I've had my eye on The Addison Ice House for months trying to talk myself into going in. From my vantage point over the past five months, the typical patrons appear to be dude bros with backward baseball caps bro-ing it up in the street blasting music from their pickup trucks at 2 AM, or mackin' on some girl against the wall outside of the bar. I've witnessed what appears to be a bizarre mating ritual that I am unfamiliar with between the dude bros that involves revving engines, squealing tires, loud music, and howling. A great deal of hoopin' and hollerin', not exactly my cup of tea. Addison Ice House announced their weekend brunch and like any self respecting middle class white girl, I love me some brunch! I left my dog at home for this maiden trip, as I wasn't sure if the regular rowdy crowd would be in attendance. (The patio is now pup friendly.) Thankfully, we were the only patrons out on the patio, sharing it with employees along with their children having a staff meeting. The brunch menu had four items to choose from; chicken and waffles, biscuits and gravy, breakfast tacos, and a breakfast scramble. Bloody Marys and Mimosas were also available, and not as competitively priced as their closest neighbor. The scramble was nice, although a bit busy. Seasoned potatoes topped with eggs, cheese, brisket, sausage gravy, and a sweet BBQ sauce. The sauce was a bit sweet for me, I would have preferred a spicy hot sauce. I had a bite of the chicken and waffles and I did appreciate the boneless chicken. I am interested to see how the brunch menu evolves. My worry is that the Ice House's regular target audience may not be the brunch crowd. I hope word spreads and we have another great brunch option in the area. read more

I love this place! Found out about this place because they will always have the Stars game on. We come down to watch the Stars Games and for trivia on Tuesday nights. PJ is awesome! Some of the best "Bar Food" I have ever had. Some of the awesome stuff I have had: Pigs in a blanket(Pretzel wrapped little Nathans hot dogs with cheese dip), Nachos (Beans, cheese and fajita chicken or steak) Loaded Queso Fries, Quesadilla, Mucky Duck Burger(Has mac and cheese on it with a Pretzel bun), and the BBQ sandwich. They smoke the brisket onsite for the BBQ. Dang is it awesome! The sauce is a little on the spicier side, I preferred the brisket with out sauce. It is so tasty on its own. They have a pretty good Beer and alcohol selection. (One of the few places that carries Milagro. Makes me happy because that's one of my favs) Pretty good size patio with picnic tables. They can close it off during the cold months and put heaters out there. Its a little out of the way, but its an awesome place to go. They have an air hockey table in the back which is awesome because not a lot of places have those anymore. I recommend this place for anyone. Especially those of you who are looking to catch a Stars game and not deal with the other sports bars who will only give you one of the small side TVs and don't care about your sports choice because hockey isn't popular in Texas. This place was pretty cool. I love the location! Very clean looking . Lol. I think we came on a night when it was kinda dead . Maybe Saturday is better ? I like how the place is set up with a nice little view, but you can't see the view everywhere unfortunately . The trees block it. I ordered my normal drink and it was stiff, which is a plus! Great , attentive bartender . I think this spot will be cool during football season ,as they had nice tv screens,a BBQ pit on the patio , and cushioned seat benches on the patio . Sometime you walk into a place before ever trying their food and know you'll be back. This is one of those places. Friendly staff and a great selection of southern comfort food and burgers. They have a BBQ pit outside so you know it's not good service BBQ you're eating. The view also complements the food. I'd say stick with some BBQ or a burger and you're good to go! ...my first time there...to see the Christmas lights, which were SPECTACULAR! ...tried the Hill Country Egg Rolls...they were actually pretty darn good. But the Holy Trinity Barbecue plate, needs to be run out of Texas on a rail to, maybe, Connecticut. The brisket was dry, cold and stiff...more like a left over roast...had to ask for BBQ sauce. The sausage was actually pretty nice (all sausage is)...but the ribs..NOT! They were dry, cold and had about as much flavor, texture and appeal as a Play-Doh...probably re-heated too many times. The rub tasted like ashes. The beans were of the store bought, canned variety, with nothing to punch them up. Our first few beer selections were rejected for being: Not Available. We asked about some creative names of other brews....staff said they were really just fancy pseudonyms for run of the mill, brand names. Which brings us to our hostess...talk about low energy! I don't think we ever saw as smile or spark of personality or general interest that we were even there. I LOVE coming here! I've pretty much become a regular here, as I normally come on Sundays to join the Jets Football Fan Club of Dallas in watching their abismal Jets get their butts stomped by whatever team they're playing that weekend! It's hard to find a bar in Addison with a great view. Most of them are of the street, but this place has one of the best views/atmospheres in Addison. All of the staff were very attentive and friendly but most importantly, we got our drinks quickly! Actually that may not be the most important, but it was definitely a plus! Since the patio is open, it can get a little warm if you're inside trying to take advantage of the AC. Once the weather cools down more, I won't be surprised if this place gets packed regularly. read more

I would like to know what planet it is appropriate for a waitress to tip herself $20 without permission? My boyfriend and his friends went to trivia night last night and won. They asked the waitress to split the money evenly between the bills. Instead, she tips herself $20, and then splits the remaining $5 between the tickets. When my boyfriend pointedly tipped her zero, she giggled and said, "it's all right. I already got more than 20%." The other two members of his party didn't care, and they all wanted to leave so they didn't tear her a new one in front of her manager. Two problems I personally experienced: (1) Just because the rotators are not priced on the menu it does not mean you can charge whatever you want. Laughable you charge a Rahr Wiskey Warmer $10 when it's $5 at Flying Saucer. And an undrinkably-weak No Label for $7. (2) Wings are awful. Don't know how long they let the wings sit out before serving them the skin hadan awful texture, and the fries that came with it had a foul taste. On top of that the so called BBQ wings hardly had sauce on it so we had to ask for extra sauce, which they charged you extra for. read more
