The food was pretty good! Went for a corporate dinner and they handled the big group pretty well. Loved that the server and chef refused to bring us out the fried pickles when they couldn't get batter to stick and only brought them out when they were perfect! Now THATS service. They also had great recs when some of my coworkers were indecisive

Amazing service and delicious food. I can't wait to come back. 10 out of 10. The environment is so pleasant and cute decor. Nice music too. Definitely adding this place to my favorite.

Have been to Tupelo a few times and try something new on the menu each time. Everything is delicious! Love that they have a seasonal menu as well as seasonal drinks. Extra bonus for being dog friendly on their patio with plenty seating inside and out. Service is always great and all servers are very attentive.

Warm and welcoming staff! Michael's service today was excellent, mindful and courteous check-ins. We ordered the half chicken which probably explains the longer than usual wait for food to arrive. It was definitely savory spicy and tasty but it did arrive lukewarm as did the soup on his plate, our neighboring guests arrived much later than us, received their meals and finished before we even got ours on the table...so not sure what happened there with orders coming out of the kitchen. The omelet was perfect...beautiful fresh vegetables inside a pocket of hot scramble, with the Parmesan potatoes I chose for the side, it was delicious. Will gladly come back for something new to try

This is my first time going to the Irving location and it was the perfect spot for a group lunch! We got biscuits, fried green tomatoes and a half order of fried chicken as starters. The biscuits hit the spot and the jam and butter that it comes with is so delicious, no notes!! For our meal, my entire table got the flat iron steak and it comes with two sides. I got a soup and a salad but you can choose from Mac and cheese, other standard southern comfort sides. They also had a full bar great beer menu and even had coffee options. The blueberry cold brew was so good I would come back just for that cold brew. The food hit the spot, especially if you're craving some comfort food.

Met at Tupelo Honey with a couple of friends for lunch. The food was great! I only managed to get a picture of the fried okra, but I also ordered the fried green tomatoes and the half sandwich lunch special with tomato soup, with a sweet tea to drink. All really delicious! There are lots of great options on the menu for both food and drinks. I have been to both locations by this point, and it was consistently good. I'll be eager to go back and order different items to try!

I went here with a friend for lunch and we had a wonderful experience. The restaurant is decorated in very good taste. We had great service. I got the chicken sandwich with onion rings and I have no complaints at all. I also believe it was a very good price point. I would definitely come back again!

Stopped here for a late brunch. No wait and not completely full on a Sunday late morning. The service was pretty slow. It seemed like the staff was crawling at a snails pace. We finally got an order in and started with the fried green tomatoes. They were pretty good and liked the super crispy outside. I had the shrimp and grits and it was good but so rich. I could only eat half of it. That seemed to the theme for our brunch. The food was very rich and hard to eat it all. The taste was good but whatever they used in the dishes was extremely rich. Ok good but probably won't come back.

FANTASTIC HAPPY HOUR SELECTION AND PRICES ! Happy hour here for the win, seriously! I had been to a Yelp event at this spot before, but my husband and I are always on the hunt for solid and affordable happy hour deals. This place was absolutely worth checking out. They offer a great selection of happy hour appetizers, but the real surprise was their happy hour entrées for just $12.95. There were about 10-12 options, and each comes with a side (about 7 choices). Score. We started with the fried green tomatoes, served on a creamy grit-meets-risotto base that was unexpectedly exceptional. Then we shared the happy hour entrée of cast iron pork with a side of Asian-style Brussels sprouts. To be fair, the sprouts would probably shine more in the winter when they're smaller and sweeter, but the pork was fantastic. Crispy and juicy bites all around. A couple of warm tortillas on the side would make that dish even better. We will definitely be back. The cocktails during happy hour are a steal at just $5 each. Great food, great value, and a great vibe.

My husband and I met up with some friends at Tupelo Honey! I've actually heard a lot of good things about this restaurant from my FIL and colleagues in NC! I forgot we had one so close to us here in DFW! Ambiance: Beautiful interiors! Very spacious, bright, and welcoming! Service: Friendly service, but wasn't all that quick. The food makes up for this! Food: if you love southern cuisine, Tupelo Honey is the place to try! Appetizer- Fried Pickles. The fried pickles thinly sliced and are lightly battered. Very different from what you get at a State/County fair. I love the tanginess of the pickles! Entree- I ordered their fried chicken with a side of goat cheese grits (the meal comes with 1 choice of sides). The fried chicken (ordered dark meat) was plenty of good! It had 2 pieces of meaty chicken, seasoned to perfection! Very flavorful and very juicy. The goat cheese grits were smooth and homey. Drink- Matcha honey latte was great!

