I was looking for a bakery open on a Memorial Day Monday and found LaMon, thanks to Yelp. The exterior looks a little sketchy, but inside you'll find an assortment of delightful pastries! I chose a slice of ube cheesecake creme brûlée ($6), which he freshly brûléed the top before packaging it to go. My daughter saw the slice in the fridge, asked if she could have some and then proceeded to eat the majority of it because it was THAT good. When it was my turn, I could see why she couldn't stop eating it. It was delightfully light and not too sweet. It's probably going to be one of my favorite things I've eaten in 2026! I have a new favorite ube cheesecake and it's this one! I really enjoyed the crunchy texture that the Brûlée topping added to the cheesecake. The vanilla basque biscoff was good as well, but it didn't steal my heart as much as the ube one did. The shop is small, service was friendly, and parking wasn't too bad on a Tuesday. The goat of Filipinos bakeries. I had originally tried them at Ube fest in Long Beach and they were so good I had to come check it out in person. Though they were sold out of a lot of stuff because of Mother's Day I still ended up grabbing 2 things. The Ube creme brulee cheesecake is perfection. 10/10 cheesecake. Discovered LaMon Bakery at an outdoor movie event recently and immediately knew I was in trouble in the best way possible. This Filipino bakery has so many great options, especially if you're an ube lover. I tried the ube crème brûlée cheesecake(top seller), and it was one of the best ube desserts I've had in a long time. Perfectly sweet, rich without being heavy, and absolutely addictive. And they also have vegan, gluten free and sugar free options I've also ordered some dessert from them through DoorDash / Uber eats. Other bakeries have the similar business model. The one staff member working prepared the creme brulee top white I waited. Nice aroma too! She was very friendly and made sure I was happy with the cheesecake top after she finished. One bakery case was filled with cookies and bars. The other dislayed their cheese cake. Small but neat and organized store. Parking is very challenging in this area. There is a busy pub across the street (Gallagher's) and very busy this Sunday morning. Likely what contributed to the scarce parking. Important note - hours on the Yelp page stare they open at 9am. Hours on the door state 930am. Theircwebsite doesn't have any hours and allows you to peeorder as early as 8am. I let them know at the store but hopefully a manager will see this and make corrections. I was at the Long Beach Filipino festival and LaMon had a booth there. It was a hot day so I ordered the Ube horchata - It's sweet and flavorful and refreshing, it was just what I needed. Since it was my first time trying LaMon, I asked them what their most popular item was and they said it was the Creme brulee ube cheesecake. I got one slice and let me tell you, it was a flavorful explosion in my mouth. The caramelized sugar on the top was crunchy. The custard and cheesecake went well together. And the crust! Initially learnt about it from a stall that LaMon had at the Long Beach Night Market. I'm a sucker for creme brule, which they had available at the Market. But before buying it, I realized they couldn't blow torch it there because of safety regulations. So instead decided to stop in as our second to last stop on an errand trip, and ended up buying a sampling of their best. We've been sampling it at home for the past couple days, and everything has been really good. It's a very small shop, located on Broadway, East of Downtown Long Beach. Parking is difficult in that area, so ended up on street parking a couple blocks away. It wasn't busy inside, so was able to take our time and ended up getting 5 things to go. Ube Creme Brule ($5) - two layer cheesecake with a caramelized crust. Wish the sugar crust was even thicker. The cheesecake underneath was excellent, perfect consistency with the rig Ube Almond Croissant ($4) - A large, flaky croissant with a good almond filling (frangipane) and a thick ube frosting. It was excellent...first to be finished. Black Sesame Ensaymada ($4) - I really like steamed buns with black sesame filling, and this reminded me of that, except the filling glaze was on the outside. Ube Ensamada - ($4) - Same ensaymada dough except with ube sugar topping. Similar to a cinnamon roll but not as sweet. Cheese Ensamada -($4) - Really liked this. Have gotten to like shredded melted cheddar cheese on bread, and this version was as good as any I've had. I don't mean to intentionally propagate the thinking that all Filipino desserts have to be made out of Ube. But that's what is popular these days, and a large selection reflected that. What my wife and I really liked about the desserts were that they were not overly sweet, and still had that deep royal purple hue that Ube provides and makes it so beautiful. I may be wrong, but I don't really know what the flavor/taste of Ube is, except that it provides a subtle sweetness...and Lamon Bakery really does a nice job of using that to make some classic and delicious desserts and breads. read more

Cute lil bakery, and the employee was very efficient and provided excellent service as she immediately knew what I was there for when I mentioned the app. She brought out a small bag with four prepackaged cookies and I was on my way. I am so happy this little shop moved into the Bluff heights neighborhood! I happened to stop by right as they were closing, and I'm so happy I did! I needed baked goods to give to a friend for their birthday, but everything looked so good that I grabbed some baked goods for myself and my partner. The cookies that we tried had a pillowy, almost cake like texture. Both cookies were really moist and flavorful. The ube cookie is DELICIOUS!! My partner had never tried ube but this cookie made him an ube fan. 10/10 The Buko Pandan cookie is one of the most interesting cookies I've ever had because I've never had a cookie like it before. It has warm notes as well as floral notes. I thought the coconut might be too overpowering but it isn't. I keep going back and eating more. It's a really unique flavor with the same great moist cake-y texture. 9/10 The cheesecake brownie was a little disappointing because the brownie itself wasn't as moist as the cookies and ran a little on the dry side. But the cheesecake topping was really delicious.
