I started coming here a couple years ago and have come to know all the bar tenders. Al, Jen and Walker always take good care of me when i go, i showed this place to my friends and it has since become a group favorite since the beers are about $6 and come in a giant mug. This is one of our fav hidden gem, local billard bar. Prices for the darts and pool table is pretty cheap. Drinks are a great price. Food is also surprisingly good. We always get the fried pickles and they are a hit every time. The bar patrons are amazing, you can really get the local feel of it. Now the service is a diff story, you really do have to flag down the staff. But I personally don't mind it due to already setting those expectations that this isn't a 5 star establishment. Relaxed atmosphere with outstanding friendly customer service. It was surprisingly larger than I anticipated when I walked in. Obviously they have billiard tables everywhere, and they also have darts, but what tops this place off for me is that they have PING PONG TABLES!!! Went there with my friend on Thursday night and played ping pong. A great place to unwind! Classic Pool Hall in every sense of the term The Billiard Den is a pool hall like I grew up in. It's packed with good tables, lots of booze, regulars and smoke. Yes. You can smoke inside. For me, that deal breaker. But if you don't mind, this could be your next home to rack 'em up. The Happy Hour drink specials were good and seemed to keep the locals at the bar happy while we took a table in the large room where the cocktail servers kept us happy. We did not eat but enjoyed hours of great breaks, killer banks, some scratches and disappointing losses. It was all worth it. If it was not for the smoke, I would be back. Customer service is nice. If you spend $20 before 7 or 8, your pool is free. Not too many people here. Just a bunch of older pool sharks having a few drinks and taking amazing shots. This was a fun place to play pool. They have tables that use quarters or tables that you can pay by the hour. The rock music they were playing was decent too. The afternoon we went it was semi dead so our waitress hung out near us so it was very easy to order drinks from her. Be warned, people can smoke in here, and boy can you smell it. Which may also, according to my credit card company, be called Three Cushions Billiards. Not sure. They basically have pool, darts and electronic bar games. Oh, and the rockinest most well stocked jukebox ever. I used up my $2 and didn't even make it through the Cs alphabetically! This place has two dollar gin and tonics. Okay, so...if you just want to play pool and drink cheaply, this place is awesome. Went on Sunday night, free pool with a two drink minimum. A "drink" is $3 U-call its or soda. Their U-call its are awesome. Not just crappy well alchohol, they will Absolute, Cuervo or Jaeger you without batting an eye. The billiard tables are pretty nice and drunk ping pong (table tennis) was pretty awesome. I know I gave this place a pretty good rating but it was mainly for the cheap alchohol and our tattood covered waitress being extremely attentive, funny and sweet. DO NOT EAT HERE. The kitchen is an open kitchen where you can watch them fry up fat laden stuff right in front of your face...well....if you go back into the very dark part of the bar where there is no one. A couple of months ago, I was sitting in the dark waiting for a friend when I observed the owners son (he makes it very known who he is) pick his nose, wipe it on his pants and then proceed to pick up a hamburger bun. The nose picking...happened three times during my visit that day. Needless to say, I left that day and will never eat a bite of anything to come from their kitchen. The bouncer is a freaking joke. A bald redneck (I am redneck so I am allowed) with a serious attitude problem. When walking in, he says "This is a smoking bar folks, its the way we like it, if you don't, you can walk right out the door you came in." Lovely. That is great, we are all smokers...then he proceeded to poke out his chest and inform us that he is the law in "here" and that if we have a problem, he will be the one to deal with it and we "don't want none of that, 'cause it won't be no fun." So...stay away from the food and the crazy bouncer and on Sunday night, you can play pool and get drunk for $6 a person. Bueno. Oh and FYI, karoke nights are definately interesting. The place is good to play pool. Lots of table. I ordered an appetizer and it was very good, not fresh to be exact. The WORST part about my experience there was the waiter. The service was bad and i left a $3 tip which the waiter charged $13. Luckily my bank reached out to me because that was about 60% tip. Will never trust them. Ok so I love this place. Why? Because it's kinda awesome. Lots of pool tables, and karaoke (with decent songs!). The people are friendly, it's an everyone knows your name kind of a bar and I mean honestly, if you're looking for some hoity toity bar to strut your skin tight low cut fresh off the rack glitzy dress then you probably wont enjoy yourself here. The drinks are inexpensive, the atmosphere is comfortable, the pool players are forgiving (which is necessary for a backwards novice -note understatement- like me) and it's really just a place to have a good fun time with no pretenses. 4 stars because I had to wince and raise my eyebrows a few times while downing my drinks, but hey, it gets the job done. read more

Greeted by signs that say no vests/patches. I do understand, there are plenty of 'biker-friendly' establishments that don't allow colors inside. That turns a lot of people off, but it happens. But this place goes even further. No shirts with any logos or any inkling at affiliation to anything of the sort. We went to check it out a few weeks ago as my (at the time) number one pick for my birthday party next month. Turn out is usually around 30+ people. Always a good crowd for an establishment. It's a shame too, I personally did like the place. It's big enough offers plenty to do, seems the smoke isn't too intense (but it was pretty empty that night) and the drink specials and prices were really good. Real laid back place and down-to-earth staff and patrons. Service was good despite our coming before a shift change. Came on a Sunday right before 5p so the night staff was still just showing up. I want to say it was the owner that came up and checked our IDs. She had a heavy smoker's voice and a cigarette in her hand (lol!). Extremely nice. She explained the specials and gave us newbies a tour of the place. We decided on darts in the "man cave" room for the privacy. We ordered drinks and the chips and queso. Queso was yummy but could've used more chips as we ran out of chips before dip. The Sunday special is