A casual pub with indoor and outdoor seating offering a good selection of drinks and shot eats. Service was great. The staff were prompt to get the orders for refills yet not too intrusive. There are television sets around the restaurant and would be a perfect venue to watch a game with a group of friends. Limited parking available right outside the restaurant, but there is a huge park parking lot a minute's walk away. Pricing is moderate. This will be a really good spot for a fun evening. Came here during playoff football for the city, so it was packed. I honestly was lucky to find a bar seat but that's understandable considering the context. Despite the crowd, the staff was very courteous, making sure to check in on me here and there. The food and drinks were great. Also, great value as well. For "Kid's" chicken tender meal, I felt like I ate like an adult! The TV set up for the games is nice as well. If you're looking for a casual place to hang out, this is a good spot. I've been for happy hour (great prices) and it's not typically busy, but have left before the night crowd comes out (when the sun sets, I go home) so it's possible it gets busy. You have to order at the bar, but it's a small restaurant and they'll quickly get to you. I've had their chicken tenders tossed in buffalo and they're good, no crispy skin falling off the second you take a bite. I've ordered the pretzel twice - the first time it wasn't great but the second was *chef's kiss*. They have a pool table and golden tee, and a patio with garage doors they roll up in nice weather. All this to say, it's a nice local hole in the wall to add to your list. read more

Not overly crowded on a Monday night and decided to come in here since they had football playing but the sound was on for the baseball game, oh well can't have everything. Bartender was kind of nice and about every 15 minutes when asked if I needed anything. Very happy when I saw that they had Chocolate Stout which is something you should try and what's your life, it's $7 but it was a good $7. This being Monday their specials are $3 Miller Lites and $5 any appetizers that you want. I got the Frito pie which was salty as the inside of a Morton's salt container. I counted 11 TVs here about 3, 80 inch screens in front of the bar. Not too sure what to say about how one stranger from out of town coming in here should feel but it's like unless you are known here and have been here everyday, you much might feel a little awkward but what was I expecting, Cheers? I love the Addison area. This bar was cool. Had jumbo televisions to enjoy sports on while having your drink of choice. I went with their flight. I got to choose from 5 different beers in very reasonable "sample-sized" glasses. & with the price being only $10, I would recommend anyone to go that route, flights are very enjoyable. An incredibly inferior experience was had by my friend and I this evening. We came in and seated ourselves. It took several attempts to get the attention of the bartenders/weight staff to order a beer and a soft drink. My friends, diet Pepsi, or Coke tasted terrible of chemicals and was flat. It was drinkable. We wanted to have a couple of appetizers but every time we try to get the attention of, the dark haired or the blonde haired waitresses, they would avert theiir eyes and ignore us. After 30 minutes, we were able to turn in an order of corndogs and a pretzel. 10 or 15 minutes later I was asked if I wanted another beer I said no I wanted the appetizers that we ordered so there was only one chef or something like that in the back cooking was given. The beers were discounted . Meanwhile the staff waited on and filled orders for people that came in after us. This is the worst dining out experience if I have had in a long time. A very nice hangout place in a very nice area. They have good selections of beers and very attentive bartenders. I'd comeback more often if I don't live really far away from this place. Then went there and needless to say the employees didn't even know the phone was out till one asked. Had been out the entire 2 weeks and probably more. I think the music should be a little louder and lights dimmer. Sometimes it seems too quiet for a bar or the TV is on MTV and louder than music. Should be more into sports since it's a sports bar. We pay for some of our music to play I noche music box and can barely hear it. Food is not good outside of a few items and appetizers. The only thing I love here it's the pretzel when it's fresh. That's the expectation for a bar of this caliber. Like the pool table. Need more room for the pool sticks though. Good place to visit when you just wanna walk to whatever is open at that time. Very disappointed on second visit- First, sat outside and rusty staples jabbed my leg! They had come out or loose from the bench cover. Waitress saw me point them out and said nothing. Second, had won trivia last week (thus the second visit) and was told we couldn't split our $25 amongst the team. We won as a team, why cant we split as a team? Third, had to run down and tackle our waitress any and every time we wanted food or drinks. I had to go get water from the bar myself. Fourth, came time for the check waitress couldn't figure out how to split the bill. We had to math it out for her and she still got it wrong! read more

