The pies are always delicious here. My go to's are the Dutch apple, raspberry dream and Ive had the key lime pie. Also got some mini pies for my pup. The service was great, the young ladies here were very polite and attentive. The ambiance was very relaxing

Food Got the bosenberry pie since it was advertised as a vegan low sugar vegan options. Honestly go to another pie place over in Bixby knolls instead. This pie tasted like it was full of sugar and the crust was awful. I love a good pie and this crust was too thick in a bad way and bready. It was not soft and the filling was massively lacking, being ALL crust and no bosenberry made me feel like it was not worth the steep price we had paid for it. I did preorder the pie so it was ready and they were nice and made sure that I picked it up in time.

Located on Pine Ave. Parking was easy, well at least when I showed up, which is always a win for that area. The inside is small but really cozy, with a warm, welcoming vibe that makes you want to sit and actually enjoy your dessert instead of rushing out. I got two slices: the ube coconut cheesecake and the Dutch apple. The ube coconut cheesecake was super creamy and smooth, not overly sweet, and the coconut flavor was nicely balanced with the ube. Really unique and really well done. The Dutch apple was warmed and topped with a scoop of vanilla ice cream, and that was the highlight for me. The apples were soft and cinnamon-y, the crust was buttery and flaky, and the ice cream melting into the warm pie just took it to another level. Classic, comforting, and exactly what you hope for from a good apple pie. The staff was friendly and patient, happy to explain flavors and make recommendations,

Dog friendly, great customer service, even better pies. I love coming in here. There's something here for everyone. My favorite is the lemon-lavender, Mississippi mud, and whiskey apple. Key lime is really popular with my group but not for me

Super yummy pies here. Love the lemon lavender and ube ones the most. Slices are rather small for the price but pack good flavor. Street parking only.

We got the pie shots flight. The flavors for that day was Cookies and Cream, Key Lime, Mississippi Mudpie, and Raspberry White Chocolate. We liked it!!! It's a little on the pricey side but I think sometimes it's the experience that matters (: They weren't too overpoweringly sweet and all so good!! I think they're also really cute too haha hard to get all the layers in one bite, scared to drop anything haha. Surprisingly, the mudpie one was more chocolatey than the cookies and cream. One of our favs was the white chocolate raspberry. The decor is also real cute and on point. The service was nice as well. Small shop. And we got the whiskey peach pie slice to go, it was okay but it felt like less filling to pie crust ratio. I think I recommend the sweeter pies, not the non-fridgerator ones haha. But up to you!!

Laurie's is great and the Ube Coconut Cheesecake is a crowd favorite. We all enjoyed the crust and silkiness of the filling and coconut cream.

This place is so delicious. I am a big pie fan and have tried almost every flavor they have here. My top 3 would have to be the creme brûlée pie, raspberry dream, and salted caramel with the brownie base. The inside is so cute and feels very cozy of you ever wanted to stop by and eat dessert. The people that work here are also very kind and make the transaction pleasant! I loveeee this place and would recommend to everyone who loves pie!

How yummy was this ube coconut cheesecake! I wish it had more of an ube taste to it but the crunch of the crust with the smoothness of the cheesecake was great. Friendly staff and cute doggy pics to enjoy.

Smores Cutie Pie with Nutella
Abbi P.

I was in Long Beach for a conference and happened to walk by Laurie's Pie Bar on my way home after telling my colleagues I was in desperate need of a sweet treat. We stopped in right before they closed and I snagged the smores with Nutella jar. The marshmallow fluff on top was so light and fluffy, and the Nutella made it so rich. I only had a few bites and saved it for the next day. Would love to go back and try more flavors!

Mississippi Mud Pie Slice

Best pie I've ever had :,) Stopped by on a Saturday night and was able to pick up a couple slices quickly. Street parking was easy to find and service was really helpful and friendly. We tried the Mississippi mud pie and ube coconut cheesecake slices and Mexican chocolate cutie pie. Everything was delicious without being too sweet. The ube coconut was the best pie I've ever had - thick buttery graham cracker crust with earthy ube cheesecake and a slightly coconutty whipped cream. So amazing I'll be waiting to come back.

I was enjoying my rent on Saturday minding my business when I suddenly had an intense sugar craving. Laurie's came to mind since I had never tried it before and I live a few steps away. I managed to peel myself off the couch and walk to my treat. The staff is very friendly and inviting when you walk in which was nice! They have plenty of options available but the mulberry caught my eye immediately, so I asked for that and a slice of Mississippi mud pie. I really enjoyed the mulberry pie, it was so good! Not too sweet and a bit tangy. If you're visiting downtown LB on the weekend this is a must stop before heading home. Loved it!

Jacqueline D.

I had the pleasure of trying Laurie's pies at a holiday party and WOW, you just can't go wrong with ANY of the flavors! My personal favorites were the apple and salted caramel pies. All of the fruit pies I tried had a nice tartness to them, making them so refreshing and delicious. The salted caramel was decadent and really elevated with the salt you sprinkle on. I am looking forward to trying all of the pies!

Are pie flights still offered? I don't see them on the online menu. Thanks!

Yes they are! We don’t have them on the online menu. Available for walk-in only. If it is for a large order you can email catering@thepiebarlongbeach.com.

Do you have any gluten free options?

Yes! Salted Caramel, Chocolate Peanut Butter and Cookies n Cream.

Is the an annual pi day? And when is it this year for 2023?

Oh yes it is our favorite day of the year! Tuesday March 14. We’ll be open from 11am-9pm with lots of pie!

Can i order a whole banana cream pie & how much would that cost? I'm obsessed with that one

Yes you sure can! We kindly ask for 48 hour notice so that we can get it into the baking schedule. You can email order@thepiebarlongbeach.com

Hi, we had an order under Salinas for pick up today. Is there any way to get it today or tomorrow?

