A retail bakery on the campus of Long Beach Community College, the LBCC Bakery provides a variety of bakery products baked by students. It is open only Tuesday and Wednesday from 10 am to 12:40 pm, and from our observation, sells out of their products before then. It is located in the same building as the LBCC Bistro where we were having lunch, and was continually busy while we observed the line from our dining area. So after we finished our meal, we walked over. Unfortunately by that time (12:20), almost all the product had been sold out, but we were still able to pick up the last baguette ($3.35), 3 chocolate chip cookies ($1.50 each), and 3 snickerdoodles ($1.50 each). All of it was good, and as expected, the students manning the store were very friendly and helpful. Definitely a place to stop by if in the area. If dining at the nearby Bistro, pro tip is to go early while waiting for your food before they run out.

FINALLY! All the times that I have gone they are never open, even when they're supposed to be. My friends and I finally got lucky. I got the vanilla ice latte and a strawberry cream puff. The service was fast and the workers were friendly. It is pretty small with the only option to take orders to-go because there are no seats available inside or outside. The strawberry cream puff was so good, I would definitely get it again. Trust me it's not as sweet as it looks and the bread has a great taste and texture (not dry at all). I would pass on the drinks but would try other food items.

I've tried coming here multiple times but it's always been closed because they sell out?? They have a nice variety of pastries both savory and sweet! I decided to get a fruit tart which was extremely delicious and a pretty decent price about $3 and change. I also got the caramel iced latte which was okay, probably wouldn't get it again. I would love to come back and try some more pastries. The service was extremely quick, downside was there's no seats or tables near by.

Freshman here at LBCC and the bakery has to be my favorite spot on campus. They open at 9am and their menu options are amazing! My boyfriend loved their breakfast burrito and I loved their pepperoni brioches. There are some menu items that are permanent and some that are new for the day. You can tell their chocolate chip cookies are made from love cause duh it's made by amazing culinary students! also, I'm literally OBSESSED with their Jamaica drink so much that I get it everyday. For real it's so refreshing Their lines can get long but they're so quick with the service and the wait time for your food after ordering is less than 4-5 minutes. seriously. Customer service is awesome and they do tend to run out of menu items around 12 but that's because it's just so good you can't even be mad! Their utensils are all compostable and biodegradable which I looooooove. What's not to love about this place. W for tha culinary students

This student run bakery is located in the V building on the Long Beach City College campus. They sell baked goods and sandwiches created by culinary arts students at a low price. The line to order was very short (which I guess was an anomaly). I ordered a chocolate brownie, a chocolate croissant and a small loaf of ciabatta bread (about 6 inches in diameter). Total price was under $5. All were consumed later in the day. The chocolate brownie with walnuts was just "okay"; nothing special. A notch better was the bread, which was crunchy outside and pillowy soft inside. But the buttery-flakey croissant crammed full of chocolate was - and I sincerely mean this - the best chocolate croissant I ever remember eating. I assume different students bake every day so you may experience different results depending on the day. But for the price it's definitely worth it to take the chance if you find yourself on this campus.

The concept is nice: students of culinary arts practice and hone their skills as they serve their patrons with very forgiving pallettes at a lower cost. In this case, I can't be as forgiving. My entire order was just wrong. From execution to ingestion. As I was passing the bakery on my morning walk, the smell of fresh bread and other sweet treats captured my attention. I arrived just as they opened and I was behind some very eager and happily faithful and returning customers. So from the display of freshly baked goods I chose a ham and cheese croissant, an oatmeal cranberry cookie and very French looking baguette. And that's where my delight ended. Hopefully it was just the first batch that was bad because how the customers in front of me praised this place made me expect some superior quality food. The croissant was not flaky and buttery but oily and soggy. The oatmeal cookie was more like a tasteless cracker. And my baguette was not French at all. I'm not always able to come here to enjoy some cheap eats and who knows if I'll try again. But I hope the students here practice some more and taste test before putting some unsuspecting sap like myself through this culinary disappointment.

Calamansi loaf- fave because it tastes good overall , but lacked calamansi flavor or tartness from the calamansi juice I guess Ube pandesal- I used to get this 3 times a week- just tastes like regular pandesal with a small slice of Cheez. Again, zero ube flavor Regular pandesal- can't go wrong here. Bibingka- decent. Doesn't have the traditional chewiness of bibingka, but just okay in actual flavor. I doctored mine up with slices of Cheezewhiz and salted egg at home. I think the names of the pastries are deceiving because they lack the actual flavor that they're named after. Stopped coming because I felt like I was just paying $20 per visit for something sweet that didn't have depth in flavors. Also, after reading the clap backs from the owner on IG/Yelp reviews towards other patrons, it has turned me off and made me more hesitant to support her business. The guy though (sorry I don't know his name) is always at the counter and super nice!