spend $10 minimum per person to get an 8ft pool table free for the evening just in case that's a change from the past. Docked a star due to the smoke (it does hit you when you enter), however, because the place is so large, the ventilation is a lot better than smaller billiards bars. Love the way the place is laid out. Music is provided via juke box so it's mainly country and rock (leans more toward the latter thankfully). The Billiard Den was surprisingly larger than I anticipated when walking in the front door. Be sure to have your ID out and ready to be checked by the person at the front door. We got there pretty early so it was quite empty and we had our pick of tables near the dart boards. It's been ages since I've played steel tip darts so that was a nice change of pace, not to mention there were score boards and free darts to use in exchange for them holding your ID. The drinks were extremely cheap which was also a positive. If you are sensitive to cigarette smoke, this may not be a good option, but there is so many options of things to do here from playing pool on several different sized tables, darts, video games, and even karaoke that everyone can be pleased. Huge dive bar with everything you would expect + ping pong. I go karaoke on Tuesday nights and sing there. I'm not sure if the huge space makes the sound not carry or the system is just set up that way but sometimes I wish they would tweak the system a little; it sounds too low I think. Last night will be my last night in this place. A couple hours into a bday party (the only reason I was there), a worker accused me of smoking weed in the bathroom. After I denied it and pointed out that not only was I not but no one else was (there was no smell) another worker came over, crouched next to my chair (so close that she would have smelled it if I'd been smoking weed) and wanted me to 'level with her'. She told me that the cops were coming/there already (unsure of which, I was right by the speakers) a fact that didn't bother me since, as I'd stated numerous times, I *hadn't been smoking anything other than my cigars*! After she seemed to be convinced, she then pointed to another chick and asked if it was her. At that point, I figured she was either stupid or on some mission of some sort as I'd plainly said multiple times that I didn't even smell anything off in the air. I was pissed and we decided to leave. Anyhow, I rarely go here for various reasons and only ever go now for a friend's yearly party. After last night's humiliating, rude behavior, I won't even be going back for that. read more

Pool tables galore.... dart boards plentiful..... karaoke a hoot, service fast and friendly. Food is bar food but not unbearable but did I mention this bar still allows smoking? SCORE for the home team! :-) Bathroom is lit up like Vegas and the full length mirror in the ladies room is like a clown mirror! It makes me shorter than I really am and wider than I think I really am but if you look at your reflection in the hand dryer vent it makes you look way taller and skinnier than you really are so it's a great balance! Tables seriously need to be refelted. There are nicks all over them and a sheen on them from hands being on them. I wouldnt even think about ording from a waitress as they were not attentive and slow. Pours were small and several people i was with said they couldnt even taste liquor in their drinks. They do have good drink specials during the week but for the size of the shots i dont really consider it that special. I really used to like it but something has changed. Conveniently located in northern Richardson with a large, growing amount of regular customers. You will recognize many familiar faces each and every time you visit this establishment. Customer loyalty is a testament to the quality of service and the positive vibration at The Billiard Den in Richardson. Although there is traditionally a high amount of employee turnover in the service industry, this is not the case at the Den. Virtually the entire staff are long-term employees. Jenn, Al, Brandy, or Walker are usually the faces you will find managing the bar, while servers and cocktail waiters serve the rooms & guests. The team obviously has a strong dynamic. They do a great job maintaining order and keeping a visually/aesthetically pleasing image throughout the club. I highly recommend bringing guests to the den, as they are made to feel right at home and treated as family. Almost every person I've brought has a guest has since returned multiple times. They have great drink specials and it's one of the only clubs in town that permits smoking. This is a turn off for many, but ultimately not a deal breaker for most. Personally, I can understand both sides of the case, but for the case of argument, I believe that people are very comfortable and enjoy having the liberty to smoke inside. Even if you don't like cigarettes, vaporizers and cloud blowing is pop culture and everyone is doing it. The owner, Marcy, has done a great job at creating a brand for The Billiard Den. Patrons have the freedom/ability to choose between playing on Billiard's tables of all types and sizes, ranging from 6' quarter tables ($1/per game), to 7", 8", or 9" snookers. It is the only bar in Dallas with 2 ping pong tables, and they are both brand new and were professionally installed around black Friday 2017. There are a growing number of regulars who play ping pong here. Accordingly, they offer a weekly, double elimination, bracket style table tennis tournament that takes place Wednesday nights at 8 pm. The entrance fee is $10 and it generally gets a solid turn out. There are also many professional grade dart boards available for use, as well as a private man cave that can be reserved for events. There are leagues for pool, darts, and corn hole. There are karaoke nights twice a week and they are always a hoot! $3.50 Crown & Downs 3 nights a week is definitely enough to generate a cult following in these parts! Prepare yourself for a good time with great people at The Billiard Den. Be careful though, as you might just get hooked to this kind of service... I know I sure did. I would give them a zero start if it is an option. One of the servers (Kim) refused to serve our party(party of 10) in multiple visits in there, and when we asked about the reasons she said I don't want to serve because I just dont want to. I believe its a racial issue while on the other hand, she were serving the table beside us! in one of the visit, I had friend of mine coming for the down in a visit from Houston and I felt very embarrassed because of this situation . I would not go to this horrible place again as This servant (Kim) and the management of this place disrespected and discriminated us by all means. read more
