Our group of five was seated at a beautiful elevated circular booth with supple leather upholstery. The service was excellent, very kind and considerate. We got the short rib croquettes as an appetizer and were impressed by the fact that even their ketchup is made in-house. The croquettes were delicious and juicy, complemented by a crusted parmesan shell. For entrees, I got the seared ahi salad, and others in my group opted for rice pilaf with salmon, seared ahi sandwich, and the burger. I google searched best steak near me and Bavette's topped the list so of course I had to come for dinner! I had looked at the menu online so I wouldn't be too surprised and ended up ordering the BVT Steak and Fries. I had read it was "wet-aged" for 50 days but didn't know exactly what that meant. I had only ever had dry-aged before but I love steak so what the heck! Welp! It just means it's been marinated. For a long long time. So the steak itself was super juicy, well cooked, but pretty flavorless. Definitely not my kind of steak - I prefer the char grilled flavor with some good ole seasoning or butter/garlic flavor. This was a juicy, bland steak with minimal hints of pineapple. The shoe string French fries though were incredible and highly addicting! I could've eaten a whole 'nother plate of just those! The service was also phenomenal, my server was very professional, had the nicest smile and overall very kind! I believe that the food and drinks were reasonably priced and were less expensive compared to other similar restaurants in the area. Nice ambiance. Took my dad here for an early Father's Day dinner and it did not disappoint. The deviled eggs and spinach dip were delicious - the marinara that comes with the spinach dip should not be skipped. It really is the perfect combo. We both enjoyed the redfish and shrimp with an order of mashed potatoes on the side. It was the best redfish I've ever had - and the chef even came out to check on us - which was a nice touch. We ended the meal with the cheesecake (it was one of the fruity ones) for him and the flourless chocolate cake for me. I had a bite of his cheesecake and it was to DIE for. My cake was quite dry...the cream on top helped. Not egregious, but I would order a different sweet treat next time. My husband and I came to celebrate our anniversary and it was a memorable experience beginning to end. The vibe of the place is warm and welcoming. We wanted to try everything on the menu because they all sounded great but we had to settle. We almost didn't make it to dessert but we had to try the Pistachio Tres Leches cake and couldn't stop eating it. Steak was juicy, but the highlight was the single peppadew pepper which we ordered more of. The French dip sandwich was tender, and the salmon in the salad was seasoned perfectly. I saw the good reviews so I went to try an item. The short rib croquettes were solid but not amazing. I thought the idea was unique but I don't think I'd order it again. 7/10. I also had the fries and they were very lackluster. A bit too salty for the texture 3/10. I haven't tried any of the main dishes yet so I'd be ok with coming back and trying one of those to see if it changes my opinion. read more

We reserved half the patio for a company dinner and it was perfect! We felt completely alone and separated from any other groups. We felt comfortable laughing, talking, giving a speech, etc without worrying about disturbing other patrons. We could hear each other talk almost from end to end of the tables. The service was great and everyone enjoyed their meals. The desserts were a great delicious finish. Favorites were the short rib steak, steak tips and mac, and the burgers. Exceptional place! We were greeted by friendly hostesses and escorted to the bar, as requested, where Erik the bartender took awesome care of us. Since it was our first time he informed us that everything was house made from the fruit syrups for cocktails to the ketchup and house ground hamburger patties! So we stumbled upon this place at Granite Park (on the far end next to mesa grill). The decor was clean and classy and ambiance was cool, inviting, and relaxing. They have a nice air conditioned outdoor patio which features a fireplace and outdoor couches and lots of dining tables. They grow their herbs/lettuce in a hydroponic like structure that you can observe from the patio. This is a very neat place to come with friends or date night. Not kid friendly as they don't have high chairs, kids menus, or changing tables. If you have kids beware. As for the food, after reading the reviews I was so excited to come try it. I was underwhelmed with the flavors. The steak in my mac and cheese had an overpowering flavor and sauce to me and it was not that tender. My husband got the steak sandwich which he said was good but not worth the price. I do think the dishes are overpriced for the flavor. All in all, I would personally just come here for a happy hour drink and the ambiance. oh and the service, everyone was superb and one of the most attentive staff i've seen. read more