Wow where do I start.... I live across the street and come here often. I enjoy the convince of the location. But after the "9pm" rule I'm not sure I'll return. My sister is in town who is 20 we came to enjoy a nice meal. The server informs us that we are not welcome after 9 pm because she is under 20. Note that it's not on a sign one or noted anywhere in the restaurant. This is right before we where ordering food. The place is dead to add to it. I'm so offended that I can't enjoy a meal with my sister at a place I frequent often. Because a rule they made up all of the sudden. Congrats guys you lost my busses and I hope many others!!!! This is by far the worst experience I've ever had at a restaurant . First it took 20 min for a waitress to pay attention to us then we asked for a menu and water. We waited 20 min for a water and we had to ask the bartender for a menu ,because the waitress never brought one and she just keep talking to the other co workers. Then we order food ,once we got the food after 20 min I guess she wanted for us to eat with our fingers because we had to ask for silverware after 10 min of waiting for her to realize that we need it them or napkins. We asked for ketchup for our fries she brought back expired ketchup bags ,because she said she couldn't find any bottles in the entire bar. I live close to Addison Ice House and my friend and I had decided to give it a try. The bar itself, is casual, no frills, cool, neighborhood vibe. We decided to go on a night that they were advertising Free Taco Bar with purchase of a drink. That seemed like a no-brainer as the time to try them out. Well, we ordered a drink and asked about the Taco Bar. Guess what, no Taco Bar. They have apparently been advertising it and haven't gotten it together to execute. Whaaaaat? We let the manager know that was the reason we even decided to come. He did say he thought they would maybe have it together in the next few weeks. Hmmmmmm...okay. We stayed and had an order of the trash can nachos. The presentation of this appetizer is pretty cool. They bring out a coffee can full of nachos on a sheet tray and then pull the coffee can off to reveal the mound of nachos. Unfortunately, the experience of the presentation did not match the taste. The chips were cold and the toppings were very minimal. This appetizer really has potential and just needs some tweaking in the kitchen. Warm the chips and get the toppings to chips ratio better. With presentation like you have, the food taste experience should match. The restroom was clean and had all supplies (important thing that most ladies care about at a local neighborhood bar). While they are apparently going through some staff and / or management changes and things seem a little bumpy, there is potential. Some of the wait staff could use a little pep in their step and maybe act like they are happy to be there. Would likely go back to check out again and see if things improve. The only reason being is that the new bar manager seemed to be aware of the issues and committed to getting things turned around. We'll see...the potential is definitely there. This is a local bar to me I try I frequent but I always end up next door because the bartenders at this place are always unpleasant at best, rude at worst. Never smiling, always look miserable. Food is really cheap tasting compared to next door which you can tell the quality. We were watching the eagles cowboys game and laughing having a good time taking shots. They came up to us and said we're being too loud (the bar was silent probably by training from these bartenders hushing people). We're at a bar watching a big game and having a good time? Very weird to be shushed in a bar setting lol. We immediately felt unwelcomed and went next door where it was fun, loud, where free shots are given by the bartenders. Every bartender at VP Tavern is smiling and laughing and so are all the patrons. No one is laughing or smiling here at ice house... Aka, I'm done with this place. I've given them so many chances. When arriving to the bar we sat in the patio.Then waived at the waitress to let her know we just sat. We ordered the rasberry frozen margaritas,they were not even frozen and tasted like robitussin dont recommend.Then ordered food,took over an hour later for some chicken tenders and tots. The waitress didnt even let us know the kitchen was backed up. Or else we would of just had drinks and left. She brings out the food does not even offer us condiments or napkings and leaves us there another hour we could not get her attention unless standing up and waiving at her.
