It's a chain. There's something about a chain restaurant that's polished and well fabricated. Something about it feels like a lab diamond. It's sparkly, but not intimate. It just feels very manufactured. The menu is varied. If you've read my reviews before, you know that I'm a Texa-fornian, so there are a lot of places in Texas that don't suit my palate (or my waist line.) I was easily able to find a couple of things that I would have enjoyed. Based solely on the calorie count, I picked the salmon with cauliflower rice. It was a little oily, but it was good. I cleaned the plate. It's dark inside, like a steakhouse. Not for me, but if that's your thing, you would be happy. It's clean the food's fresh and if you're a drinker, there is a lot of beer. I've been to yard house over a hundred times in my life! N sadly I've never been during happy hour very foolish of me. I believe the time is 3-6! There are several appetizers that are half off including wings and pizza. Where can you get a $8 pizza with pepperoni sausage and bacon, and drinks from 8-12! This is now one of my two favorite happy hours! You can get pretty much any flavor you want margarita with no up charge like most places!!! The bartender did his thing it was bomb!!! Yard House was awesome!! I came here on a Tuesday afternoon for lunch and truly enjoyed the entire experience. When you first walk in, the atmosphere is a little bit darker but also intimate. It wasn't too busy yet because it was a little after the normal rush time hour, and it also wasn't too loud yet. However I could see that it could get really busy and because of that There was a large selection of drinks and the menu had such a unique variety of food it was insane! I also loved that they do smoked drinks! I got a whiskey on the rocks and they put it in the little smoke box to infuse it--was SO good. For my meal I got a specialty salad that had grilled chicken, egg, sweet potatoes, avocado and a homemade balsamic vinegarette that I got on the side. It was very filling and very good. I had a fantastic meal at Yard House, I think mostly because of the service. It was sort of later on a weeknight, and the place was somewhat dark, but the bar was big, empty, and I grabbed a seat while on the road for business. The bartender was super swift, attentive, and ok, so there weren't a lot of people but he called each and every one of us by name. He read the name on the credit card and remembered. That's a talent in and of itself. I had a spicy margarita, which was not as spicy as it could have been (but you have to cater to the masses, amirite), but the flavor was perfect. I also had a burger with fries, which is hard to mess up and also really hard to get right. It didn't look like a lot, but was more than enough. I'm used to an overflowing plate, but it was sort of nice to see everything just perfectly proportioned and in its own place. I ordered the Orange Chicken, and I can honestly say it was the BEST orange chicken I've ever had--perfectly cooked and full of flavor. My husband had the Spicy Jambalaya, and he enjoyed every bite as well. For a busy Friday night, we were pleasantly surprised to be seated in less than 30 minutes, and the service throughout our meal was excellent--friendly, attentive, and efficient. My little sister with BBBS and I dined here for lunch on Sunday, 12/21. The food was SCRUMPTIOUS!!! We had fried calamari and chicken wings for appetizers. She had the 3 Taco Combo with Spicy Rice (opted not to get the beans). I had the Grilled Cheese Sandwich with a bowl of Tomato Bisque. I topped off the meal with an Oreo Brookie. The drinks were the star for me. The lemon drop was well balanced with alcohol and lemon. Both appetizers were good and I would order again. My husband wasn't a fan of the veggies that came with the salmon but he loved the salmon and glaze with the potatoes and our server replaced the broccoli and carrots with macaroni and cheese and he was satisfied. WARNING. Happy Hour appetizers- NOT all apps included in HH pricing. So we went for happy hour, excited about the discounted appetizers and drinks. At first glance, it looks like all the appetizers are included. But here's the catch: if you flip over to the regular menu to actually read what the appetizers are, they don't tell you which ones are not part of the deal. Surprise! Not everything on that list gets the happy hour discount, and your server probably won't give you a heads-up either. There are about five rogue items that sneak through at full price. The ones I remember are the shiitake noodles, edamame, onion rings, and shrimp. There might be more, but those were the heartbreakers. We happily sipped our discounted cocktails, feeling victorious, until we got home and realized the noodles had tagged along at full price. Plot twist. That said, the cheese curds were included and absolutely delicious. And my martini? Flawless. It had those magical little ice crystals floating on top like it had just been blessed by the cocktail gods. Our queso read deliciously and we went ahead to add the ground beef for an extra charge of course. It was overly greasy and it