Pretty gross experience. Came here for our nephews (3yo) birthday dinner. First and foremost, we barely recognized a single character there? I remember coming back in the day with plenty of well-known princesses and superheroes to delight the kids. The only two characters we recognized this time were Luigi and the pop punk Spider-Man from the Multiverse (Hobie), who was our waiter. Hobie was actually an incredibly kind and attentive waiter, but that's about where my positive comments end. The ac was clearly out, the whole place was hot and stuffy and they had a bunch of fans pushing hot air around. The salad bar was gross, had limp lettuce and a gnat buzzing around the food. The silverware was splotchy and unclean. Asked for a booster seat for my three year-old and the only two options they had were either a small cushion that slid through the hole in the back of the chair or a plastic booster seat that was too tall for his legs to still fit under the table. That's not necessarily anyone's fault, but still unfortunate. The most unappetizing thing was the girl with dyed hair who was wearing nothing but a bra and mini skirt with drawn on swirly "tattoos" and a very obvious hickey on her chest. This is supposed to be a place for children, I have no idea what character she was supposed to be but I would have been disgusted to have her wait on our table with all the children. Overall the place felt unclean and unkept. Food was fine, basic, a little bland and overpriced -- but edible. I loved this place as a kid, but I will never return again. read more

Such an interesting concept. Amazing service from weird Barbie didn't actually get her real name A little bit like Willy Wonka's big candy room but for make believe It was actually pretty good. I don't know if getting some new carpet and a few other little things in there would actually help or hurt the look. It's so unique and you can definitely feel like it's very intentional The important thing was the service the service was amazing and tremendous from weird Barbie I think they really do a great job. And for smaller kids I think it's a great option for birthday parties especially if you can schedule it ahead of time so you don't have a long wait . Little kids long lines empty stocks are no Bueno ha ha read more

Fantastic service and a great environment for the whole family. Extremely fun and we have been here several times.

It's So Much Fun, I've been coming here since I was 10 years old. And enjoyed every time. I've continue the tradition with bringing my kids here as well for their birthdays dance floor upstairs is fun and the magic potion drinks are tasty. read more

DON'T GO! This place needs to be bulldozed. The carpet is filthy, the AC wasn't working and the hostess said it had been out all summer. We waited 45 minutes in the hot lobby ( thinking it would be worth the wait.) TERRIBLE DECISION! Our waitress was lackluster at best and the food was terrible. My grandkids and I were extremely disappointed. There are so many better choices in the area. read more

I went to MTM to celebrate my birthday. I wish we had gone on a weekend instead of a week night. Our server did a good job playing Forest Gump. Seating was easy during the week. But, with going during the week when it's less crowded than the weekend, you lose out on the volume of fun character-to-character interactions and the crowded energy, which is where the personalities really come out. I found pricing reasonable for the quality and volume of food, but my chicken parmesan itself was mediocre. Chicken was great but the pasta was crunchy, like it had been left out in the air overnight. My husband loved his burger. This is definitely a place to bring a kid, one who's old enough to understand character building and personality. As an adult, I had a hard time eating with the musty smell inside the dining room. Still a good night to be had and I consider a bucket list DFW restaurant. read more

One week into August and the a/c has been out SINCE JUNE in half the restaurant. They sat our birthday party in a booth that was 83°. The ladies room had only one working toilet. Worst restaurant experience of my entire life. Just don't go. read more

Cute and fun place to take the kids- they are always excited to visit. For me it's too expensive for the type of food served but it's mostly an experience for the kids here. Also most people are celebrating somewhere here. Food is okay but not the best. Waiters are always in character which makes this place fun for the kiddos. read more