The biscuits are SO GOOD, our favorite spread was the peach butter. Had a variety of food and chicken, 8/10. The Brussels were good but quite salty! Then dessert was the next winner. Got all 3 and our favorite was the mud pie!

It's was a wonderful Sunday Morning and we decided to enjoy a delicious meal at Tupelo Honey. I was we entered we stood for about 10 minutes before the staff acknowledged us. I had eye contact and everything. No worries though as patience is a virtue right lol. The atmosphere is bright and vibrant welcoming to the eye and calming our kind of place. Overall the amazing customer service from Michael made up for the delay.

Excellent spot very good comfort food and ambiance. The fried chicken is a must! The mac n cheese has a distinct taste I wonder what that secret spice is.

I do want to start with the positives. Our waiter was fantastic. He was very attentive, explained the menu thoroughly, and provided excellent service. The food also came out incredibly fast and piping hot, which is becoming rare these days. We started with the cornbread, and it was easily a 10/10. It was worth every bit of the $12. We ordered the fried chicken, greens, shrimp fried rice, biscuits, and hot water cornbread. The fried chicken was crispy and tender, but it lacked seasoning. I'd give it a 7/10. They served it with a house hot sauce, but surprisingly it had no heat and almost no flavor. I even asked the person I was dining with if they tasted anything because it was like pouring sauce on the chicken without changing the flavor at all. The greens were just okay on their own, but once we added the vinegar they became amazing. That made me wonder why the vinegar isn't incorporated into the greens from the start. The hot water cornbread had virtually no flavor. The shrimp fried rice was cooked really well, but it had an unexpected Caribbean-style seasoning that threw me off. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't what I was expecting, and it made it hard to fully enjoy. The biscuits were probably the biggest disappointment. They were dry and hard. One thing I also noticed is that, for a family style restaurant where you're encouraged to order several dishes to share, the tables feel too small. Once all the food arrived, there wasn't much room left, and even packing up our leftovers was awkward because of the lack of space. One standout that deserves recognition was the iced tea. It had what tasted like a subtle hint of mint and was incredibly refreshing. Easy 10/10. From the cuts of chicken we received, it appears they break down and fry whole chickens, which is perfectly fine. However, at $56 for a fried chicken that lacked seasoning, I found the price hard to justify. Maybe the cooking method or oil contributes to the cost, but I expected much more flavor for that price. Overall, I'd rate my experience a 7.5/10. Would I come back? Yes. I'd be willing to give Roots another chance and try something different from the menu. But when I hear Southern food, I expect bold seasoning and comforting flavors, and that's the one area where this meal really fell short.

For sides, I chose the mac and cheese, cornbread, tallow fries, and Brussels sprouts. This is the kind of meal you remember for a while. The Wagyu tomahawk ribeye was the star of the table. Tender, flavorful, and packed with that rich beefy taste you'd expect from a steak of that caliber. The garlic stuffed filet was incredibly tender and added another layer of flavor, while the New York strip had a great texture and a perfect mesquite grilled finish. The Gulf shrimp were cooked well and added a nice contrast to all the steak. Smoky, juicy, and full of flavor. The sides were excellent across the board. The mac and cheese was creamy and rich, the cornbread was warm and comforting, the tallow fries were crispy and addictive, and the Brussels sprouts provided a nice balance to the feast. The restaurant itself has a true Texas atmosphere with a rustic upscale feel. Service was attentive, knowledgeable, and made the whole experience feel special. This wasn't just dinner. It felt like a Texas steakhouse experience from start to finish. Definitely one of the most memorable meals I've had in the Dallas area.

Clearly a popular spot. We shared an appetizer, a steak, sides, and a dessert between us 3. - Fried Tomatoes (appetizer): not bad! Light, not greasy at all, and that savory sauce on top was yummy: - Wagyu Tomahawk: the star of the show. Loved the peppered crust which was full of flavor. Not a true "Japanese wagyu" texture, but still an excellent steak overall. - Sides (mashed potatoes, fries, broccolini, cornbread): All pretty good across the board. I liked the cornbread the most and wished there was more of it. Usually a side of cornbread is much more substantial and comes with honey butter. - Steak sauce: we ask for a side of this. Whatever they had was unique and great. Fruity and tangy, a great complement to the tomahawk. - Pecan Pie: look at the photo! A huge, tall slice. No notes. Loved the dense ice cream on top. Perfect way to end the meal. Overall: no critiques, just an all-around great dinner. Definitely recommend the tomahawk and pie.