seemed like the differing cheese didn't mix as well together as I would have hoped. As for my chicken tortilla soup which by now is a staple in my life came out as a creamy chicken noodle soup flavored dish. I was so thrown off I didn't even finish or take the leftovers. My partner ordered the Korean BBQ tacos which were very good, best dish out of all 3 we chose. It's been a couple of weeks since we "discovered" this place. The food was off the charts good. We ate and ate.... The service was ok, not great. I think our waitress must have been towards the end of her shift and just didn't have much energy. The place was clean, the restroom was spotless - overall just a nice place to relax (no, not in the restroom). I have been to many locations and this one by a long shot is the best! Between the location (even the layout in the restaurant was super cool I loved how u could see in the kitchen as well), the service, and the food, everything was a 10/10. There wasn't a single thing that didn't taste good that we got. And everything was cooked perfectly. The portions are quite big but perfect for sharing! Everything came out of the kitchen fairly quick as well. And any time I had an empty glass the server was quick to refill it without even asking which was great because the rice and sandwich had a little kick to it. Haven't been to Yard House in so long, but we were in the area and a visit was long overdue. We happened to be around during happy hour, so we got to take advantage of their happy hour deals! We ordered the fried chicken tenders, sesame crusted ahi tuna, truffled mushroom pizza, ahi poke nachos, and the sliders, all which are 50% off during happy hour. What a deal! We also ordered the shiitake garlic noodles which are BOMB! Everything we ordered was really tasty, but my personal favorites were the ahi poke nachos and the shiitake garlic noodles. The nachos have a generous amount of ahi tuna on them and are perfect for sharing. The shiitake garlic noodles are buttery, garlicky, and so addicting! Stopped in on a Friday evening for drinks and food. The ambiance was much more lively than a previous visit. This is such a perfect space to catch a game. Service was impeccable. Our server, Tasia, was the sweetest. Bubbly, helpful personality and she made sure to check on us several times throughout. They ran out of jasmine rice (they were willing to cook more, but it would've been an additional 30 mins) to accompany a part of our meal, the manager came out personally to inform us, extend her apologies and offer recommendations. Once our food arrived, Tasia stopped by to thank us for being so understanding and also to inform us that the manager would like to comp a dessert or appetizer, such a sweet gesture, especially when unprompted. We had the Gardein orange chicken and the sweet and spicy shrimp noodles and the Gardein wings appetizer (buffalo and barbeque). All were amazing! This was my first time at any Yard House. It was about five minutes from the hotel. The beer selection looked substantial and did not disappoint. I eventually decided on Fish and Chips and a house salad. I added a side of ranch to drizzle on top of the house salad. I liked the house dressing, but I also like combining dressings from time to time. The beer battered fish was great with good flavor and crisp bite. The jalapeño tartar sauce was subtle with a little bite. I really like the searchable menus they had on the table ESPECIALLY for beer selection. The dining room surrounds the long bar with plenty of taps. There were plenty of booths around the perimeter of the dining room. Visited this location after a concert at Toyota Music Factory. The hostess was really polite and quickly seated us. Deyja(sp?) was our server and seemed as though she'd rather be anywhere but there. She asnt rude but just seemed disinterested but did answer questions asked. I ordered a pink dragon and 10 pc wing with lemon pepper and Korean wings and Parmesan fries. Service is where it was lacking a bit, not sure if our server was overwhelmed or what, but she was not present or checking on our table as often as needed. You should know that Yard House has a more impressive "gluten sensitive" menu than what my order conveyed.. I just had a cup of tomato bisque and a house salad with bleu cheese dressing. Kind of boring yes, but delicious. The soup was velvety, hot, and made with super sweet tomatoes, it was perfect with extra pepper. The salad had plenty of shredded cheddar cheese, but not enough cherry tomatoes or spring mix. It seemed the spring mix was a bit sparse a top a bed of shredded and watery iceberg lettuce. Jon had a bleu cheese and bacon burger that looked and smelled incredible, and was cooked to the perfect medium pink. At first Jon thought the patty seemed a bit small, but ended up saying it was the perfect size considering how rich the burger was, including it's buttery buns speckled with white and black sesame seeds. Maybe I'll do a bunless burger next, or sesame shrimp noodles, or tacos. Whatever mood you're in, Yard House has something you'll be happy with. Plus their kitchen is open late. read more
