Stopped by this spot with a group on Friday evening and this place was lit! I thought it was just a club/lounge but it's also a karaoke bar. And while there was a mix of ages, it def seemed to skew towards the 30+ and up crowd. Quick ID check and $10 for cover will get you in. They've got a full bar, pool tables, and karaoke all sharing the space. The DJ did a pretty good job with the music and karaoke singers got a solo after the DJ played a few songs. This place is a TIME. Perfect spot to catch a game and maybe make some new friends. It seemed like a lot of groups knew eachother and there may have even been some dancing. DJ was banging out early 2000s hiphop classics which was juuust . The service was great, wings were OUTSTANDING and the prices were reasonable. It gets packed on the weekends but it's a great time on a Saturday night. The only downside is that they charge a cover after 9 on the weekends and the parking lot gets packed. The service is the worst. No paper id that's legally assigned by the state of Texas since they're "privately owned". I've came multiple times here and today was the only day they've been upset about my paper id. Also why do you guys have 2 security checking ids and on the inside you have an automatic id scanner? The only thing worth coming is the wings to go. Everyone here is particularly rude but visiting Texas makes it extremely annoying to come here on specific days whenever certain security is here. My fellow Yelper & friend Tiffany invited me here to have a few drinks after work. It's a cool little dive bar with good drink specials, karaoke and a live dj. The great thing about this bar is that they have happy hour 7 days a week. The specials vary depending on the day. On Monday's happy hour is all day & night & on Friday's they have $3 you call it until 8 pm. If your a beer drinker they have $5 pitchers on Sunday's. My Hideaway also has a small patio that seats maybe 20 people and they also have some decent bar food with HUGE portions. I go here during the day to shoot pool. This review is pretty much only for the pool tables, bar service, and food. I've never been here past 6pm so can't speak for that. I can say however the tables are here are slick. Kept very well, spaced apart properly and house cues are in good condition. Definitely recommend this place to anyone trying to shoot around at a low-key, not crowded place near richardson (ahem *rack daddy's*). Did you ask about the food? They serve pretty much only bar food, nothing too healthy but goodness me. Their portions are enormous. the food is so tasty. Everything they make, they make pretty much perfectly. I love a good dive bar. I mean L O V E. I seek them out. Usually great people watching and cheap drinks. I did get both of those "qualities" at The Hideaway, so why so few stars? First, it is really hard to find. In a scrolling shopping center, had to drive around a few times before spotting the sign. Maybe that's how it got it's name? Second, as soon as I walked in the front door the stench of old beer and vomit overcame me. Thought about turning right around and leaving, but then "I'm here already...check it out." I remember reading on one of the other reviews that Hideaway was "trying too hard to be a dive..it was too nice" [not verbatim]. I don't want to know where that person has been hanging out, because the Hideaway is most certainly a D I V E. haha Third, the bar was kind of busy, but not packed and the service was pretty slow. Only stayed for one drink but took some time to get those drinks then the tab. Lastly, very creepy men at the bar. My husband walked straight to the men's room when we entered so I guess they thought I was there alone. Got hit on by 3 different guys before the hubby made it over. One guy's line: he leaned in, held out his hand and said "You are." Not in the form of a question, but rather a statement. One of the other guys was sitting at the corner and continued to creepily stare at me even after my husband arrived. I guess I should be flattered and I am one tough cookie so I wasn't intimidated or anything...it was just a more odd "experience" than I've had in the million other places I've been to in my life.
