This is a huge location with a lot of (backless) barstools and a few standard tables. They have a great HH specials if you can make it. We've been to other RG locations and this was similar to those. It wasn't overly busy, so we were promptly helped. We started with the $6 HH special, Rattlesnake, which is a frozen marg with sangria swirl. It was heavenly! And at $6, sign me up for two! The burgers were as expected, fantastic. The ranch house was impeccable with that bacon/onion jam. Wish I had another. The fries, both sweet potato and regular were quite crispy and seasoned well. My family and I decided to go to Rodeo Goat for lunch. We walked in, were politely greeted, and told to sit wherever we wanted. There was plenty of seating at the restaurant with long tables, sit down tables, and outdoor seating. After choosing our table we waited 15 minutes before our waitresses showed up. They were very busy with the lunch rush so it took awhile between everything. It even took awhile to get our waters. One waitress was in training and learning from the other. The positive was that the waitresses were friendly throughout. After looking at the menu and waiting another 15 minutes we finally placed our order. We got our appetizer after waiting another 15 minutes. Thankfully that held us over until we got our burgers and fries. We started with tostada chips and queso. It was good and we ate it up pretty quickly. We requested another basket of chips to finish off the queso. To eat with our burgers we ordered hand punched fries and sweet potato fries. The hand cut fries were nice and thick and you could taste the salt. I enjoyed eating them with ketchup. The sweet potato fries were also thick and salty and you could taste the flavor of the potato. No need for ketchup with these fries unless you want it. For my burger I ordered the HL Hunt cooked medium which comes with white cheese, bacon, blackberry compote and mustard. The burger was filling, the cheese was melted but it had little flavor, and the bacon was chewy. The compote was my favorite part of the burger as it added a slightly sweet flavor. I requested a medium cooked burger but it didn't taste that way but it was still good despite that. Overall Rodeo Goat has lots of seating and friendly staff but I would go at an off peak time so that you don't have to wait a long time for everything. We stopped by Rodeo Goat in Plano before the dinner rush and noticed the staff busy filling a lot of to-go orders. The atmosphere is super laid back and casual, which we liked--but just a heads up, this isn't the place to go if you're in a hurry. They definitely take their time. There's a ton of seating both inside and outside, and the space itself is pretty fun. The decor is entertaining and they even have some little games around, which adds to the vibe. Everything felt clean--the tables were well taken care of and the bathrooms were spotless. As for food, we ordered the Blue Goat, the H.L. Hunt, the Royale with Cheese, and the cheese fries (No Surprise). I had the Blue Goat (no onions). It was good overall, though I wish the blue cheese flavor was a bit stronger. My husband got the H.L. Hunt and really enjoyed the candied bacon. Our son had the Royale with Cheese and it filled him up so much that he didn't even touch fries--and he loves fries, so that says a lot. Speaking of fries, the order was HUGE--easily enough for 5-6 people. If we come back, I'd definitely dig into those first while the cheese is still warm and gooey. By the time we got to them after our burgers, everything had kind of stuck together. I was taking a lot of photos and exploring the areas of restaurant. This place pretty big and kitchen is way in front, then the dining room with high top seating and a place to play games and shoot the breeze with drink in your hand and to chat with folks if it got more busier in evening. It's called Rodeo Goat for a reason! The place has a fun, laid-back Texas burger joint vibe that feels a little like a southern diner but with a creative twist. One thing I thought was really cool is their monthly burger battle, where new specialty burgers compete and the winner stays on the menu until the next challenger takes its place. It definitely makes you curious about what burger will show up next month. We tried the Burger of the Month winner, Saddle Up!, along with the Firebird burger, homemade Goat chips, and a strawberry milkshake. One thing that surprised us was that the burgers don't come with any sides, so we had to order the Goat chips separately. The chips were great though, and the ranch that came with them was really good. The strawberry milkshake was a highlight--super creamy and delicious since it's made with real Blue Bell ice cream. Service was also really friendly. Our servers were great, and the manager (I think) even stopped by our table to check on us, which was a nice touch. I was enjoying my burger until I found a hair inside of it, which completely ruined the meal for me. I understand mistakes can happen in restaurants, but this is a basic food safety issue that should never occur. This was my first rodeo goat to try. Husband and I ordered to go the blue jean burger each, surprise fries, and two milkshakes to