Not for me. I walked in and thought it was super strange that the doorway INSIDE smelled like cigarettes, not the outside. Then I realized that smoking is allowed indoors at this place. I seriously thought Louisiana was the only state where this was still allowed and was shocked. Beer selection was fine, nothing to write home about. Don't come looking for a bunch of craft beers. Our server did a great job even though it seemed like she was the only one working tonight. They also warn you with a sign at the door that they're short staffed, but honestly I thought it was fine. Maybe if I were throwing back drinks, I would have needed to go up to the bar for more drinks, but for our group, I found the server pretty attentive. We had the chips, queso, and salsa, and the mozzarella sticks. I thought the queso was pretty good. I didn't really touch the salsa because I kept eating the queso. The mozzarella sticks had a nice cheese pull when they first arrived at the table nice and warm. I had a nice time but when we left, my jacket smelled like an ashtray. I'm pretty sure all of me reeked of cigarette smoke. I got home and immediately threw everything in the washer and showered. My jacket still smelled like cigarettes after the wash so I sprayed Febreze on it. I appreciated the Saints stuff on the walls and honestly I thought the ambiance was great for a large group. Disgusting. I ordered delivery last night and just heated up some remaining slices. I ended up seeing a long hair on the front that wrapped around the bottom. I flipped the slice over and saw the most disgusting thing I've ever seen (see pic). Idk wtf that black mass is on the bottom but I do know that I'll never eat there again. I am in Addison on business about four times a year and always make time for an evening at The Quarter Bar & Grill. Please note that it is smoker friendly. As a cigar guy, I am right at home. If smoking is not your thing, they have a really nice outdoor, covered seating area. They have a really efficient ventilation system inside that really does a good job of removing the smoke. Almost exclusively, I have been served by two male bartenders for several years. Don't know their names, but both are on their game. There is seating at the bar for approximately 30 people and both of these guys keep up with the drinks and are friendly to boot. As mentioned, the bar area has seating for about 30 people, with approximately an additional 20 traditional tables/pub tables scattered around. There are pool tables, and a small stage for karaoke (I think). They have about a dozen beers on tap, split between local and traditional. Their liquor offering is extensive, but not high-end. They have a solid food menu that covers all of the bases. I have gotten food to-go several times, and each time it was served promptly and was good. They seem to be locally famous for fresh oysters, but I have not tried them. Although there a significant number of bars in the immediate area, the Quarter Bar & Grill is a nice, relaxed dive bar. Yes, this is one of our favorite spots for just a HH get together or dropping by earlier in the day for a snack or two. Today was one of those days! We really enjoy sitting @ the nice roomy bar and most of the time are able to grab our favorite spot on the raised atrium bar level. The bartenders usually recognize us and bring our choice libations without even having to ask. Both Amber & Sheena are top notch @ their jobs, always friendly & smiling and attentive to observing when a refill is needed. It was very quiet when we arrived around noon on this weekday; so surprised there was not a lunch crowd, only 4-5 other patrons present. Sheena quickly greeted us and served the glass of Chardonnay & Miller Lite draft. We sipped on those a while, discussing the current drama at the big white house in D.C. Always some new topic to analyze for sure. We ordered the pork fried dumplings with the spicy dipping sauce, oh so good; plump, w/lots of filling, tender with crispy edges. We each had one and got the remainder to go. Their fries....some of the best in Addison, along with those @ Vernon's down the street! So nicely seasoned, fat crispy on the outside and tender in the middle. Great with a spicy ketchup or ranch dressing ! We enjoyed one more round of drinks, got our snacks to go, and headed home after another great experience @ TQB&G. This is the place to go if you're an alcoholic and want to be over served! The bartenders are irresponsible and continue to serve people long after they are blacked out. So, to make it up, they tried to give us the heated patio and our own bartender which was isolated from the bar. You couldn't even participate inside the bar unless you walked in.