I'm absolutely obsessed with their coffee menu, baked items, sandwiches, and their selection of grocery-like goods. I ordered the Midsommar caramel latte, ceasar salad sandwich on their fresh baked bread, and the strawberry rhubarb and pistachio danish (!!). I'd easily sign up for this lineup to be my last meal on earth. I even ordered a sourdough bread loaf with olives so I could ride this high for several more days. The Midsommar latte is crafted with housemade caramel, espresso, milk, and topped with sprinkles of fennel and bee pollen - the perfect finale to an already incredible drink. To hear that they also offer an extensive pizza menu? You won't be seeing the last of me, Colossus.

I ordered a Cinnamon Sugar Knot and a after looking at the coffee options I decided to go with the Midsommar Latte. The Cinnamon Sugar Knot was pretty yummy, it had, in my opinion, a very good distribution of sugar all along the pastry and wasn't lackluster like I feel most places are. If you are craving a sweet bite of something I recommend the Cinnamon Sugar Knot for sure. The Midsommar Latte on the other hand had a pretty presentation and at first glance looked like it would be pretty good. Sadly to me the flavor wasn't there, it tasted very milky and lacked any other flavoring. It's suppose to be a spicy Carmel as described to me by the barista but as I stated I was just milky. If you crave more of a stronger coffee taste, as I tend to personally like, i definitely would stay away from the Midsommer Latte. The service was quick and the baristas were nice. There wasn't any music playing though when I went, maybe it was paused in accident, so it was extremely quite which isn't a bad thing but perhaps playing some lo-fi music to just set a nice relaxing tone would be great. All in all, not a bad little cafe, nice interior, yummy pastries, and good amount of options to choose from within the drink menu

There are also three tables outside that seat four, four, and two for a maximum of ten. The place fills up fast, but empties just as quick. And their baked goods go quick, so grab them while you can! I ordered the Cuban Empanada as an appetizer. The savory rice and bean filling was a perfect compliment to the sweet ripe plantain filling and hint of sweetness in the dough. They are baked and the dough is thick and chewy, so if you're not a fan of that type of Empanada, be warned... I ordered the Cuban Sandwich as the main course. It was DELICIOUS and I would recommend it to everyone! If you're a purist, like a few of my friends and family though, be warned. Their take on the Cuban is made with Ciabatta not Cuban Bread, Mozzarella not Swiss, and is toasted not pressed... I ordered a Vanilla & Dulce De Leche Cookie for Dessert. It was AMAZING! Soft chewy on the inside, a little crunch on the outside. The taste of a sugar cookie with little sugar bombs of Dulce De Leche throughout. Perfect. And I washed it all down with a Tres Leches Latte (Hot). It was DIVINE! Very much on the sweet side, which I absolutely enjoyed to the last drop. But, if you do not like it too sweet, you can ask them to lower the sweetness level. Also, they will give you an option of dairy milk (2%), almond milk, or oat milk when you order. Overall it was an excellent experience, for me. I will recommend it to all my friends, and will definitely be back!

It was our first time here, so we wanted to try all the flavors! We got the beef, chicken, BBQ pork, Cuban, chicken curry, veggie, and ropa vieja empanadas. I LOVE the crispy exterior of the empanadas, although interestingly, the first bites always tasted slightly salty. The fillings all had decent flavor, but none of them were outstanding or impressed me enough to want more. I will say, the green salsa they included with the order SIGNIFICANTLY improved the taste and experience of the empanadas. By itself, I'd rate the empanadas 3/5, but with the salsa, it definitely goes up to at least 4/5. But I dislike that the empanadas can't hold their own without the addition of the salsa. The shop is located in a plaza with a decent amount of parking. I think there were a few tables outside to enjoy the food, but not much seating otherwise. The girl at the counter seemed sweet and helpful and immediately greeted us when we came into the store. While the empanadas here aren't for me, it does seem like many people like them!

Came in with a small group early on a Wednesday afternoon maybe an hour before closing, and most of the tables were still filled with diners. We were seated right away in the way way back of the restaurant. The layout and decor of the place gives it a classic, borderline kitschy vibe. I got the quiche of the day, which was ham and cheese, and it was amazing.