What a fun time at Magic Time Machine. We had lousy service from our lady bug !! But a friend in from out of town enjoyed the Tiki Hut and food. Lots of kids enjoying their birthdays and if service was moved towards those who pay the check, they would be able to make it another 10 years in Dallas area. As an adult we want our drinks refilled, dirty plates removed and attention to condiments. We had none of the above. Which is sad because the atmosphere was fun and the food to our surprise was yummy. Tiki hubby had the stuffed blackened prime rib and we tried the sirloin & shrimp all was tasty and cooked to order. Drinks came soooo slow and so did service, especially since not busy on a Wednesday night. I have been coming here since the 80's for events please give the adult parties as much attention as the kid tables with good service or you will not be here for years to come. Only giving high rating for food. read more

We went for 3 Birthdays on 8/9/2026. Our server Beetlejuice was wonderful, no complaints on him. It was so HOT in the building no air conditioning, the decor is so old and outdated. Everyone enjoyed Beetlejuice, but that was it. If they would update the decor, change the nasty carpet and have a little air =conditioning it would have been a much better experience. Hopefully they will update the decor and add some air conditioning. I really feel for the employees that have to dress up and entertain the patron when it is hotter in the building that it is outside on a August day in Texas I will admit the food was nothing to brag about.... not sure if that is a normal day or just an off day when we went. read more

Hosts are very effing RUDE VERY HOT in this restaurant menus had food on them weren't clean whatsoever felt very dirty, walked straight out after getting seated was seated for 10 mins not one waiter had came to us read more

I have been to the Magic Time Machine many years ago and had fond memories. This time around it looks like I did go in a time machine back to 10 years ago. Atmosphere: The restaurant has a very dusty/musty smell that hits you as you get seated. The carpet is disgusting and run down with various spots of extreme wear and ripping. The different themed sections are fun to look at and the kids enjoyed walking around the restaurant looking at the different themes. Food: Was average at best. Burger was okay nothing special. The salad bar was delicious. The kids cheese pizza is a super thick pizza that my daughter took one bite and didnt touch again. Service: The server was fantastic in engaging with all of us and stayed in character throughout. She was the shining star of the evening as she made it very fun. Service was slower than expected and it took a long time to wrap up the evening with the dessert and the bill. The restaurant wasnt busy so that could be improved. Overall not likely to go back unless there are some major renovations. read more

Definitely fun for the whole family especially for the kids because all of their employees dress up as characters in movies and seems to do a really good job acting as character or portraying their persona. The third is so so and the pricing is kind of expensive but the environment and the ambience make it worth spending the money. read more

I came here once as a kid 20 years ago and always thought it was the coolest place ever. Tonight I brought my wife and son for their first time ever and it's even better than I hoped. The inside is like a wonderland, a true feast for the eyes. We saw the magic show upstairs while we waited for a table and it was SO WORTH IT! We had Starfire as our waitress, who was PERFECT and a ton of fun, but every character was awesome. It really feels like these people love what they do. We ordered things like the magic potion, the mushroom appetizer, burgers and chicken. Everything was amazing, really and truly EVERYTHING about this place seems like it was designed for your enjoyment, and then it pulls it off flawlessly. It will definitely not be 20 more years before we come back.. this restaurant could claim it's the best family restaurant in the world, and it wouldn't be wrong. read more

The food was good but the chicken Parmesan had no flavor, the grilled shrimp was the best out of it all ! The service was outstanding and funny ! read more

Oh my goodness, what a fun place. I am not going to go to the lengths necessary to describe the fun, crazy atmosphere. Each seating area had. A different theme and the servers were all different characters that they played in role. We all had the Roman Orgy (don't judge me). This is a family style meal that includes really good roasted chicken, a huge platter of brisket, corn on the cob that was phenomenal, roasted new potatoes and lots of different fruit. There were four grown men at our table and we did not come close to finishing the food. Definitely a fun place to go when celebrating something, or with a big group. read more

This place finally got some updates! I've been going to Magic since I was 10. It had became a little rundown and I am glad to see beaming smiles (unless you get Wednesday Addams) and some fresh looks to the booths. Honestly, my daughter and I go every year for Valentines and sometimes her birthday. It's her favorite spot of all time. You can't find a more kid-centric place. As for the food, I've had their salmon, prime rib and chicken. I think all are slightly better than a family chain restaurant. The car salad bar is cool and always fresh. We do tend to go early 4:30-5:30 so service and food are on point. We've had Merida, Ursula, Wednesday and Harley Quinn all which have been fantastic performers. I truly feel this place is an unforgettable experience. I'm not sure my daughters or my own childhood would be complete without it. read more

Food was definitely subpar. Temperature in the restaurant was at least 80 degrees. Not pleasant at all.