Hello- I do see your order online for pickup today. We do close at 9pm on Sundays. We are closed Mondays and open again at 11am on Tuesday. You can come in anytime on…

What is the shelf life of a cutie pie?

It depends on the flavor. Most are 7 days. Banana is only 3 days. Smores is 14 days.

Do they have a pumpkin pie for Thanksgiving?

They have a few, I suggest calling to place an order.

Are there any vegan options here?

Yes! We have several flavors in vegan pies, both sweet and savory. And we are always expanding our vegan options.

I have a nut allergy.Does the crust on the key lime pie contain any nuts?

Thank you Lily. No the Key Lime pie does not contain nuts. However it is made in our kitchen which also processes products with nuts. Laurie

How is the gluten-free apple cinnamon pie? ?

It’s delicious and very popular!

This time (yesterday), however, was not nearly the same experience. First of all, I realized we couldn't book a table for 8 people, so me and my friends book 2 tables for 8.30PM. I called asking if it's possible to put our tables together close or side by side, they said they will try their best. We all showed up at 8.30 and waited until around 9-9.15 because they only had 1 table ready. Ok. Come the time the other table opened and it's not even that close to each other. But it's okay, I respect the limitations on this part. No one came to us to take our order or even give us water until way later, and we got our drinks at 9.45. Another critique is that my friend called and ask how much corkage fee and they said $25. It turned out to be $40. Another disappointment, but it's ok. Not much can be done bout that part. Next thing is the food. We enjoyed the fried green beans. Crudo was really really salty, and it's not only 1 person thought that. We wondered if the kitchen mistakenly salted the fish twice. We enjoyed the peach salad. We ordered a few different pasta and the tagliatelle in particular was disappointing. It really lacked flavor that we had to mix the other pasta dish sauce to it. The pork plate was good, a bit small but we enjoyed it. Now the mussles and frites were disappointing too. The sauce just didn't do it for me (other friends agreed). I always talked really highly about Nonna Mercato (I also enjoyed the brunch so much) and always told people that this is one of my most favorite restaurants in Long Beach, but this one really missed the mark for me and my friends. I don't know if this would make us want to go to Summer Nights again next time. For $130 per person (after tax, tip, and corkage fees), I definitely hoped for a much better experience.

Our favorite is the chocolate concha. It is crisp, fresh, and has the slightest sourdough flavor. I tried the dona one time and while it was great. It was just too much for me. Literally, we had to bring it home. I would suggest splitting this because of its size and it has a lot of almond and jam so it's hefty. I also tried their jamon which was sooooo good. I would get this again. For drinks we have tried their Atole, Dulce de Leche and Horchata with Cold Brew. My new favorite is the Horchata. It is so well complimented by the cold brew and it's so smooth and not too sweet. My husband also liked the taste he tried but he went with my now second favorite the Dulce de Leche. What I love about this place is that everything is balanced. Its not too much of anything just perfect. The concha isn't too sweet. It's balanced by the sourdough which is complex. The coffees which anywhere else would be a sugar bomb are just right. The sugar highlights the brilliance of whatever it is paired with whether that is bread or coffee.

I still gave it a chance. It was okay, but it didn't have enough cinnamon for me. It reminded me of a Little Debbie honey bun warmed up with heavy cream. I was looking for a thick, gooey, soft center Cinnabon moment, and it just wasn't that. I took two or three bites and passed on it. We also got the marble coffee cake, the cashier recommended it, and he did his big one because it was excellent. We got cinnamon crisps too, and those were super good kind of churro like but crispier, almost like a tortilla chip but not really. Delicious though. We grabbed snickerdoodle cookies, but they weren't giving snickerdoodle, more like sugar cookies. Good, just not snickerdoodle. There were so many dessert options that it took us about 15 minutes to decide. I probably should've gotten the lemon cake or carrot cake instead of the Cinnabon. If I go back, I'm definitely trying a cake. But if you have a sweet tooth, they have tons of options and indoor seating, which is nice.

But I asked for the frosting on the side as I heard the frosting was insanely sweet and ruins the cinnamon roll. Honestly the cinnamon roll by itself was a lot better than with the frosting. The cinnamon roll was soft and had good flavor but just a bit overwhelming. I felt over it after 1 bite. So I added some of the frosting and WOOOOOOW it doesn't have flavor. Just pure sugar only. Yes cinnamon rolls are a dessert and sweet but this was like I drank pure sugar water. I tossed that frosting. No way people actually eat that. You have the option to buy them frozen to save for later, but they honestly taste best when you eat them fresh right at the bakery. A quick tip if you order online: Make sure to go straight to the front and let one of the many employees know you are there for a pickup. They only call out names for in-person orders, so you'll be waiting a while if you don't speak up! I also tried their new seasonal sandwich--the pulled pork melt and the very popular nonseasonal sandwich crispy chicken sandwich. Both were very filling and packed with flavor. Portions are big and it's filled with your choice of filling, very delicious, highly recommend 9/10 2. Empanadas - Usually I love empanadas but these were a bit disappointing on my end. Breakfast Burrito - Talk about portions, this breakfast burrito is loaded with ingredients, eggs among many other ingredients, super flavorful and savory. It does have a bit of a kick to it which adds to the taste, pretty good! 8.5/10 Overall, a solid brunch spot, although a bit expensive, it's still worth to check them out. Pretty decent tasting potato balls, breakfast burrito is big in portion and delicious as well, along with their empanadas which can be a hit or miss depending on the style of empanadas you like. Definitely a good spot for a snack even if you're in the area.
