored a window booth after only about 10 mins of waiting. We were here for the chicken fried steak which had been on some list for one of the best win Dallas. We chose to split the breakfast version with eggs, toast and hash browns. (There is also a lunch version that comes with more lunch sides like veggies). We chose raisin toast, over easy eggs and hash browns (crispy) - also a side of bacon for good measure. ALSO important to get your chicken fried steak gravy ON THE SIDE (so as not to mess with the "crispy"). The steak was good, the coating was exactly what I like, all scraggly and crispy, I would have liked a thicker portion of steak though. The food came out after a bit - everything was exactly as ordered. We were checked on to make sure we had coffee and water etc. Our waitress Meghan was very sweet and efficient, and we thought she did an excellent job. (The kid who helped to manage the line and seat people was also great with a happy helpful attitude.) You do get a bit of a break on the bill if you pay with Ca$h - so I would do that!

Delicious! I always love a hole in the wall and Pete's fits the bill! Ginormous cups of soda, hot coffee and generous portions! The chicken and waffles with bacon.....never had any better.

Very good food and very good prices. I was amazed by the portion sizes and how inexpensive everything was. The servers were really great, friendly and informative. The only aspect of the place that is a drawback is that it is really dated. A great breakfast place doesn't need to look like it was remodeled by Chip and Joanna but it shouldn't like a place where the Pulp Fiction guys will walk in after "cleaning the car". Still a solid breakfast joint worth visiting!

The food here is very good and filling. I really enjoyed the casual ambiance of a local breakfast restaurant. Everything was really clean and well put together. The staff was fantastic and I never had an empty cup of coffee.

Today I wanted to do a solo breakfast and I want to trust. My other yelp review wears and therefore I went to Pete's Café. This was a great experience. Marvelous customer service marvelous time wait on the food food was fresh it was tasty. The coffee was amazing. It was a good price point and it was a family environment. This is one of those places you you go to when you just won a good down-home me meal for a good price. None of the extras. None of the fluff just good food good service good price family environment. I will definitely be back because I enjoyed my time. I enjoyed the service! My server was Jose and I loved him. He did a great job. He checked up on me, made sure that I always had coffee and it was hot. Amazing.

Ask the Community - Pete's Cafe

Do they offer real maple syrup, not the kind in the grocery store but the syrup that is authentic from New England , it's what they add to the grocery store processed syrup to make it?

Its maple, not sure about the kind you want, but its warm and pretty good on my waffles and pancakes. I actually love it

This place is truly something special, from the gracious hospitality to the incredible menu. The menu delivers elevated Southern comfort food that somehow manages to feel both nostalgic and fresh at the same time. I've worked my way through almost the entire menu over multiple visits, and I can honestly say that everything is incredible. Every time I take someone new there, I tell them that there hasn't been one dish that I've ever thought "meh" about. Every dish is so flavorful and outstanding. That said, I absolutely have my go-to order: the cornbread (a must), the southern greens, and the fried chicken. The cornbread is almost like a melt in your mouth dessert, that I happily start every visit with. The greens are packed with rich, savory flavor, and I'm not kidding when I say that every time I have them, I literally dream about them for weeks after. And the duck fat fried chicken? Crispy, juicy, and hands-down some of the best I've ever had. Beyond the food, the whole experience just feels thoughtful, from the quality of ingredients to the execution of every dish. You can tell there's real intention behind everything coming out of the kitchen. If you're anywhere near Farmers Branch, this spot is worth going out of your way for. And if it's your first visit--trust me, get the cornbread, southern greens, and fried chicken. You'll be dreaming about it later.

My Overall Rating - 5 Stars (Atmosphere, Service, Food, Return) Atmosphere - Tupelo Honey is a stand-alone restaurant conveniently located near Hwy 114 and 161. There's plenty of parking, outdoor seating, and a mixture of tables, booths, and bar seating. Speaking of the bar, it acts as a beautiful backdrop for the entire restaurant. 1 Star. Service - The service is always friendly. Our server is always smiling, and I can't help but feel welcome with southern charm. Tupelo Honey trains its staff well, and I really enjoy coming here and interacting with the staff. 1 Star. Food - I always begin with the Biscuits with a Cause. These light, flakey biscuits are served warm with a crispy exterior and soft, flakey inside. But honestly, the biscuits act as a delivery mechanism for the butter and blue berry jam. I always ask for an extra side of butter and jam because I use it all. On my most recent visit, I ordered the Honey Dusted Fried Chicken (dark). The chicken was perfectly fried, crispy, and sweet. And the dark meat was juicy. Pro Tips - use your hands. Another great dish was experienced. 2 Stars. Will I Return? - Yes. I have yet to have a below average dish at Tupelo Honey. Yes, it's a chain. But it's also a darn good chain that keeps its menu fresh and is worth multiple visits. 1 Star.