I typically don't write reviews but felt like our experience at Bavette Grill needed some attention. We have a group of six people who meet monthly for dinners at various restaurants in the area. This week we chose Bavette Grill. We arrived and had some drinks before we were seated. The ambience was very nice. That was the extent of the our good experience. Our waiter came over and suggested some appetizers that were popular. We ordered the short rib appetizer as well as the mushroom meatball appetizer. Neither was worth the calories nor the price. Not even sure what the mixture was of the meatball appetizer although they said it was mushrooms. The short rib appetizer looked and tasted like minced meat on a bed of ketchup. We then proceeded to order our entrées. Three people at the table ordered the same BVT steak entrée. One person ordered ordered the steak tips and mac & cheese entrée. I ordered the blackened fish and shrimp entrée my other friend, ordered the salmon entrée. The waiter asked how she wanted her salmon cooked, which surprised us because none of us had ever been asked that when ordering Salmon. She requested medium well. The visits to our table by our waiter were sporadic and few and far between. We had ordered a drink during our wait for our entrees and our waiter was MIA but we finally flagged him down for that drink order. Our entrées showed up finally about 25 minutes later, and my friend turns to me and and asked me if I thought her entrée (Salmon) was cooked. I took a look and it was completely raw on the inside literally sushi! We waited for our waiter to come back by our table so that we could inform him of the undercooked entrée he never did. 10 minutes later one of the members of our party had to walk up to the bar to request some someone come over to our table. The bartender/waiter came over (not our original waiter) and we told him that the fish was undercooked. He took it back and apologized and said order a dessert on me so by this time we had all received our entrées and we're waiting on the salmon order to be re-cooked. My blackened fish entrée consisted of salmon and shrimp. The shrimp were rubbery and the salmon was like somebody poured half a can of Old Bay seasoning over it. It was definitely not blackened by any means. My husband's steak and Mac entrée was chopped up steak with some sort of noodles and some sort of white sauce over it definitely not mac & cheese. My other friend who ordered the steak entrée who is a meat lover said his steak was undercooked by a lot. But choose not to send it back after we had been waiting over 20 minutes for the fish dish to come back. We had all finished our dinner and were still waiting on the fish entrée. We once again called the waiter over to inquire about the order, and he said that they had "refire" a fresh piece of salmon. He said there was a mix-up in the kitchen because somebody had ordered their salmon medium rare , and they got the medium rare salmon, and the medium well salmon mixed up (seriously)! We were all finished with our entrées before the new piece of salmon came out. I left 3/4 of my entrée because it was horrible and inedible due to the amount of seasoning poured over the fish. My friend left half his steak because it was on the verge of raw. The Salmon finally arrived and was cooked throughout but by this time we were over it! The manager engaged at this point and apologized profusely and said she wanted us to order a dessert on them and did her very best to make this experience right by us. We ordered the bread pudding, which was essentially soggy pieces of white bread and some sort of sauce. She then continued to apologize and suggested some sort of drink that was popular at the restaurant. It was a shot type of drink. She informed us that the drinks would be on the house. She again apologized profusely and really tried to make a bad experience right. Our bill came and they did end up comping the fish dish, all in all it was a very expensive dinner and the food was just not good. I always like to support the local community and don't mind paying the prices for a nice dinner. This dinner was not good and very overpriced. I do want to give a shout out to the manager who did her very best to make good of a bad situation. read more

We ordered the "Sweet Dreams" and "Come Fly With Me" Cocktails. Clearly, only the freshest ingredients are used in the preparation of their handcrafted cocktails. Both invigorated our taste buds and had just the right balance of flavor and intensity. Additionally, Aylin brought still water - per our request - to the table. The Tomato Basil Soup lent a harmonizing, creamy, savory, sweet, richness, depth, and well-balanced flavor. It was an absolute delight for our palate. The Chicken Club was comprised of French Bread with layers of tender, juicy, and well-seasoned, flavorful high-quality meat that melded together beautifully with mayo and garden pesto. The Fries were a true standout. I love that they are small, thin, well-seasoned, and plentiful. With the garlic herb salt they use, it is no wonder these little numbers are so addictive. The BVT Steak was most noteworthy, however, and undoubtedly the star of the show. THE most succulent, tender cut of meat I have ever had. It was well-marbled and provided that texture and depth of flavor that far exceeded my expectations. The Balsamic Glaze imparted a distinct flavor and complemented the steak remarkably well. It was also perfectly cooked to my liking (medium-well). Every bite was pure heaven. The Cream Cheese filled Peppadew Pepper was a nice touch and further enhanced the taste of the steak by way of a smoky, sweet flavor. The Pistachio Tres Leches Cake was the perfect conclusion to our meal. The creamy mouthfeel, spongy texture, and a nutty crunch to top it all off was the ideal accompaniment to the Coquito - which came highly recommended by Aylin and which she so delectably described as liquid dessert- and it did not disappoint. Props to the owners, management, and Chef. Five Star Meal all around. All dishes excellent! We will be back! They even have a Hydroponic Garden on their patio and all sauces are made-in-house.