enjoy a special treat day. Due to health and personal limits, I made sure to get no jalapeños on my burger so it was not hot or spicy. The coffee milkshake was good and the fries were very tasty, but the experience changed with the burger. It wasn't until I was three bites in did I get a bite with quite a kick to it. Then it got hotter. And hotter. It got so hot I put it down, drank a ton of water then ran for some milk. Husband who enjoys hot foods admitted it was quite hot like habanero, and it wasn't the jalapeños since he ate those just fine and mine didn't have any. Unfortunately, I did not make it even halfway through the burger before my stomach became so upset and sick that I didn't want to eat anything and was miserable in pain for 3 hours. Husband called and the manager said he would credit us back the money for the whole order. He assured it was not supposed to be a hot burger and was unsure what happened. Although I'm happy they were responsible by wanting to take care of the situation, I still feel like I paid for the burgers in pain and it ruined my evening. My husband and I were seated in a small booth in the bar in between wait staff on break. Mind you, there was plenty of seating elsewhere in the restaurant. The staff was either all on break at the same time or not taking their job seriously. Staff was playing around and very loud. We only had interaction with someone taking our order one time. Waited for server to come back but never did. Bartender ended up checking us out. While eating my burger I bit into a large, very hard object wedged in the bun. When I pointed it out to bartender she brushed it off stating " oh that's a peppercorn from the pickle brine." The egg was cooked well and flavors were pretty good besides the saltiness. Rosebud - this is a drink with deep Eddy, cranberry vodka, pome juice, and rosé float. I personally like this drink because it is more on the fruity/sweet side. The vodka isn't too overpowering either. VIBES They let you choose your seating. They have both booth and table seating as well as high stool seating. They also have seating outside, which looks really nice if the weather is good. A pretty casual place with lots of families and friends. SERVICE Service was all right. And the times that we did talk to her server she's very nice and friendly, but they didn't really check in on us too much, which made it harder to order drinks later on during the meal. read more

this is a 3 becasue we love rodeo goat, but this was a 1 star experience (thus an average of 3 stars). This was a rough day at Rodeo Goat. It turns out the waiter/server we had was on his first day. He took our order for drinks and came right back with them. We ordered an appetizer and that showed up in 15 minutes, but the place was very busy. He took our order for the main meal and that was the last we saw of him for 20 minutes. We were having a great conversation, so we really did not notice our meal had not shown up. He let us know he checked on the order with the kitchen and said they were backed up. He refreshed our drinks and that was the last we saw of him for 30 minutes. This time we noticed. We finally got a different wait staff to find him. He cam back again and said the order was in but it was just taking a long time. Another 30 minutes passed, the manager finally made his way to the table and brought our order. They comped the meal and were very apologetic. Not bad waiting and hour and 20 minutes to get a meal at Rodeo Goat. Not a typical experience. The other 4 times we have been to Rodeo Goat (not this location) it was always great. We ordered queso and drinks which was great and came right away. After that our waiter disappeared for a long time, finally we flagged down another waiter and turned in our burger orders. This is my third location for Rodeo Goat. Prior, I have been to their Dallas and Fort Worth locations. The Plano location may just be my favorite one. Location is near a beautiful bridge and their outdoor patio area is perfect. Me and a friend met up for lunch and our food and vibes were awesome. I ordered a Bloody Mary and once again they were out of this world. I also orderd the chicken Cesar salad and goat chips. Both hit the spot. The goat chips were seasoned perfectly. I didn't get pictures of either because I was too busy chowing down. My friend ordered their impossible burger along with their fries. She mentioned they were both great as well. Well? All I can say is this RG is more consistently bad than good. Was with a party of 4, we all ordered margaritas and burgers. First off we asked our server Todd about the mushroom & bodacious burgers, which were no longer on the menu and he said they were removed due to be unpopular. Where Todd was not very attentive , he was down right rude when he finally checked back on our food delivery. I informed him my blue goat burger was cooked well-done instead of medium-rare. He shrugged his shoulders and said sorry. WOW, Not offering to have my burger re-cooked?!!! Our FF's were cold and we never had our waters refilled. Horrible Service! When a customer tells you they are not happy with the quality of the food, it should be recooked or taken off the bill. Shame, Shame, Shame!