This place is for kids if you want to enjoy it!! I had all the nostalgia coming in. The smells, the sights, the characters!! I had not been here since I was 5, and wanted to take my 5 and 3 year old for my son's birthday. We were in the Mario room, which is a circular room, booth style. Our waitress was Harley Quinn and she was fantastic. She was hilarious and age appropriate for my kiddos. They got a huge laugh with her playing peekaboo with them. They have a photographer come around and take your photos. Those are $10/photo. They also have a balloon artist that works on tips. For a drink we got the fizzy potion drink - $2.99. They can choose between red, blue, green, or ugly (all colors mixed) Kids menu- $8.99 and they are pretty large meals. It also included salad car which has a good assortment. It also comes with a side and a cookie for dessert. Adult meal- I got the shrimp fettuccine. It was on the pricey end but really good. This also included the salad car. I got a salad, potato salad, and a bean salad. My only "complaint" is that there is some adult theme to the menu. Like calling a meal item an "Orgy". I'm not a prude but the whole place is geared towards children, so make it child like. read more

My husband and I brought our son for the first time on Sunday evening. We had Dracula as our server and he was PHENOMENAL. I really think he made our whole experience. My son is asking when we can go back and is calling everyone "humans" as he lurks around the house. :) We had the mozzarella sticks and they were really good. The salad car was fresh with lots of options. My son and husband had steak and ribs and loved it. I had the alfredo shrimp pasta - I was not a fan. Overall, I would recommend this place if you've never been. We grew up going here, so getting to take my son was such a joy. He loved his potion drinks, got a balloon figure and they still do the fun table side pictures. read more

The theme was fun, but the place was screaming for help! It kinda had an old lady grandma vibe. In some sense like an old theme park that was never kept up and dingy. I understand that the vibe is supposed to be historical but that doesn't meet you can up keep the carpet and such. Besides the atmosphere, the food was okay, our waitress was great, but you could tell she need our food was going to be off. I had the steak and lobster tail, I paid a big price foe A LITTLE tail. My steak was extra chewy and cold, the waitress bright the food out and asked if our food looked right, and funny enough she asked if my steak was cold. I'm a polite person, so I said it was fine and continued to eat my semi cold food (the asparagus was the best thing on the menu) The potato was cold the cheese was stale. For the amount of time it took us to driver over , the. Wait a 30-45 min just to eat cold food, I should have just cooked. I'd ur looking for nostalgic, and mediocre food then this is the spot for you. read more

Magic Time Machine - Magic Time Machine Waiter - Bars Near Me - Dallas, Texas

We've been to the Magic Time Machine in San Antonio and had wonderful experiences! We had to be in the Dallas area for my daughter's surgery so we came a few days early for some fun and came to try this Magic Time Machine. Our experience started off with disappointment when we were told we couldn't get on the waitlist online or over the phone but had to be there in person. We have two small kids so we were hoping to do something else to keep them busy while we waited. We needed a table for 9 and knew it might take a while. Then while waiting we decided to go inside. It was so hot with no air flow. We waited an HOUR past the wait time quoted. We would have left except we were already there (since we had to be to get on the waitlist) AND this was specifically for our kids. Also, there was a large poster advertising the online waitlist . We kept getting the run around on seating. Then when a worker overheard us saying we had been waiting two hours they found us a space with two tables instead of 1. At this point we just wanted food and a cooler location. Our seats were in a slightly cooler part of the restaurant but it took some fanning of menus and frozen drinks to get us cooled down. The food was great. The fairy godmother was fun. And the rest of the experience was fantastic. I wanted to leave a 5 star review here like I did for San Antonio, but I just couldn't after waiting 2 hours. We will go back to SA, but I don't know if we will be back to this location in Addison. read more

It's total filth. Gummy carpet and gross from the front door all the way through. Believe me.... I walked to all of it and took my whole party right back out the front door. It's such a shame because it was epic when our children were young. We won't go back. read more

My two little daughters have been picking MTM for their birthday dinners for the last couple years but we told them we will no longer go there after the pretty atrocious sight we saw last time. There is a female server who dresses up as Harley Quinn. We've seen her a few times. Not our favorite, but she's never been our server so we paid no mind. However, at our last visit, she was part of a crew singing the Roman Orgy song (is that really appropriate for a kids-themed restaurant?) at the table next to us and she was wearing shorts that covered MAYBE 50% of her rear end. My girls, wife, in-laws and I had this woman's bare butt in our faces while she sang this song. It was very offensive and totally inappropriate for little children. I worked in restaurant service a long time ago and I could never imagine letting one of my employees dress half naked. We saw sweet little children younger than ours dressed up as princesses and superheroes running around for autographs and all we could think of was they were destined to see this woman's naked rear end. Honestly, I don't know who's to blame more - the server for being so naive to think she could dress like that, or the manager for allowing it as I'm sure that night was not the first night she wore such skimpy shorts, but either should be let go for such audacious unprofessionalism and inappropriateness. Each visit has been exponentially worse as the newer characters are all on the dark goth side. There is maybe one kind princess-type character to 50% of the attendees being little girls, while the other characters are Wednesday Adams, Harley Quinn, and Disgust. There are very few positive characters anymore, but not that it matters to us anymore because that was our last time going. Nastiest place ever. read more

This restaurant has been around for a while mainly because it's good for the families and the kids. The drinks were good but the food is mediocre at best and not worth the price. Magic Time Machine - Banana Margarita - Bars Near Me - Dallas, Texas

Me and my boyfriend came to MTM together for the first time since we were both kids. We came with the memories of fun characters, and overall a fun time. We were a bit disappointed with the whole experience. Let's start from the top, our server, spiderman, was great! He made good conversation and every time we saw him interacting with anyone he always had the same demeanor. I will say, other servers we saw looked like they hated their job, but I don't blame them. There were some very disrespectful children there last night. We ordered the calamari as an appetizer, a bit on the rubbery side, but we figured since the restaurant isn't known for any particular type of food, it was fine. We went to the salad bar, such a cool concept and really enjoyed that everything had a theme. Not a lot of options for the salad bar in terms of different toppings, but understandable. This place caters towards children so I don't expect a ton of stuff that could possibly not get eaten. Then me and my boyfriend both ordered pasta. He had the chicken Alfred, and for me, the chicken Parmesan. The pasta tasted like some kind of dry, gluten free, cafeteria food pasta. It reminded us both of high school cafeteria meals. However the chicken on both of our meals was FANTASTIC. Probably the best part of our meal. Our meals also came with bread and butter. I honestly don't think the butter was edible. It was genuinely awful, and tasted super super salty and almost watery? I'm not exactly how to describe it but it almost tasted like the butter was in a glass of water and they pulled it out. I could not even swallow it. Like I said, this place caters towards kids, I don't expect super super high quality food or anything, especially for everything being so cheap. I will say, this place was CRAWLING with screaming kids the entire night. I don't know if there was some kind of scavenger hunt or something where the kids get signatures from each character but the kids were CROWDING around the kitchen where the servers and workers were running in and out of to keep the place running. They servers asked them multiple times to please move out of the way and wait. I could tell how stressed out and overwhelmed everyone looked. Overall, this place is a very fun experience, super cheap, and a good time all together. Maybe just don't get any pasta items:)) read more

Went here tonight. Service was horrible. I can't blame the server I blame the owners. The server had 2 huge tables and busing her own tables too.
